Which retailer said that pre-orders were opening this week?

AFAIK, Zotac, Asus etc will have better cooling. FEs generally skimp out on cooling. So if you are going FE, you will have to invest in your own cooling. People who do liquid cooling or custom cooling like @Joe Cool did - FE is the best bet. If you just want to just plug and play - get the after market cards.

Google Journalism. Most probably the writer just googled "Where to buy PS5" and went with the first link that came up. Did not even bother to check that Target is a US Chain and not present in India.

As of now at least, the answer seems - No. Even on the Xbox Store Page, there is no listing for Gamepass for this game. Just the full purchase (Generally if a game is available on GP, it will be mentioned on the store page). Kind of strange - since MS is promoting this game on their console. Maybe it will come on GP at some point in the future, some months or years down the line? (Most probably it will, since some Yakuza games are on there, but this is not.) Seems MS paid for marketing, but did not pay sales compensation for putting it in GP/Making it exclusive (Most sales for Yakuza and all JP games are expected on PS anyway) I'll be playing this on PS4 on launch though. This is one game I'm looking forward to.

They are happily selling Demon's Souls (PS5 exclusive), different versions of AC: Valhalla (PS5 version is sold separate from PS4 version) etc on their India page. They have to bring out the console soon - or some people are accidentally going to buy PS5 version of the games, and get highly p**ed off when they find out they can't play it. Legal experts here - any grounds that someone can file a case against Sony on Consumer Court for selling games that don't work? PS5 legally does not exist here - so it should count as selling non-functioning software no?

Congratz man!! That's a beast of a build!! All set for everything maxed out gaming

PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

With that advice - When are you going next gen by building your PC and getting a 3080/3070? -
They should redistribute some to India. At least 1000 units in the country on launch please. I'm sure they can manage that. I talked to a local retailer (Official retailer) today, and he's saying that there are at least 50 enquires per day with him. He's pretty clear though - Sony is completely silent. And even if asked whether they will get stock in December - Sony does not reply. Imported (Grey) stock will come at the grey market rates with him - but that's a straight up loot. Not worth it. Pretty sad state of affairs

I remember. The feels are really hard in Akiyama's version. Far more than Majima's version. Baka-Mitai of Majima is the nostalgia for Yakuza 0 Game. But the Akiyama Version is literally the nostalgia for Akiyama the person himself. It was a song made for him. It's the original version for me. But only those who have played both Yakuza 4 and Yakuza 5 will understand it. Most of the people here started with Yakuza 0 and very few played the PS3 ones. Heck, did many people here even play the remastered Yakuza Collection here? There's no point in posting that video, if people don't even recognize that song and what is happening.

As far as packaging is concerned - it has always been that way with every company. All companies list the maximum of what is possible on the box. But their ads and all other marketing make it clear what the PS5 is about. It's in no way a 4k 120 fps machine - that's made clear, even in their most basic messaging. So I wouldn't call them out for fooling customers. As far as purchases are concerned, I will buy PS5 to play Demon's Souls, Ghost of Tsushima 2, Last of Us 3, God of War Ragnarok, Persona 6, Horizon 2, Days Gone 2, Bloodborne 2 and other major games + new IPs that will not see the light of day on PC. Plus games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Final Fantasy 16, RDR3, GTA 6, Most of Yakuza Games and others without waiting for 1+ years. I have a decent enough PC, don't see the need to upgrade soon (Not that big of a fan of RTX). I play games where it's appropriate. If port of a multi-plat game is good - PC, if it's a shooter or requires KB+M - PC again, if it requires combos or a racer - console, CRPGs - PC, Looters like Diablo - PC, Japanese Games - Console mostly, Turn Based Games - Consoles, if it's an exclusive I want - Console/PC as appropriate. I might upgrade my PC in future, but current gaming priority is PS5 - simply for the exclusives. My PC can still handle the current crop of multi-plat games, so no issues on that front. It's great to be a multi-format gamer, and not be stuck to one platform. You can have the best of both worlds.

