An absolutely amazing game. This game deserved every bit of the praise it got. So much content packed - 1 playthrough can last at least 30 hours and IS and Nintendo have ensured that you will do at least 4 unique, completely different play-throughs in just the vanilla game. Along with a promise of more story content to come via DLC/Expansion Pass Later. Amazing gameplay as well that I personally put in tons of hours without even noticing the time. Even my friend, who is new to Nintendo consoles (Switch is his first Nintendo console) and new to the series plays so much that time passes by without noticing. An absolutely amazing game, that forces you to think how to play and progress if you want an ideal playthrough, especially on harder difficulties.
Take a bow Nintendo and Intelligent Systems. You deserve it. One of your finest games, and absolute GOTY quality.

Which one is better - Qled or Oled? From a gaming/ dth perspective.
Having seen Sony OLED 4k (A8F was the model name I guess), I can tell you - nothing beats OLED. Seeing a non-OLED screen, after OLED, it's like half the colors are missing. The burn-in is a complete non-issue. You will not get it because almost all modern OLED TVs continuously refresh the image in the background (You will not even notice the image being refreshed). Burn in and other issues might only be a problem if you are using some Chinese uber-cheap brand that no one even heard of, which doesn't care to maintain quality.
QLED is a brand gimmick used by Samsung, whereas OLED is the actual technology that's considered the best in the industry currently. Would highly advise OLED any day for all purposes - even for gaming, OLED looks absolutely amazing, and you literally feel you are missing out on something when you play the same game on a non-OLED TV.

What a shite year.
Nope. It's been an amazing year so far. We are in August now. We had RE2 Remake in Jan - Legendary game; Devil May Cry 5 in March - an amazing game; Judgement in June - again a legendary game and Fire Emblem Three Houses in July - A legendary game that's so good that you will not even know how much time you're pouring into it.
This is just the exceptional and legendary category.
The we go into good games (Not Legendary, but still fun) - We have Ace Combat 7 in January - A very fun flight sim with amazing gameplay and soundtrack; Kingdom Hearts 3 - a good game, but nothing amazing and Division 2 - a lot of people liked this one, but it's not my cup of tea
And we are only 8 months into the year. AAA games at the end of the year like Death Stranding etc. are still left. Overall, it's been an amazing year so far, just taking AA and AAA games. But one thing you might notice is that almost all are Japanese games. If you were looking for Western Games, this might be a very boring year for you.

For me so far, it's been a tie between

Loved all three. Rest everything including DMC 5 etc. comes later down the list

Have done all the things to do for it to trigger, but I am on the last chapter and wearing a funeral suit if it matters ?
Generally when you are unable to do something (despite fulfilling all the conditions), just move ahead in the story. You might have reached a "Point of no return". At this point, you will have to finish the story, but will be able to access everything afterwards in the Premium Adventure mode (Basically free roam after finishing the main story).

@KyoyaHibari The game is meant to help you relax. Everything, right from the music, graphics and gameplay is designed to help you relax. It's an old school JRPG with old mechanics, updated for modern times. That's a huge part of the charm of this game. The story will have twists and turns. It does get very good and intense later on. But remember, this is a very long game. I had played it for 91 hours or so when I finished. You have to have patience till the twists arrive.
I loved this game, more than Detroit definitely. But if you don't like JRPGs or did not play them while growing up, this game might not be for you. Play Persona 5 if you want a more modern turn based game that you will like. Or play Yakuza, if you want an excellent, mature story and amazing open-world gameplay with literal tons of things to do.

Is there a chance that the extra content in P5R might be released as DLC?
I have played about 20 hrs of original P5 and had kept it on a backburner for quite some time now. I feel like getting into this now and finish up the game but I am now confused as to whether its worth it or not due to the release of P5R.
When is it coming to western market btw?
Doubt it. No other Persona Game re-releases put the additional content on base game as DLC. Besides, the games were over-hauled in such a way as to make the additional content as DLC very difficult. For one, entire gameplay systems were changed (Persona 4 Golden and presumably Persona 5 R as well). For another, the additional content was integrated seamlessly throughout the game, not just as a post-game DLC. For example, in Persona 4 Golden, the new dungeons happened at the middle of the year, not at the end of it. You could also go the new areas added in the re-release right from the middle of the game. So even if you could get it as DLC, yo would still need to start a new play-through. Same will be the case here. The new characters, their story, new supports, new dungeons etc. will be added seamlessly in the middle of the year, not after the year ends (Where the base game ends). Not to mention, the definitive edition is a PS4 only release, so chances are they improve assets or use new assets in the definitive version.
But the amount of content added always makes it worthwhile to purchase the new version. Going by their record, tons of content will be added.
The Western release is scheduled for 2020. It's coming out on 31 October, 2019 in Japan. So if I had to guess, it will approximately come on April-May, 2020 in the West (Generally 6 months to localize, translate and add English voices)

