  1. Nah.... Fake ones always weigh less. Accounting for the accuracy of the machine used I'm very confident it's original at 248 grams. They will open just fine but you need to use the perfect size screwdriver and apply pressure as you turn. Using a screwdriver with even a little bit of play will cause the screws to strip. You'll need to weigh it. Simplest method to determine authenticity. It should be at least 245 grams.
  2. Wow over 24 hours with no comments Perhaps the regulars are actually busy *gasp* playing their games!
  3. Wow.... No wonder this thread keeps getting locked all the time. You always read between the lines and make unfounded assumptions to fuel arguments. Where the hell did I say those games have lesser entertainment value? I'm sure they're amazing in their own right. I've heard a lot about them. I merely said Nintendo has the biggest entertainment value in terms of broader appeal. PS and Xbox have excellent games but probably geared more towards the hardcore. Most people on forums are gamers and fall more towards the hardcore category. But the layman more often than not knows Mario rather than Kratos. The layman more often than not refers to any video game as a "Nintendo". By the way, I don't care if Nintendo is the biggest or not (but you certainly do). My only point is Nintendo games are for adults as much as PS and Xbox.
  4. All good man! I just got slightly confused by the emoji earlier but no worries. I do agree sometimes their pricing is definitely.... "ambitious" haha. When most people talk about games the default context is entertainment value. I noticed you're mostly concerned with sales numbers and revenue like you're the CFO of all 3 companies. Oh... If this thread is about pulling each other's legs that's fine. But people seem to take it very seriously
  5. What did I say? I just asked a question. But by that logic animated movies, cartoons and comics are also only for kids. I understand you are interpreting the other guy's comment though. What's your take on Nintendo?
  6. That's too bad I guess. Nintendo is the number 1 video game company in most parts of the world. Especially in their biggest markets North America and Europe. And adults are their biggest consumers more than kids. So Nintendo definitely knows a thing or two on what makes a good game. Anyone who thinks Nintendo is for kids are missing out on some of the best gaming experiences available.
  7. What's the rationale behind referring to Nintendo gamers as kids?
  8. Why does this thread keep getting locked and unlocked so much? It's pointless since it's pretty obvious people are going to fight.
  9. Yep, ninty4eva lol! The projector has a rated lag of 50ms. More than enough for my gaming needs. I'm not into crazy fast moving FPS so it's good enough for me. House has a central ventilation system (I'm in the US now, moved here along with my collection a few years ago). This is Samsung's flagship projector specially designed for movies. And it's 4K. It's not one of the cheap office projectors most people are used to It's an RGB triple laser 4K projector and color gamut is equal to OLED. Only thing it can't achieve is the OLED black levels. I also got a special 120" screen for it to enhance the black levels. Overall it's extremely close to a 120" 4K OLED TV so there's no way I'm going to downgrade to 70" To get a better idea you can search for reviews on Samsung LSP9T ultra short throw projector. Also, all the seats in the sofas are actually powered recliners so no need for extra footrests. And the middle seat in the 3-seater folds out into a table with cupholders so it's all taken care of already
  10. I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii U. About 130 hours in and close to completing the main story. This game is super polished and extremely impressive. Absolutely HUGE open world and no loading screens unless you fast travel. You can get to any point on the map. It's exactly like Zelda BotW and no surprises there because Monolith Soft used their experience to help Nintendo craft BotW.
  11. I moved to a new house and completely revamped the game room compared to the previous one I posted last year! I've come a long way since I started this thread 5 years ago. It's been a fun journey. Met lots of people along the way. I think this is my final setup. No energy to go beyond this. Gaming on a 120" screen with 5.1 speakers is really something else. The room is closed with no windows. Proper man cave More close up pics of everything in the following link (contains some old pics from before the projector was setup): https://imgur.com/a/UBZWZsu
  12. Hey sorry for the late reply. I have all 3 sizes and it's certainly not Y000. That is for the microscopic screws used inside iPhones and such. Y0 is too big and won't even fit the screw head whereas Y000 is too small and there's a high chance of stripping the screw and locking yourself out of the joycon. The correct size is Y00. And feel free to ping me any time on Whatsapp directly
