  1. My takeaways:

    - Overall looks amazing (hehe)... love the detail in the environments and how snappy everything looks.

    - Webslinging and movement seems very fluid and simple. This is what Insomniac does best.

    - Combat looks like an upgraded Web of Shadows, which is probably my favorite Spider-Man combat system till date.

    - Stealth is fine. Glad it's a thing, I liked the stealthy Spider-Man Noir missions in Shattered Dimensions. This looks like an upgrade to it. The Batman influence is still there.

    - QTEs are ok. I'm usually not bothered by them in most games, here they simply exist as a way to make big cinematic moments feel interactive.

    - Speaking of cinematic, damn the whole thing looked like a proper movie set-piece. Some may think it was a bit too "auto pilot" with all the QTEs and stuff but I'm sure this was supposed to be a centerpiece mission. I highly doubt the whole game will play like that.

    - Miles Morales cameo was epic!

  2. Man the combat looks fantastic! Hit reactions look really nice. If it actually feels as weighty as it looks I'll be very happy.

First God Of War game that I'm legitimately excited for!

Story will not be the focus ,ubiosft has already said they want emergent gameplay so story you make your own.

Knowing Ubi, I find that very hard to believe. They might have some emergent moments but it's hard to imagine an AC without a main plot. It's called Origins, so I'm guessing it will cover the origin of the templars and assassins and the whole eagle thing will tie into how the assassins have the eagle vision ability /pure speculation.

  4. Might be the first AC game in a long time that actually looks appealing to me. I'm sure the structure will be the same old Ubi-open world stuff but the setting, tiered loot and changes to the combat look nice. Liking the protagonist's design and voice work as well. Also I hope the story is full-on conspiracy shlock. I really want this series to embrace it's cheesy story completely, it kind of fizzled out after AC3.

  5. Destiny is the kind of game that looks very mediocre if you aren't already hooked. However Bungie has absolutely nailed the moment-to-moment action. It's a blast to play especially once everything comes together (a good team, effective gear etc.). It is very much a loot driven game where the objective is mainly to get stuff so you can do harder content which in turn gives you more stuff. Some may call the loop "repetitive" and indeed it is but so is any loot based game. There is a sufficiently long campaign with a bunch of story missions but it exists mainly as a tutorial for things and to level you up so you can get into the endgame stuff. The lore is also pretty cool if you go looking for it.

I personally find it more fun than Borderlands (the combat itself is miles beyond) and easier to get into compared to say, The Division or Warframe (and I like those two as well).

Damn good gameplay trailer.I liked Last Light and this has potential to be even better.

Also the music similarity to 28 weeks later, the theme is so similar couldn't they sue metro exodus makers? i don't know how music copyright works so..

It IS the 28 Days/Weeks Later theme and is officially used. I've seen it been used elsewhere as well including the movie Kick-a*s.

  7. I watched The Butterfly Effect last night (that's one movie I never actually got around to watching when it first came out) and I was quite surprised at how similar the movie is to this game. There's stuff in here that's lifted wholesale from the movie.

    - The entire concept of going back in time to key moments via some form of recordings (writing, pictures, video) is taken from the movie.
    -  The whole thing about no matter what you do to fix things the one person who you truly care for ends up being hurt or dead. Or if they don't then there's something else that goes horribly wrong.
    - Even the movie doesn't explain the reason why the protagonist can travel back in time.

Of course the movie's plot is different and LIS has the whole murder mystery angle but there's no doubt the writers were inspired by the movie.

  8. Some are speculating it's a marketing ploy because you know the game is about hacking and stealing data. I don't think that's the case though. CDPR did the right thing here.

  9. Did you peeps get into settlement building? If yes, what's the biggest advantage?

I think the biggest draw there is the building aspect itself. If you enjoy building elaborate bases in survival games (that's where this feature comes from), you'll get a kick out of it as there's a lot of cool stuff you can build and it comes together really well.

Apart from that, as Zodak mentioned you get some resources and have a safe place where everything can be easily done (crafting, cooking, farming, repairs etc.).