Want to bet? I'm sure Gwent PS5 version or Slay the Spire PS5 Version will run at 4k 120 fps. GTA Vice City (Original) can also run at 4k 120 fps - if the port is as is.

PS4/Pro prices will most likely come down after PS5 dates are announced/launches here. That will be to clear stock. But that is their choice - if they want to clear stock quickly or not. If PS4/Pro sales are still going extremely well, they will not reduce prices, because market is still accepting both PS4 and PS5. There is value in PS4 for quite a bit of time. For one thing - PS4 library is massive, and most of the games are massively discounted. PS5 meanwhile, has a very limited selection of games, all at full prices, and rest of it as "TBD". As per usual, it's the games that matter, not just the hardware. They are not "fooling the uninformed". Their naming itself makes sure of that. Playstation "5" is the sequel to and is better than Playstation "4" - title itself says it all. On top of that, they have made it abundantly clear on all their ads and packaging as to what each console offers and which is more powerful. If people are uninformed and fooled even beyond that - well there is no helping it. As far as PS4 should have received a permanent reduction by now - that is also because of the market. Generally, sales slow down as more time passes after release. So prices are reduced in an attempt to increase sales. But if sales are happening regardless, why the heck will they reduce price?
-
Why the heck will there be discount all year round? Most probably the next round of discounts will be when we are close to Diwali or when PS5 dates are announced and they want to clear stocks of PS4s.Participating in the Amazon Sale/Flipkart Sale is not compulsory. It's not like there has been a price reduction (MRP Reduction), that you will see reduced prices at all times.

@adity Watch the video and weep. Fully watch it - don't just listen to the music. Feels hit hard. The true end of an era, man!!

When Courts in India want to - it can and does move very fast; almost at light speed. it's just that they generally don't want to move because lawyers and judges' livelihood is made by cases being dragged on and on. It's up to Sony to make the case move, and being a giant corporation (against a single small-time guy), they most probably have the ability to make the courts move quickly.

I kind of think it was unwise of them to start selling such stuff at the time of console launch itself (heck, during pre-order period). All companies will be extra jittery during this time to ensure that the launch goes well - including stuff like having no complaints of consoles going bad/breaking down (especially due to 3rd party stuff). I think if the plate guys and other 3rd party sellers had waited 1-2 years after launch, Sony (and all other companies) would not have cared (especially looking at the amount of fake 3rd party accessories in the market). Not saying the plate itself would have damaged the console, but Sony would most probably like to be extra 100% sure. On top of that, the trademark dispute would likely have brought the eyes of their legal team into all 3rd party sellers.

Enjoy man. I'm generally not a guy who watches Hindi Shows. But this one was just too good. Hope you and your family enjoy the end as well!!

