Yeah Wolverine is definitely more popular, not arguing with that at all. But he's also a solo character who has been a part of various teams. Same can be said about Spider-Man, Hulk and more recently Iron Man. Now Cyclops on the other hand is the founder of the original X-Men and has led the group for the longest time. He's one of the most important characters in the X-Men comics. The movies unfortunately reduced him to a secondary character.
@dylan, I'm talking about the actual characters and I'm assuming that's what dante77 was talking about too. Also I thought people liked Anna Paquinn as Rogue. I personally thought she was too whiny for Rogue and definitely not nearly as badass as the actual character.

sorry, X-men is Wolverine, yes and now shut up.
Only someone unfamiliar with X-Men comics will say that.
-
Yeah that makes sense.
Also Gavlan is awesome... "Gavlan wheel, Gavlan deal".
-
That's a bummer, Rogue and kitty may not be people's favorite but they sure are good characters and I really like both.
Ummm... Rogue and Kitty are fan favorites.
@silentassassin, X-men 3 was all kinds of f**ked up but it seemed from the very last scene with Magneto (with the chess pieces) that he was slowly getting his powers back so the "cure" was probably temporary.

Yeah now that I have enough STR/DEX for the MLGS I will be pumping up VGR. I have been putting points mainly into INT/ATT/END so far and a bit of FTH.

Yes but almost all bosses (and most regular enemies) can one shot me from full health.

Not sure about the poison infusion on bows, never tried that. Sounds like something worth trying though. There are a LOT of places in the game where having ranged options really helps.
That section in Iron Keep was hard yes but I didn't have a lot of trouble there. Mainly because my GH Soul Arrows coupled with binoculars destroyed everything in two hits.

In other news I finally got the Moonlight Greatsword yesterday!
Also the Looking Glass Knight boss fight was pretty sweet. In fact the entire Drangleic Castle was nice and creepy as hell. One place in particular had a very strong Silent Hill vibe.

After Sinner? There are several places you can try but you should go to Huntsman Copse. Talk to the Miracle vendor lady you meet after the Dragonrider at Heide's Tower of Flame and get her to move to Majula if you haven't done that already. She will open the path to Huntsman Copse.
As for Belfry Luna, it's pretty much optional. If you don't wanna join the Bellkeepers and have already beaten Lost Sinner there's no real incentive in going there now.

Maybe a cameo from kid Cyclops in the 60s timeline. I don't see how they can do anything more.
There was a Cyclops and Storm cameo in First Class. Y'know the scene where Xavier uses Cerebro for the first time.
-
I think you're fine, probably at the right level. Gargoyles can be a bitch for melee builds though. Also no real point in beating them now since you're already past Sinner.

Started playing last night. I've jumped into Act V with my Monk. So far pretty decent and I'm liking the atmosphere. Diablo should be dark and creepy and I was never a fan of Act II and the desert in D2 either. So far it seems to be hitting the right notes.
As for length I've heard it's about 5 to 6 hours which seems pretty decent since this is just one extra act. It seems on par (or longer) than the original acts. There's also the new class, adventure mode and jewel crafting, none of which I've experienced yet. There's a good amount of new stuff.

You actually don't need unlimited lockstones unless you're a ratbro and really want the traps. You'll get enough of them as normal loot. I've never run out of them actually and I never joined the rat covenant.

DOFP is gonna be even better. I just love watching new mutants and their powers. Fassbender is still looking like the guy to look for though. He just seems perfect for young magneto. Also, the trailer showed kitty! I just love her from animated series. I hope she gets some important role in this. I know she isn't important for many people but I have a soft corner for her. Also, Rogue! can't see her anywhere. I hope she is there. I hope Scott was there but he is dead. This is gonna be EPIC!
@Ty - Hi Five for 'The Avengers' brother.

