    er.. u missed a zero there.. its 100000. and burn ins are a thing of the past. believe.

    oled is the future.. but still way off. and plasma tech aint going nowhere. :D

    there is. the panel tech remains lcd. so the basic principle is block rather than shut-off. a tru led wud certainly have better blacks.

    plus the response time.. atleast a 1000 times faster than the best lcd.

    nO not the case with the new LEDLCDs........yes the basic principle is the same ....block ....but if there a a large enough black( around a square inch or so...idont know how much)the LED behind that part shuts down......!!! this is what the new LEDLCDs are doing ....so great blacks ....cause nothing to block

    OLEDs are organic. Not the same technique. Different way they produce light. No these are nowhere near OLEDs. You're still only getting an LCD screen backlit with LEDs instead of CCFLs. Unless you're that astute an observer there's no big difference. Especially for the huge price difference.

     

    Yes the sets are thinner than normal LCDs though.

    The type of backlighting has NO BEARING on the LCD's response time. They're still around 4ms - 5ms

    the response time of LED ....the time required to switch on and off....total different thing!!...i was not talking about the LCDs reponce time was just saying that LEDs are used because of their fast response time and less energy consumption

     

    there is no difference in colour andimage quality( if both use the same panel) ...but if you are loooking at black level there a whole lot of difference.....complete new level.....never seen before!!

     

    Every time i see them sideby side with a normal LCD the black reproduction is superb......... absolutely no bleeding on the LEDLCDs

    so for the backlight LED, the charge is so high ? What do the normal LCD TVs have ?

     

    light source is at the border..........but thats not the point here.....every thing comes to backlight bleeding

    .....so these LEDLCD TVs have region centric LEDs .....i.e. if there is a deep black at any region on the screen the corresponding LED behind the Pixel group shuts down ....SO there is no chance for bleeding ( cause there is no light coming frm behind)....

    .....this is possible with the LEDs because of there fast responce time(on off time) and Low energy requirement

    Happened to me a few times ...one of the following worked....

    1) Just leave it for a while ....PC might finally detect it...keep opening "My Computer" and refreshing every now and then.

    2) Connect the drive to another laptop or PC or PS3 to see if it works ...sometimes you might get an error message from the other computer and it might ask if you would like to fix it...go ahead and say fix

    3) Try connecting it to another USB drive on your laptop which is unused

    4) Have you gone into Disk management via Control panel (Admin. tools>comp. management>Storage>Disk managemnt )and seen if the drive is visible there ? Try assigning another drive letter to it...

    5)I presume it is enabled...go to device manager and check that theres no red mark against the USB storage device... if there is ..try enabling it

    6)A last thing ..disable and enable all your USB ports from device manager..or even uninstall and reinstall them

     

    I hope one of these works for you..I know it's bloody frustrating...but all the best :-)

    3.......Done....tried with every available USB slot in my HOUSE.

    4.......Done.....when i said Comp mgmt. i was talking about this only.....the drive does not show up

    5.......Done .....its enabled there

    6.......Done...... nothing helps

    my external WD 250 GB drive was connected to my laptop( via USB) .....the drive was disconnected without removing it safly(unintentionally....but still that has happened bfore)....now i cant see it it my computer neither in the disc management window ....but it shows us as USB mass storage device in the Device manager i have tried reinstalling the drivers it does not help........HELP!!

    My data on the windows partition is not important ........

    the laptop is 3 years old.....first 2 years i had to restore it only once ....and it was fine after that ....

    but now whenever i restore its slow from the start......i asked the dealer at nehru place ....he said it may be cause of the HDD ( he said reformatting HDD many times can mke it slow!!)

    I have a quary....

    My laptop( Ferrari 4002 WLMi) came with 80 GB 5.4K rpm HDD ( IDE) ...Now i dont need much HDD space cause i dont game on it ....but the HDD is now giving me problems..... the startup is slow .....explorer is slow.....File transfer is slow.

    I have 1 GB Ram On XP so i guess HDD is they only cause.

    Now i want to change my HDD ...the max i can get is 160 GB ( and that too 5.4K rpm......can some one get me 7.2k ONE pm ME!!) .

     

    BUT the problem is i dont want to loose the recovery partition that the current HDD has ......

    My HDD came with the following Partitions:

    .......35.5GB

    ........35.9GB

    ........2.9GB( that is Hidden away) and stores the recovery data

    I really like the 15 minute windows reinstall ....i could really format and reinstall in 15 minutes!!.....and yeah they game me CDs but cant keep the CDs with me all the time.

     

    so is there a way to make a partition of GB and hide it away and use it to the restore it to factory default using this partition!

    Come on guys Microtek is good with costomer service!!( atleast...in delhi/NCR)

    I have a double battery 800VA UPS....that i baught an year ago( <year) recently its motherboard went kaput and one of its battery died....i caled MT and all they asked was the serial no. then next day their guy came in...replaced the board and the battery......and all good!!

     

    I have a MT UPS-cum-Inverter to 850 VA....... when that gave problem ...the service guy came next day too!!

     

    In support i'll give them 9/10!!....Cause thy dont ask many questions ....just the serial no. and then they send in their guy......even if you forgot to switch on and thought UPS is not working properly!!!

    APC has Many variants here in india out of which 550 and 650 VA are readily available( 550 ..2K, 650..3K)

     

    IF you just want to connect the cpu and the Monitor ( considering its less than 24" LCD/ 19" CRT) ...you are well to go with 650 VA one

    ...but if you are connecting the speackers as well( ....i donno why ?...) you will need more.

     

    above 650 APC offers 750 VA ups but these are very costly....around 6.5K...!

    The strong central beam was intentionally made to act like a targeting reticule because if it was a more spread out beam, it would have been easier for the player, which is bad for a action thriller. just my thoughts. :naughty:

     

    i see your point but the beam must be complete.....

    ....and also it looked to me like only(not strong) beam......the surrounding beam was absent !!(((....some what)

    The E3 AW show was awesome ............Sound, Graphics, Gameplaywise!!!

     

     

    BUT......something can be done about the flashlight alan is holding.......if it was any other game....i wouldn't have said anything but cause this is a darkness oriented game the flashlight should be perfect!!!( remember Doom 3):

    .....the central beam is too intense .....or should i say there is not much of the secondary beam....dont get me wrong when the light falls on any surface everything is great( its just the beam)

    and I dont think so ....resume option are available to premium rapidshare members ......so if you want resume you might want ask some of your friends weather they have one ..........same account can be used simultaneously by two users.
