  1. MS has a strategy all right. The current MS does not actually care about "Gaming" Specifically. Satya Nadella came in and he's all about the power of the internet. "Game Pass" is not an end goal as much as a first step. The "Dream End Goal" is the xCloud/Azure. Once that is up and running, GamePass will truly be the Netflix of gaming. The Xbox Console machine will only be a device to run games with a dedicated controller on TVs that might not support the Xbox App. The Xbox App will be on everything and a sub revenue (which people are already used to due to GP) will be the major revenue earner from all possible devices - not just the Xbox machine or PC. Without Azure, most probably, new Xbox Conxole would not have been supported much at all.
  2. Yup, but you need to have Item/Gear Level 100 before you can participate. They also disabled matchmaking for the raid since according to them you need proper communication and co-operation. So you have to bring along 4 friends. Preferable to have your friends of different classes, so one can tank, one can DPS, one can heal etc., plus of course have levelled up and unlocked full abilities of your class https://www.thesixthaxis.com/2020/10/28/ghost-of-tsushima-legends-raid-release-date-and-requirements/ Who knows, there might be even more raids. SP really knocked it out of the park.
  3. @playstationdude They are opening a Kingdom Hearts Cafe in Japan to celebrate the release of Memory of Melodies till Jan 31st, 2020. Since you're a fan of KH, keep in mind if you're going that way. First Image is Sea Salt Ice Cream BTW For more images, the entire menu and the address please visit https://www.rpgfan.com/2020/11/26/kingdom-hearts-melody-of-memory-themed-cafe-opening-up-in-tokyo-on-december-11th/ Enjoy!!
  4. Don't forget to try Legends Mode (MP) as well. It's really good.
  5. You can get Valhalla PS5 digitally though (PS4 version included) - at half the price. And since it's almost 50% off from 8k, there is not much sense in getting physical.
  6. I would blame Ubisoft more than One X OS. Valhalla is the first game to take advantage of Ubisoft Connect. It's forced on all platforms. Benefits include stuff like cross-progression, even on non-family of consoles. Say, you got Valhalla on PC/PS4/PS5 later, your Xbox Progress (So long as save is uploaded to Cloud) will carry over even on PS or PC. Downside though, is that Ubisoft Connect is still a buggy mess. Game Shut down while taking screenshots, Game Crashes/Shutdown randomly - all are happening.
  7. Done it when it unlocked itself and already the top company in Yokohama. Finished the story associated with it. Absolutely fun mini-game. An absolute blast.
  8. Yes, fairly common in India - especially places like Mumbai. The best TV (OLED, 4k etc.) is almost always in the Hall/Living Room (So everyone can watch it). Console is also connected to best TV most times - for the best experience. The Living Room is also most of the times not air-conditioned. Are you suggesting that everyone in India goes on a video game strike against Mother Nature for 4-5 months of the year? Or that everyone has TVs worth lakhs in all the rooms, so they can play all the time in air-conditioned glory? Look there are points where you can applaud Sony - but if this report is true, this is not one of those situations. And yes, people do play video games at 40 degrees. You might not - but then you are not the representative of the entire 1.3 Billion Population of India.
  9. Unless the console and games sell the quantity that Samsung mobiles sell. In that case - it will not only be manufactured here, you will get it here before the US even and they will even light up 1 monument in all 4 major metros to promote it. On the flip side, govt. will regulate it heavily here like China and Censor Board will also bring it's insane rules into play.
  10. Hmm I think you should get an XSX by January at the latest, looking at current orders (I'm taking major delays here). But I thought you had already got an order in on Amazon/FK + had contacted local retailers just to be sure as well. Dammit!! You just had to go there didn't you. I can picture it now - "Patanjali Manoranjan Console" Tag Line: "Shuddh aur Sanskari" Manufactured in some unit in Baddi, HP or some district of Gujarat. Custom Games that are completely Sanskaar Compliant. Meanwhile, Sony and MS Consoles + All phoren PC Parts infinitely delayed, and imports are heavily taxed. Plus new censor board that ensures everything is proper Sanskaari standard. And since India is not China, no one bothers to sell games here at all except domestic Patanjali ones.
  11. Well, let's just agree to disagree shall we? Ultimate truth is - no one can change anyone's opinion (especially strangers on the internet). And what's worth it to each person is different and personal to each of them. Fighting will only result in a waste of time due to a useless argument going round and round and generating negativity. You got an XSX. It's the absolute right purchase for you. It's an excellent machine and will run games extremely well.