Yes, Understandable, i was not necessarily complaining ,just sharing its drawbacks which are there for sure irrespective of the reasons and make it less of an experience, the reasons are more clear now.
Still on chapter 10 btw.
Next year then would be Kiwami 2.
I would still suggest playing Kiwami 1 before 2 though. While the story of 1 is not legendary, it does introduce a ton of characters who are very important to the series as a whole, like Inspector Date and Haruka (Kiryu's daughter figure). It also concludes Nishikiyama's story (Tells why he isn't present in Yakuza 6 for example). And you will appreciate Kiwami 2 a lot more if you've played Kiwami 1. The game's main story is quite short, so you can rush through it before going to Kiwami 2 (which does have a legendary story). Plus, Kiwami 1 still uses Yakuza 0's engine and combat system, unlike Kiwami 2 which uses Yakuza 6's Dragon Engine and Combat system. Plus, Kiwami 1 is very cheap now and will be even cheaper by next year.

@GunnerY2J Yakuza 6 was designed from the ground up just to say goodbye to Kiryu. The fact that it did not have a heavy story was also a part of the process. The entire purpose of it was that Kiryu would pass on completely from the Yakuza World, leave his legacy behind and not come back. That's why they did not introduce many new "legendary" characters, like say Majima of Y0. They were restrained by the fact that they cannot make any new character more likeable than Kiryu in his final game. It's also why Kiryu is so well-respected and feared here. He's at the twilight of his career and the game and it's characters acknowledge all his efforts and achievements over the course of all the 5 previous games.
It's also why they brought back tons of fan-favourites from throughout the series, but gave them only cameo roles and did not let them do anything. For example, Majima was only seen at the end. Akiyama was a wild fan-favorite since Yakuza 4 (Would be the next Majima to me), but he came for only some 5 minutes and 1 battle etc. It's also why all the sub-stories are serious, instead of funny like other Yakuza games and filled with nostalgia. For example, the Pocket Race Fighter story -
SpoilerIn Y0, Pocket Circuit Fighter was very young and played with kids in Pocket Circuit Racing (Which was his passion). In Yakuza Kiwami, he started feeling the pressure from his family to quit, get into a stable business and get married. Yet with Kiryu's help, he resisted that and continued on. The in Y6, the Pocket Fighter is old. He's already married and has a kid. He's doing a new job (selling Ramen I think). His wife does not like Pocket Circuit Races at all. Ultimately, he (along with Kiryu) helps his son and teaches him all about Pocket Circuit Races. Then he and Kiryu talk about all the fun times they had in the past with the Pocket Circuit Races, when he was still an announcer and Kiryu a contestant
Almost all side quests are melancholy in this way, a throwback to old games and the adventures people had there. So yup, the team were functioning with a lot of restrictions.
Want a story as good as, or even better than Yakuza 0? Play Kiwami 2 and play Judgement. Kiwami 1 is a remake of their very first game, so while it had a good story, it was not legendary. But in both Kiwami 2 and Judgement, the team was completely unrestricted (Like in Yakuza 0), so they gave legendary stories.