  13. Whoa we can see undead posts now after the forum upgrade? That's totally rad!
  14. Nice look! Now let's see if this post fixes my rank Edit: Guess not I joined over 4 years ago, have 300+ posts, won 6 days and 220+ rep but the forum says I'm still a newbie
  15. To be honest I haven't played any of those yet. I like to play only one game at a time from start to finish and right now I'm stuck with Xenoblade Chronicles 2. But I've heard a lot about the GBA Final Fantasy games and I'm itching to start one of those next.
  16. Can you guys please edit your posts to remove all the quoted pics? It introduced a lot of scrolling on the page. Thanks in advance!
  17. I actually found both of those in India The Neo Geo was not working when I got it. It was also missing the AV and power cables. I managed to source the cables (jugaad, not original lol) and when I finally hooked it up it wasn't working. I'm good with repairs so I opened it up and traced it down to a faulty capacitor. Replaced that and it started working. I got it with an excellent game called Viewpoint.
  18. Thanks! I've been actively collecting since 2016 I guess. After collecting some stuff I started this thread. You can see the difference since then from the very first post in this thread Yes I'm in the US now and I sourced most of the limited edition stuff here. But a huge chunk of these games were found in India when I was living there. I got it all shipped here last year when I moved.
  19. I shipped most of my games to the US and setup my game room again View from the door: Slot car racing set: GameCube kiosk: The Wall: I hand-made these wooden custom stands myself for displaying Gameboy games: Closer views of the right half of the wall: All these are hooked up and ready to go at any moment: Placement of the CRT is awkward but I didn't have any other choice with the limited space.
  20. I live in the US and I see tons of these fake controllers everywhere. US market is flooded with them and they're all in Japanese packaging. Over here only the ones in English packaging are legit and everything else is fake. I myself bought a Xenoblade edition in Jap packaging and returned it because it was fake.
  21. Hey thanks for tagging me I'm sorry to say but your controller is definitely fake. It's as @Bird Bird Bird said, there are no more brand new original special edition controllers available in the market. They were discontinued long back. Any "new" ones you find are definitely fake. Even on Amazon. There are some issues with the paint job on your controller that tells me it is fake. Here is a screenshot of an original controller taken directly from Nintendo's YouTube channel from the Smash Bros controller announcement. First take a look at the parts circled in red. In the original one, there is a clear boundary for the white paint around the plus and minus buttons. There is a small recess around the button and the paint does not extend into that. However, on yours part of the recess is also painted. You cannot put this down to manufacturing error. These things are made on an assembly line and they are all exactly the same with zero differences. Next, look at the parts circled in green. On the original the paint job is razor sharp at the corners. But yours is not as sharp. Especially the corner next to the d-pad is clearly round and not sharp. How much did you pay for this and from where did you get it? You should return it and get your money back ASAP. These fake pro controllers are getting better and better every day and it's a becoming a big nuisance. It's becoming very difficult to spot a fake just by visual inspection. All the functionalities like NFC, wake up button, even HD rumble are getting copied. I think the Chinese are browsing forums like this and using this feedback to improve the knockoffs lol. Can you share a clear pic of the Nintendo logo on the USB-C charging cable that came with this controller? Link to video:
  22. Hi everyone! I searched around but couldn't find a thread on here dedicated to posting pics of your gaming collection. So I decided to start one Before we begin, I want to set some expectations for the content of this thread: 1) This thread is CERTAINLY NOT about trying to prove whose collection is better or whose collection is bigger. Please don't make comments that will lead to such types of discussion. I have seen another thread get locked because people started fighting. 2) This thread IS NOT about leaving negative comments for others' collections. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything! 3) This thread IS NOT a selling thread. 