Honestly can you blame WB? Ask these over-paid and over-hyped "Directors" and "Actors" whether they are ready to see their pay-checks and financing delayed till 2022 when footfalls at theaters will normalize? What will be their reactions? Right now they are taking free money, making movies for free from WB - while at the same time "insisting" that their "vision" will be ruined out of theaters and WB is not to make a cent till people come to theaters. Oh but keep the acting and directing pay-check ready. We will not have a single day delay on that - pandemic or not. It's not just the big front end guys as well. WB has to pay their entire back end staff plus WB's own staff as well. All the while making zero or very less income because theaters are still risky, and in many places still closed.

PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

You realize consoles have weaker hardware just now? It's always been like this since at least last gen (Before that we had "Custom Technology" which might/might not be more powerful than PCs like Emotion or Cell vs x86 of PCs) Thing is, many devs (Other than PC dedicated ones) will milk the console hardware to the maximum extent possible while leaving the PCs "more powerful" hardware to brute force through with abysmal optimization. It's why we have such stuff like Last of Us 2 or Ghost of Tsushima in 2013 hardware and why games like Horizon/many EA-Ubi etc games have pathetic optimization on PC. In the grand scheme of things, everything will be equalized by a matrix of Low Power + Hard Work vs High Power + Laziness. -
Watch everyone be hyped for the "Woah 12 new games" and then find out at least 11 of those be "PixelArt" or something with maybe 1 good title somewhere and the last one be a AAA that has no release window at all (Maybe even no new trailer). Then everyone comes to forums to complain about it being the most disappointing show of all time. Happens every time In this case, I agree with the win. Tsushima is an excellent game, and both would be on equal starting point. But SP went "above and beyond" when they released the Legends Mode. Considering Legends can be a game all to itself and is a masterpiece by itself as well - while Last of Us 2 MP (Factions Mode) or extras is nowhere to be seen, GoT takes this.

It's not only Sony exclusives. Each and every game drop drastically in a couple of months, unless the game has a "Nintendo" somewhere in it's name, is an MMORPG (Sub prices) or is so obscure that only very select people buy it. The main attraction of sub services like GP/EA Play/Ubisoft + etc. is it's cheap prices "At Day 1". If people waited 2-4 months, every single game would be owned at massive discounts.

Yup, console unlock times are almost always different from PC. "Release Date" matters on console than release time. So if a date is set as 10th, it will unlock 10th midnight of that account time (Indian Preorder = Indian 12 am unlock; US Preorder = US 12 am unlock etc.) So PS users at least will play the game some 6 hours before PC players.

It might be better if they don't announce it tomorrow. That way - there is a chance it will be announced next year and come out in 2022/23. They have already announced FF16. Let them work on that (and FF14 next expansion which should come soon as well). The last time SE "announced" multiple major JRPG projects, the first game in the announcement was delayed by 5 years (FF13), the 2nd game was delayed to next gen (FF Type 0), the 3rd game was delayed to mid/almost end of next gen (FF Vs 13) and the almost certain announcement was delayed to the very end of the next gen (KH3). A spectacular disaster all around. It's a jinx. But then again, if they do announce it (maybe with proper gameplay and all) - it will be absolutely fun and amazing. Bah now I don't know what I want.
-
Didn't those 2 come out just recently (as in hardly 1-2 months ago)? I've never seen KH games being announced so fast. But then again, Disney might have something to do with this. Can't imagine them being happy at the usual pace with which SE makes games. Anyway, hope there might be some major announcements. All shows this year were a complete bust, no new next gen tech is available in majority of the World (including the West) and we don't know what the status of the next year will be like yet. Some major new announcements will really end this year on a sweet note - which is sorely needed,