Also the empty plot storyline and flashback after every chapter and emotions of yakuza 0 and multiple storylines coming together was next level.
6 not that worthy of a finale, missing the intensity, still very good but not on the level of 0.
Dude you've played 6 immediately after 0. Of course it will not feel like a worthy finale. The "finale" part is for Kiryu and those who have played plenty of games will find plenty of things to feel emotional over. I would have said you should play Kiwami after Y0, then Kiwami 2 (This game actually has the conclusion of Majima's story in Yakuza 0 with Makimura Makoto - the blind girl you help in Majima's Story in 0). Then play 6 (Don't play the PS3 games - 3,4 and 5 until their remaster comes West, the combat is borderline unplayable now). Even with that your "Finale" aspects would have increased by tons.
Though I agree with you on one thing - the combat is definitely a downgrade from Yakuza 0. Also I didn't like the whole "5 different types of exp" thing they had going on, most of which was based on what food you ate in the restaurants (Kiwami 2 also does this). The good news is they've scrapped that system in their latest game - Judgement and brought back the good old Style based combat and a single experience system called "SP" which you get from pretty much everything you do; combat - Get SP; side quest - Get SP; Eat a new dish - Get SP; Buy some items - get SP; play a mini game - get SP; Main Story progress - Get SP etc. So I get the feeling that the team has gotten used to the new engine and future games from now on will expand the style combat and one type of experience system to pretty much go back and even improve on Yakuza 0.
Do note though that Judgement has 2 styles (Crane for battling multiple mobs, based on the rush style and Tiger for battling single mobs based on the Brawler/Thug Style)

DQ11 or Persona 5? I mean Persona 5 is obviously amazing, but what about the game this thread is dedicated to? Worth the pick-up?
Sent from my Mi A2 using Tapatalk
Both are amazing games (Legendary for me personally). But I would suggest waiting on both. Persona 5 is getting a definitive edition in 2020 (Persona 5 R) with tons of new content. So wait for that. Dragon Quest is also getting a definitive edition (Dragon Quest S), again with tons of new content. Dragon Quest S is coming out this year. But it's Switch exclusive. So if you have a Switch wait for that. Otherwise, you can get DQXI now.
Do keep in mind that DQ XI is a traditional JRPG though. It will play like those JRPGs from 90s only with awesome graphics, and gameplay that you can speed up. It also has a taditional (Though Very Good) story. It's more of a comfortable game you play to relax (From what I've heard, in Japan it's literally a bed-time game that people play before sleeping peacefully).
Persona 5 is the modern revolutionary game.
Both are easily 90-100 hour games so you will definitely get your money's worth.
Hope it helped

Because like Sach4life mentioned not everyone is interested to play on PC. And its not about money, I just dnt feel like playing on it. Not sure what's changed as till about 2009 I was completely involved in PC MR c**tiyapa but now have completely lost interest in it.
PS: Personal preference, don't want to start console vs PC bullshit again.
No PCMR BS and I agree it's up to your preference. Just stating that all 3 will most probably run on any half-decent PC. These are not games that require "PCMR Specs", so no need to spend an extra 40k for a new console, just for these. And believe me, these games are not in the category of "So-good that you can't miss at any cost and need to buy a new machine for"

Most probably will do the same next gen. Will buy the least expensive next gen MS console to play SO, Ori and Cuphead.
Why not play all three of them on Steam? They go for very cheap (Rs 1500-1600 for all 3 games combined) and none of them have high system requirements, so any mid-range PC can easily max them out. Heck, I think all 3 of them are in Game Pass (Probably, not sure) so you can finish them off on PC for literally 50 Rs.

Should be renamed to IGC(Indian General Chatter).
+1. Only time I came close to buying a MS console was because I really wanted to play Alan Wake. Then thought of waiting for it to come to PC and the moment passed. Even now, PS5 purchase is confirmed as I can't miss next GoW and Horizon...Scarlett depending on how those new acquired studios perform.
Well, you can only discuss so much when there is absolutely no new announcements or trailers. Some materials needed to discuss man.
Also same opinion. X360 had some games that I seriously wanted to play, and made me jealous of the console (Had only PS3 and Wii last gen). This gen, I got the One X, and I'm useing it to play the 360 games I missed last gen + RDR2 (since it has stable frame-rate there), DMC 5 (Because why not) and Shenmue HD Collection and Shadow of Tomb Raider (First games I got with console). Absolutely no exclusives and no hype. Meanwhile I would definitely like to buy PS5 blindly without even waiting for new exclusives because I know Sony will deliver.

