When I bought there were no legit ones. I even checked with bose customer support.

So I had to go for duplicates anyway, on amaon it was very expensive and I had the time to wait too.

How much was it on Aliexpress? Its roughly a 100 bucks on Amazon. I don't mind spending a bit more to get as close to legit Bose cushions as possible.

Plus I think Amazon it just more convenient....

Do let us know how gaming is with Jio fiber, if you get it.

I play Apex Legends with my mates every weekend. We live in the same society, practically neighbours. I use local broadband (a little expensive but good), but one of them uses Jio Fiber. The other is on Airtel Fiber. Around 50 ping on Bahrain, 150-160 on EU servers~ London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam for both Jio and Airtel. I also get similar ping, but I'm stuck with around 50-60 mbps on 5Ghz band, while they get upwards of 140 mpbs.

  3. My top 5 games this gen -

    1. RDR2. Characters, story, the world itself. And Dutch with his Tahiti vacation plans

    2. Uncharted 4. Drake fanboy through and through I'm afraid.

    3. Witcher 3. I'm not finished yet, but hopefully this year.

    4. UC Lost Legacy. I liked the shorter length of the game.

    5. Apex Legends. Been playing this wayy too much.

GOW ain't on the list cuz I haven't played it yet :fear1:

Still need to play that, and GoT

  4. Now that the Sony WH-1000XM4 are gonna be available soon, does that mean we're also gonna get a Bsose QC 45?

Or is the, Bose 700 supposed to be it?

I've always been on the Bose side of things because the comfort is unparalleled, but if I'm gonna make a change soon I thinking I'm leaning towards the Sony XM4 in a few months when the price comes down.

Release price will be approx 30K I assume, whereas the XM3 is always on discount during big sale for 18-19K.

Shantaram is alright man..was blown away when I read it during my younger days.

Tried rereading it a few months back. It's terribly written. Avoid

I really love Shantaram. Has a lot of heart.

Thanks guys. I'll give it a try next month, if I'm not liking it I'll just pick something else.

  6. Half way through Jade City, and HOLY f**k is this book amazing. I'm blown away considering this is a debut novel. I'd give it a 9/10, bump it to a 10 if it ends well. The sequel is also supposedly amazing.

Also maybe too much fantasy and sci-fi, thinking I'll take up @adity 's rec and read Shantaram sometime this year. Preferably before November, because from then I'm gonna be reading at least 4 books which are 1000+ pages, and Shantaram is also a thicc boy

The series started the year I was born. I am 23 now and there are still 2 books remaining. GRRM is a morbidly obese 71 year old man. I'm not hopeful.

Lmaoo true. Yeah but supposedly he didn't want to put out books while the show is running and all that jazz. Twitter and Reddit make it seem there might be another one next year, finally.

Or maybe @dylanjosh we get a deja vu, like how Jordan died, so Sanderson wrote the last 3 and they were some of the best ones in Wheel of Time. :P

Idk if they'll get somebody to complete this too, so it might take GRRM's death to quench out thirst for the ending to this lol.

I hope whoever does it is good though. Joe Abercrombie is the king of dark fantasy right now, but perhaps GRRM himself can do it.

I stopped reading once I realised GRRM will die before finishing the series.

Supposedly the next one is really in the pipeline. Idk how reliable the tweets are though lol

I haven't read it completely either, but its been a couple years so though I'd start from scratch and hopefully we'll have the next one by the time I'm done reading (not likely)

But same here, that is the reason I stopped reading ASOIAF myself

Feeling compelled to get royal now, lol. But I think I'll get it after an year or two. Witcher 3 itself is so massive. Gonna play some short games after that.

    Tsushima?

Setting aside concerns about handling Chinese literature, they're good at adapting from a novel. Its only when they have to make up their own stuff that they go apeshit.

As far as I know, Martin was around for most of the show. They botched up the ending which he didn't approve, but supposedly they just wanted to move on from this.

A large part of the community hates them for what they did. But maybe this being finished material is gonna make it better, and they won't make stuff up and stick to the source.

  11.

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are back, and they're adapting Three-Body Problem for Netflix.

On one hand, sounds great. Game of Thrones, and now Wheel of Time (Amazon Prime) , Witcher (Netflix) , Six of Crows (Netflix), Dune, Three-Body Problem (Netflix), things are looking up for SFF book adaptations.

Plus a new Lord of the Rings show :wOOtjumpy: (Amazon Prime)

On the other hand, I haven't watched the last seasons yet but I know they screwed it up big time, so how do you guys feel about this?