Wonder what new diseases 2020 will bring before it ends? Perhaps something innovative like the Dancing Plague? "In July 1518, a woman whose name was given as Frau (Mrs.) Troffea (or Trauffea) stepped into the street and began dancing. She seemed unable to stop, and she kept dancing until she collapsed from exhaustion. After resting, she resumed the compulsive frenzied activity. She continued this way for days, and within a week more than 30 other people were similarly afflicted. They kept going long past the point of injury. City authorities were alarmed by the ever-increasing number of dancers. The civic and religious leaders theorized that more dancing was the solution, and so they arranged for guildhalls for the dancers to gather in, musicians to accompany the dancing, and professional dancers to help the afflicted to continue dancing. This only exacerbated the contagion, and as many as 400 people were eventually consumed by the dancing compulsion. A number of them died from their exertions. In early September the mania began to abate." Source: https://www.britannica.com/event/dancing-plague-of-1518

Yup, same opinion. Unless the game is going out of it way to purposely insult a set of people - which I don't think CDPR is doing atm, it should be ignored. Same. Still can't get how people are so ready to call an obvious pandemic a hoax and putting so many people's lives on the line. Also, just can't picture how people even think calling themselves Nazis is any way good or belittling so many people's lives to the point that even death and slavery is OK. These people remind me of the modern day "White Man's Burden" Believers/Title-Holders.

I disagree. It's a random poster in some random area in a game which has 1000s of posters. They most probably just put in a random poster generator and brought it out. The thought that went into it is as much as the thought that goes into Random Machine Generated "Radiant" Quests in Skyrim. Of course they will highlight her. First up, in a contest if it's a good cosplay it's their job to highlight it. Second, as the saying goes "No publicity is bad publicity". If the Era people had not raised such a hue and cry (Magnifying the random poster by almost 200% I think), that character would not have literally become a poster-child for the game, next to Keanu Reeves. It's just putting the game name out and causing that much more hype - even if people criticize it to the end. No one would even have bothered to cosplay as her/him if leftists had not raised such a hue and cry. How many cosplays are you seeing of the other posters? They have only themselves to blame.
-
It's absolutely ridiculous. I mean - the entire outrage was over a f***ing poster. I doubt CDPR even thought anything beyond - We need a Cyberpunk themed Poster, and since a CP universe is filled with excess, let's show this as a generic poster. It would have been forgotten and 99% of the people would not even have seen it. I think originally the poster was even magnified for it to be observed. The focus on this is entirely the fault of Reset era and their type of people. Now people are even cosplaying as that poster character. Even if they wanted to CDPR can't control it because those are not employees, they are cosplayers. CDPR can't control what they cosplay as. Now, the character has become so popular that there will most probably be an NPC made of it - and I highly doubt CDPR is going to bother searching for a trans person to voice him/her. Considering the sales, I also doubt whether CDPR is even bothered by these types of opinions. The only thing this is going to affect is - the list of "Who is going to get the freebies and press kits for review". Considering the popularity CDPR has now, I don't even think they need a ton of press. Some YouTube videos uploaded by CDPR themselves and videos like Night City Wire is more than enough. Maybe some major reviewers like IGN etc. That's all. They need the 3rd party press like Rockstar needs 3rd party press for a new GTA Game. It's the streamers/random youtubers/bloggers who are at a loss here.
-
If they are this mad over Cyberpunk sales, the show over Harry Potter sales would be legendary. Wonder if they'll go to the streets and organize hunger strikes ala Indian Protest style? They should also go after Rockstar/Next GTA because you can go against suffrage and do violence against women in RDR2 (even if it's only parody and you are penalized heavily for it). The sales report and their reaction would be epic as well. The USA "Leftists" went after CDPR and you can see the result. The USA "Rightists" also went after ND and it's sales showed them as well. It's like people like good games and don't care about propaganda and politics in entertainment and fiction-land.