I dunno man, I'm using a 1050ti 4gb laptop and in theory the settings are automatically set but the performance isn't satisfactory. i have to tinker around/lower the settings to get acceptable performance.
In theory 1050ti 4gb laptop should give ne better performance than a ps4 but its a pain in the a*s to select the right option.
For example, I tried hellblade and no amount of tinkering is giving me a smooth framerate. Gears 4 also fps drops at medium settings( some options are high by default).
Rime played fine but only on medium while the automatic selection was High.
As such the only pro of owning a PC seems to be no generational limitations. I can even pickup the 1990s Aladdin game on steam if I wanted to. So that is definitely a plus.
As far as possible, don't use a laptop for gaming. Laptop is generally for travelling/gaming while travelling. You can generally build a desktop that's almost twice as powerful for the price of a laptop, just because corporations overcharge on all parts, in the name of "portability" in laptops. Also your card is pretty decent. But 1050 ti (Or any xx50 card from Nvidia) is a solid mid-range card. So you will have to settle for "Medium" graphics options, especially in games like Hellblade or Gears 4, which will consume a lot of system resources. In Nvidia's case, the main gaming cards (That will allow you to play on high) starts from xx60 (1060, 2060 etc.) and the next gen is equal to the higher end of the previous gen (For ex. a 2060 is equal to a 1070; while your 1050 ti would be slightly more powerful than a 960)

Frankly, not that impressed with Kohli as a captain. Has not won a single ICC trophy or even a single IPL. In fact his IPL record is a disaster. Plus too much drama from his side. Maybe captaincy should be given to Rohit Sharma. His record is far better. And from future, BCCI should institute a rule that only those who have proven leadership skills (able to give advise to other team members and the person who commands respect or at least the person who has led in domestic teams/IPL with very good record) should be given captaincy, with the provision to remove the person from captaincy should a single win not come in a major tournament after a reasonable period of time.

@WhiteWolf How do you use GP after the first month? Do you sub for 700 Rs/month or keep creating alternate accounts?

Including below the character trailers for Persona 5 R. Tons of new battle info revealed. Including the fact fact they are now including combination attacks. This is different from "All-Out Attacks" and is made as a combination between two party members. These attacks also have awesome new cinematics to them. For example, in Ryuji's and Yusuke's (Skull's and Fox's) xombination attack, the cinematic is Ryuji goes to a Ramen bar where Yusuke is the Chef/Master, and orders food. Meanwhile the shadow comes in and causes a ruckus. Fox throws a Grenade and Ryuji shoots it (Or was it the other way around, benn some time since I saw the trailer). The scene though feels taken straight out of The Godfather. Other combinations also have other cinematics.
Also revealed are 3rd tier Personas for each character (The base game only had 2 tiers). Overall, the battle system seems to have been expanded upon a lot. Trailers are in Japanese, but it's well worth it to watch. I'm using the unofficial subbed version where possible.

@STICK3Rboy And this is the problem with the Game Pass/Netflix/Subscription model. Soon enough, every publisher is going to have their own service and people are going to be stuck paying for each and every one. Heck, the actual Netflix has the problem. Who the heck is going to pay 10$/month (600 Rs) for game pass + 15$/month (Uplay+) + Origin Access fees + Deep Silver sub fees + square enix sub fees + Bethesda sub fees and all the other nonsense. After all every single publisher is goingto want that sub monies eventually.

Whoa @kmkaks congratz on finding all the boring trailers this conference and bringing it together. I agree, this was a boring E3. But Nintendo conference was pretty good. And Ghostwire Tokyo was quite interesting. As was Cyberpunk. Aside from these, completely boring E3.
@hope Why delete? Let it be there. Will be forgotten later anyway. But at least the thread will maintain a record of what was announced at which E3.

Nah I feel it was more of a collaboration. The actual maps, gameplay, character progression, support systems etc. is definitely IS's work. Meanwhile KT seems to have worked on the graphics and character models. So I would say it was an equal collaboration between both. The actual strategic part is far too good to be from a developer who has never made a strategic game before (Not to mention, it has IS's touch in it). In fact, over here, it's far better than almost any Fire Emblem game before (Awakening, Fates, Sacred Stones, Ike's set of games - you name it). Also IS's last graphically intensive game (if you can call it that) on home consoles was a SD game - Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn on the Wii, so there KT's contribution comes in.
The above is only the feeling I get when playing the game. If you have any source that IS was only a minor partner, and KT developed the game fully, then you might be right. Please do share, it might be an interesting read since I don't have much of a high opinion of KT as I feel they just keep on re-skinning and giving out the same "Warriors/Musou" game again and again, without developing much else.