  12. They already tried low pricing of games in India. India had insane regional pricing alongside countries like Russia. It miserably failed. Sales did not improve and "Gaming Market" did not grow much. Rather, all people abroad started taking advantage and used Indian versions in US etc. which was a big loss for the companies. Companies have given up hope. Which is why we are where we are today. The only common console I remember after the modded PS2 was the Wii - which people got only for Wii Sports and nothing else. For gaming to succeed here (market to grow), more than the price - the mentality of the people has to change. The vast majority still view gaming, not as a hobby - but as a children's plaything (just like cartoons). Without that changing first - no cheap gaming will succeed here. Smartphone gaming is increasing, which is a first step. But that is not enough. People buy smart phones for a lot of stuff and many game while doing other work. Very few will buy a dedicated console that only plays games or Netflix type apps. As far as you personally being able to afford to buy a game or not - what the heck does that have to do with anything? For you, there are options like GP, 2nd hand etc. Lot of people can afford far less, even though they like it. Game Price Rise - I will support, if necessary for games that I personally like (Which is not all games). Inflation will happen. Unfortunately, our economy being miserable and our govt. and general people focusing on everything except the economy, jobs and prices, easing up of businesses etc. - worsens the problem a lot. But there are consequences for that. For example, the quantity of games I buy will reduce. Ultimately prices will reach appropriate level and market will equalize. That's what Free Market is. It definitely does not mean I would like a sub only future where 99% are GAAS, minor 3rd parties and games like GOT or Spiderman which requires substantial investment will cease to exist. Again quantity vs quality. You can get 100 games cheap, but mediocre. Or you can get 10 games more expensive, but exceptional (maybe even legendary). Which choice do you make? I personally will go for the latter one. Especially since a decent enough (not top of the line mind you, but just decent enough to not be completely outdated) PC will give you those mediocre games at lesser than GP Prices anyway.
  13. Again, that's also worth. For example, to you a game is worth only 1000 Rs. If game was available Day 1 at 1000 Rs - you will get it. Anything above - not worth it. That's fine. But, there is no compulsion to buy Games Day 1 as well. You can even buy next month 2nd hand. Or even later. The only games that compel Day 1 purchase are MP games with progression systems, because you can't play if you're too far behind. But in a sub only future - you are trading certain types of games for mass quantity, and not necessarily at Day 1 either. Whether that trade off is worth it for you - that's your viewpoint again. It's not worth it for me. Hence even here - value of which console to buy comes into place - which is different for different people. What @HundredProofSam said - is what my opinion is.
  14. For all the price talk going on here - As consumers games worth and prices are decided by you personally, based on your experience. Companies will charge whatever maximum they can. It's their job to do, when they have nothing to fall back on like MTX, MP only games, having no exclusives but only 3rd party deals for old games etc. What is a game worth to you? It's quite personal. Is the experience provided by God of War worth 5k to you? If so, buy at launch. If not, buy in a sale or later down the line. Don't expect companies to drastically reduce their prices day 1, just because it's not worth it to you. If enough people don't feel the price is worth it - prices will come down automatically. If it's only you and 5 others, you have the option of buying it on sale, 2nd hand, later down the line etc. For me, some games are absolutely worth it even at 5k. For example, if Persona 6 comes tomorrow, or a new yakuza or Ghost of Tsushima 2 - I'm willing to spend 5k for it. Because it gives me that enjoyment worth 5k (100s of hours of absolute fun. In fact I did spend 5.5k for Yakuza 7 Legendary Edition). I also purchased Ni No Kuni 2 Prince's Edition at launch for 6.5k, because it was worth it to me. At the same time, I would not spend 5k for TLOU3, Horizon 2 or heck even GTA 6 etc., despite it's stellar reviews. Because that is not that enjoyable for me that I will pay full launch price. Though, I recognize that it would be worth it for some people. At the current lot of exclusives, if PS5 comes here, I'm willing to spend 5k for Demon's Souls Remake. Because, for me, it's looking awesome and is the best launch title. So all this talk of prices is moot. Because worth of every game is personal. It's also why I will go with PS5 this gen (unless for some reason I have to buy multiple consoles) - because games that are worth it to me personally, will come to PS5. This despite no Gamepass. And I'm willing to give full price (Up to what I feel is worth it) for those particular games. In a way, it's also why I'm not impressed with sub services as the only option. It takes away your sense of value and replaces it with whatever the sub holder decides. Ultimately, this will lead to less or even no highly grand, very expensive SP games or even SP focused games with no MTX being made. It's the MMO model again, keep shoving content that takes a long time to do (Here: keep making games that take a long time to achieve anything) so the play-time is high and sub money keeps on flowing, with maybe some 3rd party deals here and there to act as differentiators.

    Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 won't support RTX on PC AMD Cards at launch https://www.pcgamer.com/cyberpunk-2077-wont-support-raytracing-on-amd-cards-at-launch/ Perhaps this is why "Next Gen" Updates for Consoles are also not available at launch? We know CDPR has a partnership with NVidia for CP2077 and both consoles are using AMD Tech.
  16. Ghost of Tsushima. Gameplay for GOT is absolutely amazing and GOAT. Absolutely fun. Characters are also great, world is great, exploration is amazing and graphics are also exceptional. Plus it has a multiplayer that is absolutely amazing as well. TLOU can wait, if you can't get both.
  17. Speaking of PS3 and PS5 - how powerful is the Cell Processor still? I remember the Octocamo of MGS 4 and how Kojima was proud that it was only possible with the Cell Processor. Being a living chameleon with costume changing to match the terrain on the fly without any menus, interface or loading was amazing. We are now in the PS5 gen and I still have not seen it repeated. Perhaps x86 is quite weak and if Cell were updated for modern times, we might see still more mind-blowing stuff? Feels like Sony abandoned it because of lazy 3rd poarties.
  18. So another Youtube watch, just for the last cutscene - exactly like Re:mind Thanks for testing and confirming. Some rythm games, like Persona 4 DAN does provide more story, but I honestly suck at them. Too busy looking at the button prompts to see the actual scene.
  19. What the heck happened here? slackerninja used to be an admin here and now even other admins are sh**ing on him?
  20. Maybe comparisons are premature, but XSX is in no way equal to PS3. Cell Architecture itself was completely different and alien. It's clusters were used in Supercomputers at the time and keeping PS3 on could help hospitals in their research (That PS3 program Sony developed). Meanwhile the XSX, just like the PS5, X1, X360 and PS4 is nothing more than a glorified mini-PC. There is no alien technology in there. Devs might find a better way to optimize development later, but you're not going to find anything completely mind-blowing just because "Completely new tech that devs have gained mastery over".
  21. I would say a great deal of this has to do with the legacy of the PS2. I don't think the Original Xbox was ever here at all. Meanwhile after the clone NES/SNES times, the only console I've ever seen in the country is the PS2. People who came from abroad brought PS2, which was a huge attraction. All console cybercafes, even in interior places and villages had PS2. PS2 was modded pretty fast, so tons of people just got it and brought pirated games at 50 Rs/100 Rs from railway station areas. First Mover Advantage + Widespread availability + Ability to play stuff at cheap cost (literally free or very less due to piracy = consoles meaning Playstation here) Over time, the meaning of console here changed to simply Console = Playstation. Just like Mineral Water = Bisleri. The fact that the PSP continued this trend helped a lot as well. AFAIK people started hearing about Xboxes here only during the time of 360, but by then the glamor of PS had already long set in. It's changed now though. Now, people know about both Playstation and Xbox, and that means MS is doing it's job here.
  22. They will need to prove their mettle first. Pitch an idea to Sony that they would get behind. It's obvious Sony supports them a lot, so if the idea has merit, Sony will back them up (So long as it's not too costly for a 1st title). Release the title, wow the audience and then they can think of getting full AAA budgets for their own titles. Obviously, it will be a new IP. Only with that can Bluepoint's name stick. Plus, Sony cannot risk their existing giant IPs getting tarnished with a flop game. But as it is right now, they are very successful remastering old titles. They actually do not need to make new games. Money will keep flowing in and they are anyway known as the go-to team for remakes. But if they wish to grow and put their names first - they will have to make a new game someday.
  23. Ofc chances are he also received PS5 as a gift and is genuinely selling it (It's full profit if he received for free anyway). But in either case, I would suggest to just wait. There are not many PS5 games atm to justify absence of warranty. And with all the problems popping up lately, including in units given to big streamers - it's just not worth it.
  24. Also @Animus Main thing I can think of is he is trying to do jhumla like convert black cash to white or something (Find way to use black cash to buy UK PS5, sell it here at cost/no profit/slight loss) and voila - white money. That's my guess anyway. Ofc he could be selling cat food as well.
  25. You do know - there are other purposes of such transactions, than simply "Selling for Profit". Would be for wrong purposes, but it's there.
