Got a really really good deal. Got 3080 Ultra OC for only 74k, which is very close to MSRP for the reference version (71k) and assuming custom OC versions cost a few bucks extra anyway, 74k seems MSRP only, which is something I didnt expect at all in this day and age. Got it from i7 peripherals in Navi Mumbai. Guys I talked to so many sellers during past few days that I have a few good deals on 3080s. If anyone is interested, I can post their numbers/links here.

Any info on 6800XT (not 6800) prices in India? One website has it listed at 70000, which seems about right IF the cards are available in quantity. Otherwise everything will shoot up. I am very very confused. I am able to get a 3080 tomorrow at 80k, and 6800XT seems to be at 70k (assuming I get it at that price). With a 10K difference I get ~7% better performance at 4k (which I game at), DLSS, far better raytracing and probably better drivers, but I miss out on 6GB of extra VRAM. Shall I wait for 6800XT, hoping it will indeed be available at 70k, or go for the 80k 3080? (the rest of my build is ready which makes the wait even harder :()

Havent they been quoting this 3-4 weeks max thing since past few weeks? I doubt at this point there is going to be much stock for 3080 at least. Nvidia has moved on to newer versions (the Tis) if rumors are to be believed. I've been waiting since 3 weeks when Nvidia dropped prices of the FEs, and now 3-4 weeks more is the guess? Damn!

That was indeed the intention. It's not actually cheap. Regarding your other post @HundredProofSam there are benchmarks that show SAM helps around 2-10% depending upon the game. Although nvidia has confirmed that they will also enable this in their future updates. Its just a standard PCI Express feature that AMD calls SAM. There is nothing stopping it from working on other processors or mobos. I said 10900k costs 40k, not 10600k

I personally went with a AMD 5600x. It's the 'cheapest' (cost me 27000) in the lineup and whoops a*s of 10600k and often beats 10900k (which costs 40000 i think) much lower power consumption and heat. Right now its THE gaming CPU. A personal opinion, of course.

I guess will wait some more. Hopefully it will come and RPtech will contact. They are NVidia's official retailer in India. Someone posted their email a couple of pages back. They waitlist people for cards.
-
Does anyone think ki Founders edition 3080 will come in stock actually for India? Ya aise hi Nvidia walo ne goodwill ke liye prices kam kar diye with no intention of actually having any stock? Kabse waitlist main naam dalwaake time waste kar raha hu.

In current environment that's a pretty good price. Generally, this would've been too high for this card, but these new launches of everything have been an absolute shitshow for the customers. Its ridiculous.

Hehe. Gotta respect the hustle, even if he is an a$$hole about it sometimes on Twitter:p
-
In India? Where was it even available?
-
How do they notify us in case the stock arrives and we are eligible to get one? Over email?
-
Just wrong information in all probability. Thet just saw '19th Nov rest of the world' and assumed India was included. Video games related reporting is not very good in india.

Yeah its he who comes out as jacka$$ here. Dont know why he got offended.

I am in Pune. Can be done.

Yupe. My family kinda accepted that I like video games and what not and now understand why I like it (my mother even sat and watched me playing the whole of Uncharted lost legacy. Maybe indian culture setting and temples intrigued her) but my wife is borderline irrational about it. She hates it, even though my gaming has gone down drastically after marriage (though I plan to increase it again), barely an hour a week. She keeps ranting about it. 'Who plays video game itna bada hoke?', 'Before becoming your girlfriend I didn't know you played video games otherwise i wouldn't have got in a relationship with you.', 'Even my brother says why does your husband plays video games?' I mean wtf. She keeps giving example of a cousin of hers who apparently ruined his life because of video games or something. Nevertheless I finally had enough and had to tell her to STFU about this as I like it just as she likes partying and just like I dont understand her spending so much money on makeup etc but I dont bother her she shouldn't bother me. I was polite but firm. That seems to have worked. For now at least. So yeah, people really don't understand gaming here and that's the main reason why consoles dont sell much. It's not so much about money. People spend that much money easy on phones. P.S.- To be fair, I did have an ex who loved playing video games. She and I used to play together. She finished Last of us over a weekend. So not all are like that:p

Nahi bhai nahi. Yahi se lunga. No reason to risk it. Custom wale pakad le woh issue alag then warranty issued alag.

Thanks for the info. Good thing I started building my new PC. Will enjoy it till Jan then. Hopefully tab tak ratchet and clank and horizon bhi horizon pe honge (pun intended). And agar company work from home December ke baad bhi rakhe toh bahot hi acchha :p

No point in going for 10900k. It's much more expensive and 5600x is anyway better than it in most gaming benchmarks. 10900k is also much more power hungry, hotter and doesnt support PCI Express 4. Go for 5600x and use the close to 13k saved on better graphics card, motherboard with pcie4 etc.
-
You will get 5800x close to 40 right now (I believe I saw one at slightly less than 40 yesterday). One is here for 40698- https://www.tpstech.in/products/amd-ryzen-7-5800x-desktop-processor-8-cores-up-to-4-7ghz-36mb-cache-am4-socket Though personally, it makes very little sense for gaming. The price is 50% higher than 5600x but with very little performance gain at low resolutions and no gain at 4k. Of course, it does have 2 more cores and if you do a lot of productivity tasks such as photoshopping and video editing etc then get it. Purely for gaming it makes very little sense.
-
Thats indeed a completely fair point. I personally am planning to get a AMD 6800XT graphics card (if I can get one at launch at all :p) so it made sense to get 5600x so that then I can combine it will a 5 series motherboard and get the SAM benefit (5-10% gaming advantage according to AMD). Even if I somehow go back to getting a Nvidia 3080 again (if 6800XT gets bad reviews etc), 5600x is still a gaming monster so it made perfect sense for me. But yeah, anything other than absolutely top-line (and even at top-line in some cases) graphics card, 3600x/3700x will do just fine.
-
Honestly, why do you care if its a budget offering, as long as it performs better, uses less power and supports all features that other 5000 series processors do? I mean its not budget really at 27k but nevertheless. And it destroys the 10600k in gaming and everything. It even beats 10900k a lot of times (which is THE offering from intel). Just Look at the benchmarks below. I wouldnt buy 10900k in its place (which is far more expensive anyway), let alone 10600k-
-
Headsup everyone. 5600x is available at MRP price of 27128 at tpstech, in case anyone is interested. I just ordered one. @HundredProofSam https://www.tpstech.in/products/amd-ryzen-5-5600x-desktop-processor
-
Its still available at a few places but with inflated prices and I am not sure if I can trust those palces Please do post here in case you find them close to 27-28k somewhere. I will do too.

Jitne PS5s is video main hain, uske aadhe bhi bhej dete India toh kaam ho jaata.

Congratulations! That's an awesome build! How did you get the 3080 founders edition? I thought these things were nowhere to be found, especially in India.