I didn't watch the video. But I don't think CDPR was concerned at all about either his tweets or his views. They simply did not want a stream. CDPR did warn some 3 days ago that they don't want any streaming at all until Dec. 9th (Which is when I think embargo ends). They are just following their policy and their warning. They really are doubling down on ensuring that there be no spoilers online. It's easy to say a reviewer/streamer is not showing any spoilers - until he/she does show a spoiler (either accidentally or purposely). After that it doesn't matter whether the video is taken down or not or any action is taken against the streamer or not - Spoiler will be on the entire net in a couple of seconds. After The Last of Us 2 - in which spoilers nearly ruined the game, devs are far more careful about streaming protocols. Let it be. CDPR worked hard on the game and they deserve to see the game delivered fresh to customers, just as the players themselves deserve to have a spoiler free game. Here is the Warning Tweet by CDPR:

DRAGON QUEST XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age & Definitive Edition
roun90 replied to Heaven Angel's topic in Games
There are extra character stories (New episodes to flesh out each character), new areas and I think the game is expanded somewhat plus more romance options (But Extras are nothing even remotely close to what P5R was over P5). If this is the first time anyone is playing DQXI, this might be great. For those who have already completed DQXI - this might not be worth it at all, especially due to the graphical downgrade (The Original was really beautiful). OST also I'm not sure if it's fully orchestrated or only some tracks are orchestrated. -

Persona 5 Scramble will also be similar I'm afraid. Originally developed for Switch and then ported to PS4 and Steam for the Western Markets. It might also have lesser graphics than Persona 5 Royal and from what I heard, it's a sequel to the base game, so might not reference the new events in Persona 5 Royal. -
Not only same day, but the show is also almost at the same time as Cyberpunk 2077 unlock time. Wonder how it's going to affect the show viewership numbers.

I know Dragon Age is a massive IP but - anyone else feel absolutely not interested in this game? I mean DA:Origins was absolutely amazing, but the series has gone downhill since, with Inquisition only being "OK". Meanwhile, during the massive silence between the DA 4 announcement till now, we had absolutely amazing games like Divinity and Pillars of Eternity, and the fact that EA being EA - they are putting "Live Service" (a.k.a Monetization) in this game using Anthem's tools and codebase, I just cannot muster up any interest. Kinda feel the series is dead (Spiritually) and they are only throwing an empty shell in front of us just to keep making continuous money from the same game.
-
Then prepare to be disappointed. Other "Recent" FFs are not as good as FF7R or P5. FF7R is trending high because it's a remake of a game from the glory days of Square Enix + it has a brand new gameplay system not seen before in the series, which is actually good. After this, I would suggest you try out Nier Automata. It's an absolutely amazing game + action combat (Make sure you get the first 5 endings - Endings A to E to see the full story.) If you want more hardcore strategic approach try out Valkyria Chronicles Remastered. If you're fine with cartoony graphics - try out Ni No Kuni Remastered (or NNK2 if you want more action oriented gameplay). If you don't mind poor graphics, Trails of Cold Steel is there. For more Persona there is Persona 4 Golden on PC (I hope they announce Persona 6 soon) and for more Final Fantasy I would wait for FF16. Since it's being made by the FF14 team I have high hopes it will be amazing (FF14 is amazing, but it's an MMO so can't recommend it to those who don't like MMOs) Anyway welcome to the World of JRPGs - my favorite genre of all time.

No need to go back to 15 year old games or even the 6 year old 3DS ones. SMT5 will be coming to Switch (and maybe even PS4?) in 2021 or 2022 I think. You don't need to know anything. Just go in blind, play and enjoy the experience. Old stories are not necessaries (Some small easter eggs for fans, that's about it) and the game does a good job of explaining the basics to you. You can play with that itself, but there is a ton of depth that you can unlock if you experiment. Just remember - try to complete the Palaces (Dungeons) as as less tries as possible (in 1 try if at all possible, though it might be hard in the beginning) so you can have more time for the Social Aspect of the game.