This is the first time I heard it (Article is from 14th October, 2020) but: In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, you can play as both Male and Female Eivor and switch between them any time you want (even mid-game if you prefer). You are not locked to the choice you selected at the beginning of the game, like with Odyssey, where you selected either Alexios or Kassandra - and were stuck with the choice for the entire game. Not only that - both Male and Female Eivors are canon to the story and the game will automatically switch between both at some points. But you can manually switch otherwise in between anyway. The "switch" is not just a gameplay mechanic - it is an integral part of the story. You can choose to play as 1 character permanently (Either male or Female Eivor), but it will mean you will get fewer clues from the story as to why the "Switch" is happening. From Source: Narrative director Darby McDevitt previously said the game supported both male and female versions as canon, with a full explanation to follow. Well, this is the explanation. When Valhalla begins, you'll be able to choose to play entirely as female Eivor, entirely as male Eivor, or by default via a "Let the Animus decide" option, as revealed last night in a video clip from IGN. You can then repick from any of these options at any time. "It means 'Let the Animus decide' is canon," McDevitt later elaborated on Twitter. "And both characters will appear at various points when you choose this option. So both are canon." Assassin's Creed Valhalla narrative director Darby McDevitt has shed more light on the game's unusual decision to have you play as both male and female versions of main character Eivor different points. Responding to me via Twitter this afternoon, McDevitt said the game's default option which included both male and female Eivor was "integral to the story we're telling" but that it "spoil the story" to say more. "It enhances the story, IMO, and it doesn't happen frequently," McDevitt later added. "It always makes sense when the switch occurs." Of course, you can choose to play permanently as female or male Eivor at any point in the game, and doing so won't skip any story content connected to this mystery - but McDevitt teased you would get "fewer clues" as to why the switch might be happening. Gamepass will not come to PS because Sony will have to kill their PS Now Service if it comes. Plus, MS will have full control over GamePass and all titles offered - Something Sony cannot afford on their own system. For example, Metro 4 releases on PS and Xbox. MS puts the new Metro game on Gamepass. MS will earn full revenue on GP from Xbox and PC. MS will also earn most of the revenue from GP on PS. And because it's on GP in PS, no one will buy it - which means Sony will earn very less to minimal revenue from game sales on it's own system. Gamepass will not come to Nintendo - because it's Nintendo. They do not believe in free games or games for cheap. To give an example, their free games with Nintendo Switch Online are all NES Games. That is, they give out stuff like Excite Bike, Mario 1, Super Mario Bros etc. with their NSO sub. At least PS and Xbox give out free games of the same system with their sub services. Technically, games will run because of xCloud. Just like how Xbox games are running on all the Mi phones. But Nintendo themselves would not be interested. Overall, I do not see GP coming to either systems, unless there is a major shift in the industry. Removing Xbox as a competitor is not worth the amount of control both companies will lose if they allow GP on their platforms. It will remain what it is - a PR statement with talks not progressing at all (If it even starts).

Phil Spencer Open to Bringing Xbox Game Pass to both Playstation and Nintendo From Source: In a recent interview with Game Reactor, the Xbox boss spoke about Microsoft's approach to bringing Game Pass to new platforms. "I love the Switch, I love PlayStation, honestly, I think they've done an amazing job as being a part of this industry," he said. "I'm not sure that those are the next big set of users for us, but we could be open to those discussions." Source: https://www.gamesradar.com/xbox-boss-is-open-to-bringing-game-pass-to-switch-and-ps4/ If this does ever happen, the very last reason to ever own an xbox disappears completely.

It is possible, and I wrote this only after hearing from him - not guessing. GPU and CPU Utilization was fluctuating around 30%-50% or so according to what he saw - which means the game was not even using the full GPU/CPU Capabilities. Just taking a fraction and throwing out bad FPS. In situations like this - even bad Graphic games will give poor performance - because your game is not even taking advantage of Hardware. Classic Pathetic Optimization.

?? Genuine Appreciation or Attempt to sound "unbiased" and ensure he is not skipped over from the next round of PS5 freebies? Hard to decide

Watch Dogs optimization is pathetic. A friend of mine tried running it maxed out, RTX On, DLSS On at ultrawide 1440p resolution equivalent. Running it with a brand new RTX 3090 Asus Strix mind you. A card meant for 4k 60 fps without problems. He was running a resolution at almost half of 4k with DLSS On - which increases FPS. The FPS he got for the attempt was a grand total of 35 fps - 40 fps. That fps on an RTX 3090 - A card far more powerful than the PS5 or XSX is ridiculous. If you want to blame someone for Watch Dogs, blame Ubisoft. MS and Sony Hardware are in no way cause of poor performance.

AC Syndicate is British with the twins which introduced the rope for traversal. It's the game that came next after AC France and ran well without much bugs at all (Unlike France). The article has been removed and I think it was an error. I think they just meant to say AC India/Russia/China which are side-scrollers and no one cares about, but Syndicate got mixed in. Frankly Syndicate is a very good game. I played it recently and it still holds up. The banter between the Frye Twins and the overall characters were absolutely fun. I enjoyed it more than Odyssey I think. Losing Syndicate would be a bit sad.