4) This thread IS about sharing your collection and appreciating fellow IVG members' passion for games. Don't be afraid to post your collection no matter its size! 5) This thread IS about showing your physical games only, not digital. Please understand that I am not discriminating. The point is to show something tangible, that is, something that you can hold and share. I too have a bunch of games in my Steam library but I will not be showing those here. 6) This thread IS about original games only. No pics of pirated CDs and cartridges please! Now with that out of the way, let us begin! I will start by posting pics of all my Nintendo games. I have only played Nintendo since childhood. Partly because I found their games very appealing and partly because all my friends had only Nintendo consoles. I think one guy had a Sega Saturn and Sega Genesis but I never found those interesting. Before I had any game console, I remember playing on my friend's Super Nintendo (SNES) and being wowed by the graphics at the time. I looked forward to going to their house to play some games When the Nintendo 64 came out, two of my friends got it and it was the most amazing game console I had ever seen. The shape was futuristic and the controller had so many buttons! Mario had transitioned to 3D. Everyone was losing their minds over Zelda Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64. I just had to have it. My parents got me my own Nintendo 64 as a surprise gift for my 11th birthday and it was the best day of my life! I still have it to this day, box and all. Now when I think back, that day must have been the day that I was bitten by the "Collector Bug". Any normal kid would have torn open the box and thrown it in the trash after taking out the console. But not me. I remember carefully opening it and then storing the box in my closet. Even when we moved back to India 2 years later I made sure my mom packed it securely so it wouldn't get damaged in transit. I picked up a Game Boy Color in 2001 just after the Game Boy Advance came out. Then there was a long gap till 2008 before I got another console, the Nintendo Wii. I got it 2 days before starting my first job and it was the last console sponsored by my parents Once I started getting my salary I was free to buy whatever I wanted and decided to buy all the Nintendo consoles ever made! Since then I've been slowly building my collection over the years and now it is at a point where I've run out of space for storing everything. I'm very thankful that my wife is cooperating with me and hasn't just thrown everything in the trash Now let's move on to the pics!! This is the first time I am publicly posting my collection and I am very proud to do so on our very own IVg! Nintendo Entertainment System (NES): This thing single-handedly saved the video game industry after the crash in 1983. We owe all the games that we love today to this humble console. It popularised games again and put them in every family's living room. More pics: Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES): The follow up console to the wildly popular NES. This is a loose console but I'm actively looking for a boxed one in good condition. The Super Game Boy allows us to play Game Boy games on the SNES. Nintendo 64: My favorite console of all time! Though that is being seriously challenged by the Wii U. This console is a sizeable chunk of my collection. More pics: Virtual Boy: Nintendo's first failed console. Headache-inducingly cool. Nintendo GameCube: I actually never found this console very interesting. I got it recently to complete the collection. It has a Game Boy Player attached that allows one to play Game Boy games on the TV. More pics: Wii: Nintendo's massively successful foray into the casual gaming market through the innovative use of motion controls. More pics: Wii U: Bad marketing and bad naming led to people calling it the "Pee yew". But I still love it. More pics: I'm not planning on buying a Nintendo Switch just yet. Maybe I'll pick it up towards the end of the year. Now moving on to the handhelds! Nintendo Game Boy line: I have the original Game Boy with the green screen and the Game Boy Pocket but those are in need of a bit of repair. I will post those pics later in the future. Game Boy Color Assorted colors Game Boy games Game Boy Advance Game Boy Advance SP Game Boy Micro Nintendo DS line: More pics: Nintendo 3DS line: The limited edition Zelda Majora's Mask 3DS XL is very rare. More pics: My collection of various Nintendo gold consoles. I still need to find a few more like gold GameCube that was available only in Japan. And finally some cool stuff that I got from Club Nintendo before it shut down: Some of these consoles have started to give minor issues recently because of their age. But a quick service restored them back to new working condition. I posted my experience repairing them here: http://www.indianvideogamer.com/forums/index.php?/topic/52696-nintendo-games-and-consoles-repair/ Looking forward to seeing other peoples' gaming collections be it Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony, or any other!