AFAIK Shin Megami Tensei and Persona are both spin-offs of the base series - which is Megami Tensei. There are I think around 7-8 series which are spin-offs, including stuff like Digital Devil Saga, Devil Survivor, Demikids etc. Persona by itself, I don't think is a spin-off of SMT, but both are parallel spin-offs. That said, it's best to ignore everything if you're playing Persona. Don't want anyone getting the idea that to play Persona 5, you need to play an obscure 1980s set of games. Persona is it's own series. Especially since Persona 3. Persona 3 did not even have the "Shin Megami Tensei" title in Japan, they just added it to the US since Nocturne was big at the time. Ever since P4G when Persona stood on it's own - the SMT title was discarded. Now, Persona is too big a franchise for SMT. It's far bigger than SMT ever was. In fact, I won't be surprised if they market SMT5 as a spin-off or "From the Makers of" of Persona. Quality wise though - I think current Persona is far above SMT. SMT these days is a glorified dungeon crawler with a healthy dose of depression. Persona is in the real world and the characters feel real, the relationships and friendships you make, the interactions - all feel realistic and amazing. You feel like you're forming friendships, the city feels alive and when it's time for the game to end - you feel sad that your time with the quirky cast is coming to an end. SMT discards all that and without Confidants/Social Links - it's like 50% of the game is stripped off in favor of only dungeon crawling aspect - which is not where the most fun lies. This is just my opinion ofc.

Welcome to Persona!! Do keep in mind one thing though (I'm assuming you got this from PSN India): Play the game on your Indian PSN - even if your remaining trophies from other games are on US PSN. Atlus will routinely send you awesome goodies based on your progress, so long as you upload/sync associated trophy (It will be sent to your registered email which purchased the game) and you will miss out on it if you play it on another account. I think one of the users here missed out on it, when I initially posted about it because of above reason. @CarbonCore It was you who could not get the goodies due to playing on US account after Indian purchase right?

One thing I wanted to ask people talking about 120 fps on consoles here - do you guys have a 144hz TV? How are you able to output 120 fps when I've not heard of much 144hz TVs at all. BC even highly premier TVs like Sony A9F don't have 144hz mode. And those TVs are 2.5 - 3 lakh+ for 55" versions. If you're having that kind of budget to game (144 hz is useless for TV shows and the like) why not just buy a Top of the line PC with AMD 5900x/Intel 10900 + RTX 3090. Will still be far better than both Series X and PS5 combined.

PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread
roun90 replied to kmkaks's topic in News, Rumours and Discussions
AC Unity? You are taking far too much power if you are talking about 2070 or something. An i5/i7 5xxx CPU (Broadwell Processors launched in 2014) and a GTX 1070 or heck even a GTX 1060 (most probably) will be more than enough to get close to 100 fps at Ultra (Note: All Consoles use High to Medium Settings, with more demanding options set at Medium. Ultra is far more demanding with major stuff like Textures, Shadows, LOD etc. being better) AC Unity is old. It might be taxing for Maxwell cards which was when it was released, but by Pascal, the immediate next gen - it's already sorted out. Plus, major issue of Unity was it's pathetic optimization. Something which almost all PCs can just brute force away since quite some years. Heck, my 1080ti is so powerful that it gives 60 fps+ on AC:Valhalla at full Ultra Settings (1440p). Now, we are 2 gens away from Pascal and around 5 gens from Broadwell CPUs. Bragging about a game released in 2014 for a 2020 XSX is not a good comparison. -
PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread
roun90 replied to kmkaks's topic in News, Rumours and Discussions
Oh my! This is beyond pathetic. You should have informed them that getting any console on day 1 here is a privilege and not a right. AFAIK there was no console ever to have launched here on launch (except maybe PS4 Pro, but even that was problematic). It will be lucky if they get it by Jan-Feb. Generally, minimum delay would have been up to April-June, and this time due to Covid, chances are official launch can even be 1 year later (Next Nov-Dec) or even more in 2022. PAL Stocks will always be funneled to EU first, then ME and finally any pieces left over will come here. Sony has proven this time and again. If it was not for digital we would not have gotten games Day 1 here as well. Even in PS4 gen, they re-routed Horizon stock, Spiderman stock and everything else to ME first and only brought it here when people stopped buying it over there, to the point stocks were left over. Wonder why people thought it will be different this time. Maybe Sony should have advertised the 19th Nov Release as "Most of the World" instead of "The Whole World" so people would have been patient and the execs here could have caught a break. MS launching here on 1st day is actually great and they should receive a commendation for that. When they said Whole World, they meant it. That's how distribution should be done and Sony should learn from them. -
The 2nd game is a sequel to the first game also. Spoilers for 1st Mafia DE, so you can read if you've completed it.
