We should be grateful for this - why exactly? PC has been doing 60 fps for years now, that too for just the normal game purchase. Defending a dev just for going to settings and unlocking frame-rate - that's very bad. What "Next-Gen" Upgrade is being talked about here? It's pathetic to be quite honest. All the "Next-Gen" BS is already included in 1 version of the game. The only difference is - Sony enable Medium settings 30 fps cap on PS4 version and High Settings 60 fps cap on PS5 version (+RTX). If/When the game comes to PC - it will all be there. Even if it's not there artificially, modders will put it in there. The only "Next-Gen" exclusive features are 3D Audio and Haptics controller, both of which do not merit 1000 Rs difference. GoT at least had the excuse that they had to re-animate for Japanese lip sync. it's not the case here, since the game will focus on English anyway, and no one wants a special Japanese/French/Whatever Lip sync animated Aloy. This is just Sony trying to milk customers tbqh. It's not justified at all. Original promise was, games built for PS5 from ground up - like DeS, Ratchet 2 etc. will be $70/5k. Games built for PS4, but ported to PS5 (Like H:FW is clearly) would be 4k with free upgrade. But then tons of people made GoT DC #1 Best seller, and even DS DC became a great seller I think. The customers sent the message to Sony that they wouldgladly pay $10 extra, just to have the tag of "PS5 version. It's kinda the same thing as MS's Paid online during 360 days. Had less people purchased GoT DC, H:FW would most probably have been cross-buy as originally promised. So now here we are.

For all people hesitant about the price, and don't want to deal in 2nd hand - just wait for 1-2 months. It will drop like a stone, much like all of Sony's other exclusives did. Last of Us 2 was one of the prime examples which literally dropped to 2.5k within 1 month lol. This is one of the places where we recoup the extra 10k we spent for the physical PS5 console. Plus, the added benefit is - if enough people do this, the 5k price for physical games will permanently drop to 4k very quickly. This is especially for physical in India (Digital will always be dictated by US and UK prices). Sony is riding high on the fact that there is tons of console sales here, with too much demand. Cut it at the root. It's win-win. After all, this is an experiment. 3rd parties are not yet charging 5k. We let Sony get away with this, all will follow suit.

I saw The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind on Netflix. Highly recommend you guys to give it a watch. It's an amazing movie (based on true life).

It's really sad tbqh. People unable to discuss even a single game in a civilized manner.

What the heck is happening here lol? I did not browse for some days, and now I can't tell the difference between this thread and all the console threads. Also pathetic to be abusing someone like what that guy posted (saw it via @radicaldude's quote). Though somehow I don't get the feeling that it was adity/comingle. I've been here quite some time now, and I've never seen him use such language at all.

PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

Seems this was also him (when working on a franchise other than Yakuza) What a transformation lol. Anyway, unless SEGA has some other creator stored up, I doubt they will let him go easily. Yakuza is their bread and butter at this point in the video game industry. Sure there is Persona and Atlus, but they are far too slow in development. Yakuza is what gives hem regular money. It's their equivalent to Assassin's Creed. Anyway really bad news for us Yakuza fans if this happens. Hope he has a successor trained up. But it might be good news for him. He's been at Yakuza for a very long time, ad might appreciate the change. Anyway, wish him the best. Though why NetEase I wonder? They are primarily mobile developers. Tencent is the one who is CCP's go-to for PC/Console Games. -
Chances are it's because of Alpha demo build. Game is UE4. There are far better looking UE4 games out there on PS4 (not to mention PS5). I don't think NB are bad devs, so chances are the pop-ins will be fixed for the official release (They did state, I think that the demo build was made separately, and there are unvoiced lines in the demo, that will be voiced in the full game). All of this is just a guess on my part though. Anyway, pre-ordered the digital edition. The game looks absolutely amazing, and it's been a very long time since a proper new Tales game. I'm looking forward to it.

My Villain Academia Arc has started in MHA. This is the point from which the real show starts. It's going to be absolutely bonkers. For those who left MHA - recommend start watching again. (Note: for some time nor, just like the name implies, there will be no heroes. The arc will focus on the villains). Leaving this pic for fun -

This is exactly why this game is best played on PC. Precise KB+M targeting is mind-blowing. It literally makes it a new game. This is especially true in this game where you need to target specific weak points and auto-aim is absolutely useless. This is one of the reasons why I'm not that interested in H:FW on PS. Useless and difficult aiming is more of an artificial barrier to progression and does not feel good.