So the American idiot knew about the deadlines of the virus back in Feb but did not want public to panic so downplayed it. (Said it on tape) its all over the news. How many of you think this was the right thing to do , or it was Absolutely wrong?

It is relevant anymore? We're about to hit 1L cases in a day, talking about some american idiot isn't fruitful by any means. I think this thread has already established quite a few facts about Americans being dumb idiots.

Feel so dejected when I go out. So many people not using proper masks. Idiots will doom us all.

Sometimes I feel like this is the theme of the thread lol :P

Can't be helped man, its every man for himself. Stay home as much as possible, there ain't any point in policing dumbf**ks (unless you're a certain shopkeeper in Goa :fear1:

Oh yeah! My most anticipated movie of the year.

      Reveal hidden contents

That is if I can see it this year

Same. Been wanting an adaptation ever since I read the book. Also the background score is gonna be :wOOtjumpy:

Also, how do I not know this has Jason Momoa in the cast? Lol

A 10k premium. Hopefully if we get a 10% cashback on Debt/Credit, even if it's capped at 3k. Then I personally think it makes sense to buy from India. No waiting around for the flights to start and trying to get hold of someone or go on a trip to get it yourself. You'll get warranty too.

Sam's post above says 13K. I might be willing to spend an extra 10K (after 3K off with CC/DC) if I was getting the PS5 which will be 50K hopefully.

For the Series S, which should be 22K as per US prices, it pinches me more paying that kind of a premium for warranty lol.

I'm in no hurry to buy this, might as well buy it whenever I go abroad. Will have to see UK prices as I might go sometime next year. I just wanna play Forza in peace.

Hopefully regional pricing with regard to PS5 is better. But no hurry to get to that either. Unless there is a new Uncharted title, or something from Rockstar, I'm fine with the PS4 for another year or so.

Edit- I do have a 4K TV though, so it might make sense to just go for Series X. The money I pay in India for Series S can get me the big brother if I can haul it from the US.

Monday gone and we are back to 90k. By Thursday we should hit 1 lakh per day.

Also Pune becomes first district in India to cross 2 lakh cases. Reason given is more testing. That's like saying own goal was scored because I scored in my own net or I got hit wicket because I hit my own stumps.

Plus, the entrance exams were conducted these past 10 days. Lakhs of students sit for these. Now they followed precautions really well, I have several friends who gave exams this year but as always parents crowding outside the exam center and such.

So if there is a bigger jump than expected, that could be the reason behind it.

highest rated of all times .... like above classics like lotr / godfather ? anyway, started with the second one .... another 1000 pages awaits :D

Yes. In terms of numbers its the best book ever. Of course, numbers are not perfect, but its not like Amazon reviews where people give it a bad rating for the book being torn or something.

Goodreads is used by dedicated readers, and so the score is accurate enough. PS. Number 2 is The Way of Kings and Number 3 is Oathrbringer if I'm not wrong lol.

Anyway, yeah WoR is great, enjoy man. Of course, stuff like LOTR don't need any numbers, they're in a class by themselves.

  17. @Ne0 Guess we'll read it and discuss thoughts here. If there are more people interested in reading the book when it comes out, we could create a separate spoiler thread to discuss freely.

    @Madmage @roun90 what say?

In other news, reading Jade City (chef's kiss, fantastic) and its probably my favourite book this year until Book 4 of Stormlight Archives comes out. Review-

Completed 'the way of the kings', I literally binged on the last two acts (including the epilogue).  The book is good,  the lore is intriguing and the world building is spectacular.  Best part is that the exposition of the overarching plot is just about right.  The author doesn't reveal too much nor too less , keeping the proceedings interesting and not just filling it with useless sub-plots.

Bought the next books in the series on my kindle.  I guess, at this rate, I would be done with the next 2 much before the new book launches in November :P

I binged the next two books :fear1:

Lol yeah, glad you enjoyed the first one, have fun with the next 2. PS. There is a book by Sanderson called Warbreaker. Its a part of the Cosmere, along with Stormlight, Mistborn, Elantris, Edgedancer etc. But anyway there is a good chunk of influence of Warbreaker in the third book, Oathbringer and a little bit in the second book, Words of Radiance.

So when I first read em, I read Warbreaker before starting Book 2 of Stormlight. You can skip it now if you want, but I'd recommend reading it before Book 3. Its also a really good book, a bit short but solid nonetheless.

PS. Book 2, Words of Radiance is the HIGHEST rated book on Goodreads of all time. Essentially, its the best book ever written. Amazing times ahead