About DOFP, I think I read that Rogue's character was cut or something... or probably reduced to a cameo. As for Kitty yeah she's in it but her role (compared to the actual DOFP storyline) is reduced as well. Guess who is probably getting the most screentime?
With all the time travel stuff, can't they bring back Cyclops? X-Men NEEDS Cyclops, there are no excuses. This is not G.I. Joe where you can just kill off Duke and bring The Rock in his place (I wasn't cool with that either).

Man Belfry tower covenant is just like non stop invasions. I put the ring on and I am invading someone in under 20 seconds flat.
I kinda feel bad about invading people in general unless its in a PvP area. And double so for the Belfry tower cause the boss fight is one of the VERY few ones thats actually difficult solo. But I figure since its an option boss those guys I am invading will be alright. Plus you get a chunk for every invasion. And daddy needs the chunks.
Man Bellbros make it really hard to even reach the boss. Anyway you can get one of the vendors to sell unlimited titanite chunks later in the game. I haven't really run out of chunks even after maxing out my primary weapons. You get more slabs per playthrough as well... unlike DaS1.
@aj21, nope, AFAIK no merchant has unlimited lockstones. You can however farm them by joining the Ratbros and trolling players.
Made a fair bit of progress. All primal bonfires lit. But still can't beat the NG+ Duke's Dear Freja. I really want that MLG

Mild area spoilers...
I reached Drangleic Castle. Damn the moment when you see the castle for the first time. The huge imposing building, the moonlight, the foreboding atmosphere... such an epic moment. "Gorgeous view ahead" indeed!

The incest stuff was Ultimate Universe bullshit. Classic Wanda & Pietro FTW! I hope her Marvel NOW! costume makes an appearance though. It's much more screen friendly.
Dethroning the present best superhero movie, xmen first class. PSYCHED !!

Won't call it *the* best (that would be The Avengers for me) but definitely Top 5.

The Pharros door for Belfry Luna is near the bonfire right after the Ruin Sentinels boss room. Go down the ladder next to the bonfire.
Btw, having multiple Rings of Life Protection really breaks the game. I haven't gone hollow at all in the last 6 hours of play.
-
I don't use hexes much but Resonant Soul (costs souls to cast) and Dark Fog (poisons enemies) are great. I'm gonna create a dark magic build sometime in the future.
I think poison is very effective in this game. Can't wait to infuse an uchi with poison.
-
STR weapons are always better two handed. And honestly for me two handing in this game is ridiculously tough because of the nerf to dodging.
Hmmm for those bosses where I had to resort to melee I ended up two handing and dodging anyway. Shields only make it harder, unless you have very high END.
-
Ok, the bastard sword it is. Where is it found?
Forest of Fallen Giants. Forgot exactly where though. IIRC it's in the area opened by the soldier key to the left of the ladder from the second bonfire. The area with the turtle warriors.
-
I don't think the BSS is in the game, or at least I haven't come across one yet.
I lack the strength for the Bastard Sword (though it's not a very high req. I can probably grind out those points), but it will definitely be the starter weapon for my melee build.
-
Those two-handed sword knights in Lost Bastille sometimes drop their swords. Also I think a Greatsword is found in No Man's Wharf. There's also the Bastard Sword in Forest of Fallen Giants.

Mytha with Jester. ROFL. He pretty much solo'd the boss. I had summoned him for shits and giggles and then just watched awestruck as he completely wrecked her sh*t.
Edit @ Ty Yeah guess spellcasting is out then. Might dabble with Pyro since I have stopped leveling up now (at around SL 60).
Pyro is just as strong as it was in DaS, but now even that scales with the magic stats. But I believe you should be able to get some mileage out of it by just upgrading the gloves.
And yeah Jester is probably the Iron Tarkus of DaS2.
In general the NPC summons are a lot better this time around. People like to give Lucatiel a lot of sh*t for her uselessness but she tanked Smelter Demon long enough for me to blast him to bits. Probably wouldn't have been able to beat him without her.

Yeah I remember reading about that. Even there he had his wife getting attracted to another guy :|