It is the year 518. The rebellion of the renegade mages, known as the Mage Wars, has been quashed by the Crown. In times like these people cling to any sign of hope they can find. The Purity of Light, led by a charismatic man called Rondar Lacaine, claims that mages are the source of all misfortune—and that only the second coming of Aonir, the father of all gods, will return Eo to its former splendor. The story takes place before the acclaimed SpellForce: The Order of Dawn. Key Features: Innovative Mix – Unique gameplay blending real-time strategy and RPG naturally together. Manage their skills and equipment to ensure victory on the battlefield. Choose Your Side – Strengthen and command one of three factions—Elves, Orcs, and Humans. Prepare your troops and fight the mother of all battles. Play strategically, taking advantage of terrain, troop formations, visibility, scouting, etc. Experience an Epic Tale – Enjoy a fully-voiced 30-plus hour campaign on your own or with friends in the campaign coop mode. Face opponents of all skills in the online battles. Multiplayer – Strong multiplayer component with various modes—compete against each other in the Player-versus-Player and Domination modes, or play cooperative either together on one faction or classic where everybody plays a faction. Point to Note: Reforced will include only the base game, while those who want to get the full SpellForce 3 experience should grab the Complete Edition, arriving on the same date. This will get you access to the Soul Harvest and Fallen God expansions, each sporting their own single-player campaigns with over 30 hours of gameplay. SpellForce 3 Reforced and its Complete Edition are already available for pre-order on the PS Store and Microsoft Store. There will also be next-gen console support available via a free upgrade. The thing for me is - the VA/Model carried Kassandra. The VA was amazing. But her story was not that great (IMO). But for Bayek, the lore carried him. His story, to me was just too good. The pain of losing his son, abandoning the Medjay Code that he had lived through-out his life, to the point of betraying the Pharaoh, founding of the AC with his (former) wife who had become obsessed - all of that was great. In contrast, the main lore of Kassandra, I remember is only people shouting Misthios again and again, and by mid-game everyone praising her to the high heavens, to the point she had become capable of influencing entire nations. Heck, even the Persians were afraid of her, as though she was a God. The only story beat that I enjoyed was that of the young girl who was with her in the beginning. Kassandra/Alexios were never Assassins in the first place. They were generals. Bayek started as a warrior, but became an Assassin the hard way. I did not post this as she was not an MC, but I found even Aya better than Kassandra/Alexios story-wise. Of course, all of this is just my opinion, so it's fine if you dis-agree.

Hopefully it does. The game is discounted. Ubi's main money-maker is AC: Valhalla. They are also pushing for the next AC to be live service. So why not just take Sony's money and put it for free on PS+? Those who are interested have already bought it. Another big profile game that I hope comes is TLOU2. That game is also permanently discounted, and the main revenue from that will come is from MP. So why not promote sales of PS+ by giving the SP section for free? Of course both will not be on same month. But I hope it happens.

For me, it's Ezio = Evie Frye > Edward > Jacob Frye > Bayek > Kassandra + Alexios Dead Last = The personality-less blob called Eivor Chances are AC: Odyssey might come to PS+ next month

So which of the Big 3 is there this time? I know MS is there. What about Sony and Nintendo? Also, any list of the major publishers attending this Gamescom? Hope this is better than E3 (Which to me was very disappointing tbqh).

What games are you currently playing?
roun90 replied to WhiteWolf's topic in News, Rumours and Discussions
I play - on and off though since my MSQ is complete and waiting for new expansion (Levelling Crafters and Alt Jobs + mount hunting in mean time). What server are you playing in? -
Frankly, I would have loved it if they had done it like Final fantasy 7 Remake. Give the upgrade free and sell the DLC for Rs 1600. Skip the Director's commentary if you want (maybe even lip sync if it's too much work - it's not like people will notice much anyway. You don't even see the mouths most of the time). Right now, I can't even get FOMO up - considering I will not be able to play the PS5 version, and will know there is a better version out there despite shelling out money for DLC. Frankly, utter nonsense to charge almost a 1000 rs just for the upgrade. Oh well, I do have other games I want to buy coming soon (Tales of Arise and Lost Judgement). Will prioritize those and get this later in a sale, if I want.

