  1. done with the Lost Sinner.

got a fragrant branch of yore. should i use it on that boss soul merchant or the lady blocking some way near to majula.

Yeah use it on the lady for now. The merchant is important too but he can wait. You'll get a couple more branches in Harvest Valley.

  2. What area should I go to after No Mans Wharf?

Lost Bastille. If you've already done that (and I think you have) then Huntsman Copse > Harvest Valley > Earthen Peak.

Is Playing demon souls necessary for hopping on to dark soul series?

    Nope.

Anyway, started NG+ after Ancient Dragon roasted me too many times. I'm pretty sure I could have beaten him with enough patience (my spells were doing massive damage to him) but the damn run to the boss is very frustrating. No bonfire close to him and there are like 12 super tough enemies in a way, and you can't really run past them. So screw it.

So NG+ has been pretty easy to far and like DaS1/DeS you can progress much faster once you've beaten the game. Two-shot The Pursuer with Soul Geyser lol. There are a few phantoms who spawn once in some areas. Still, I'm not looking forward to the Lost Sinner fight and I heard she gets two pyromancer minions on NG+.

  3. There are a LOT of bosses in the game. So many that by the end you tend to forget many of them. That said, there are a good number of memorable fights - The Pursuer, The Lost Sinner, The Executioner's Chariot, Duke's Dear Freja, The Rotten, Smelter Demon, Royal Rat Authority, Looking Glass Knight and a few others. As for being challenging, I'd really say it depends on what build you're using. Many of the fights would have been hard with a completely melee build or vice versa could have been easier if I could use better shields and really powerful melee weapons. There are actually different ways you can fight bosses, the Chariot for example can be fought differently than the 'intended' way. A few bosses need you to do something specific to make them slightly easier but can be fought straight up as well. And as far as I know there are at least 3 bosses I haven't fought because they're completely optional. They're some of the hardest fights in the game.

Overall the game gets better and more challenging as it goes on. This doesn't necessarily apply to bosses. Some of the later areas are quite tough to get through, more than actually defeating the boss. The difficulty and challenge cannot be measured by the bosses alone.

If I had to pick one boss which gave me a lot of trouble, it would be (believe it or not for those who have played the game) The Rotten. This was mainly because I fought him a lot earlier than I was supposed to and being a mainly ranged build it was really hard to get good distance from him. In the end I just ended up dodging/rolling and two handing my sword - which worked wonderfully. Also I don't think my mage would have been able to solo The Lost Sinner. That was one fight where I absolutely had to use a summon.

  4. Yup, my most anticipated feature of the game. Thank god they are implementing Bees properly

Still no info on whether we can change armor/weapons of party members :furious:

That Dwarf Varric needs an Axe

    and a shield

    and a beard

    And heavy armor

... And cut from the game.

  5. Haven't played AO yet..but i guess making a full scale Gotham could be pretty engaging contentwise..

I guess the biggest challenge in making a full scale populated Gotham is probably stopping players from going all GTA on random people. So they have to go with a controlled approach like the Arkham games. They'll have to put so many systems / failstates in place and that will probably end up making the game less fun.

  6. ^^ Me neither, can't wait for better visuals (hopefully) and dat 60 fps!

Also I'm thinking of putting together a short guide for an INT/Magic build. It really made some of the fights trivial towards the end. The last few bosses went down faster than regular enemies.

  7. ^^ Whoa

Okay finished NG... what a ride! The game felt like a long journey, I felt like I've been to so many places, conquered so many challenges and became really powerful. I'd put it on par with Demon's and Dark Souls. I still have a soft spot for DaS1 so that remains my favorite but this is pretty much what I wanted from a sequel.

    Onward to NG+!

PS: I didn't attempt the super-hard optional bosses, though I did collect 4 of the Giant Souls. Maybe I'll give them a shot before NG+.

  8. Have you guys seen Sinister? It was equally awesome as The Conjuring if not better. Loved the movie but it didn't get much attention apparently.

Yeah sinister had a great story.. But it was not as scary/fun as conjuring

I thought Sinister was scarier than Conjuring which was just about okay in terms of scares - got really predictable at one point.

Sinister had those absolutely f**ked up super-8 films. Coupled with the super-creepy OST the effect was really disturbing.

  9. Finishing a Souls game for the first time is only the beginning.

I'm already looking forward to multiple builds, NG+ and beyond, SL1 run, self imposed challenges etc etc etc.

  10. Yes I fought Pursuer V2.

As for Shrine of Amana, my R2 for the MLGS helped a ton to figure out where the drops in the water were. I got killed mostly by the damn mages until I figured out the best places to snipe them from. That NPC summon in one of the huts also helps a lot.

  11. Batman Series Sales going on steam..the Arkham Origing is costing me USD 19.44 with all the dlcs/season pass/skin pack. Is it worth and what will be download size?

Can I buy the retail disc and use the steam skin pack and season pass ?

Will I the Deathstroke DLC in the current steam version or retail disc?

It's a Steamworks game so no reason why you shouldn't be able to use the DLC/Season Pass with the retail version.

The game takes up about 18.5GB on my drive. The actual download will probably be a little less (around15GB I think).

  12. yeah, she is getting hotter

    And makeup/lighting is getting better...

Just watched Insidious. Damn!! It is from the director of The Conjuring and have to say, the guy knows how to scare people. Provides the chills at the right time and is a must watch for those who liked The Conjuring or are horror movies fans. But do watch it at night when you are alone and the light is off :P

Insidious is one of my favorite recent horror movies. Watch Chapter 2 as well. It's not as good as the first and becomes unnecessarily complicated but still a good follow up.

You may also want to check out James Wan's other horror movie - Dead Silence and I'm guessing you must have already seen the first Saw movie (also directed by him).

  13. The ship is a straight path downwards from the bell. You'll have to cross the docks - be wary of ambush. This got me really bad a few times under I figured out where the hollows come out from. On the plus side, the boss of this area is super easy.

The first Sorcery vendor is also in this area.

BTW Heide's Tower of Flame is meant to be done as the second area after Forest of the Fallen Giants. Considering you've already beaten the Lost Sinner you'll pretty much stomp over these areas. Also, mild spoiler.. .No Man's Wharf circles back to The Lost Bastille from another side.