The first and the last Yakuza game where you will ever get to drive. Enjoy it while you can. Unlike the Mafia, the Yakuza can't drive you see. That privilege is reserved only for Taxi Drivers in Japan (Racing is really fun though. Completed it. Was absolutely worth it.) In a way, PS3 version was better for Y5. You could also literally go to a store, and read manga straight out of the shelves (real manga).

Very correct. I didn't like Saejima as well, even back then. Will give a pass to story because it was my first Yakuza game - which means my first Japanese Realistic Crime Drama game. Tanimura (3rd character) is bad, but the Kiryu segment and finale are pretty neat. But these are the inspirations for the future. Saejima combat made the Beast style of other games. Tanimura combat made the quick style of other games etc. But this is just me. I played this as my 1st Yakuza game, so it will not be bad to me. But if I had started with Y0 like so many others, Y4 would not be worth it at all. Out of the entire collection - only Y5 is great. You should complete that. Even the story is pretty good. it's also important because Y5 ties into Y6 - which in turn ties into Y7 (Like a Dragon). All 3 are pretty great.

I was able to log in. Login was slow, plenty of errors and security questions changed, but was able to somehow get it. Thanks @HundredProofSam. Don't want to use Google Authenticator in case I have to change my mobile (already burned with transferring Uplay and the struggles there).

No PC Logins work. I'm typing from mobile. Not sure if I will be able 5o post if I ever log out. This has been happening since the past 1 week at least I think. Any idea for help mods/admins?

Y4 was the experiment, back in the day. Tons of improvements you see now - right from the new engine (Y0 engine), multiple cities, multiple combat styles (Beast style, brawler style etc.), multiple characters - all were the result of Y4. Before that, it was only Kiryu, 1 city and 1 combat style (Now known as Dragon Style). It was great back in the PS3 days. Y4 was my first Yakuza game (which I just got on a whim from 2nd hand discount bin), and what made me love the series.

I would generally agree with you. Plenty of advantages to that - not the least of which, you can find out if the HW has massive problems like X360 RRoD and make informed decision. But there were some things that were different this gen - 1) People were bored sitting at home, Covid on top 2) Massive FOMO. This was all the more compounded by the fact that consoles were not available and scalper prices were exorbitant. I don't expect this problem to be cured any time soon. Look at even the PC market. Good luck if you are looking to buy any of the 30xx GPUs at reasonable prices. Same for phones and all other electronics. There was a sense of - I got the console at a reasonable price. Now I'm set for the next 8 years. No need to worry. 3) The launch line up was actually great. In fact, I would say this is the best launch line up in all the gens. PS5 exclusives were great. XBox GPU was great. And best of all - you could play games at 60/120 fps - 4k (with/without RT) right from the start. None of the other gens ever did this. Overall, this gen IMO justified the console purchase at launch.

The named Black Phantoms (Who only appear if you are at Pure Black WT) are still very hard, and can counter. For example - your strategy of hit bounce shield - BP Satsuki (Whom I posted), will after certain amount of damage - heal himself (, while you are rolling and waiting for stamina to refill). Then again come to damage you. Any damage you take, will be a waste of your grass. He will also dodge and roll just like you. So you do need to be somewhat aggressive. Such encounters then - when to be aggressive and when to go defensive, become very fun.

99.9% yes it's also delayed (Leaving the 0.1% because there is no official announcement). SE has not even shown a proper playable build of the game yet. This tweet is the last known news from FF16 This is just what I think is happening. The FF16 team is very busy with FF14: Endwalker, which is releasing November,2021. I don't think they will release FF16 this year, rushing out the quality, overworking the team on 2 major AAA games (in Covid times) and then each cannibalizing the others' sales and quality. If you like FF though, you really should try FF14 sometimes (If you've not tried it already). If you can play an MMORPG (and get through the base game) - It's a true, worthy successor to the great FF games of old (FF 1-9), unlike the modern mess the series has become ever since FF X-2 released.
