Either way, good for us. 0pKjuas.png

It sure as hell would be good for us.

The main problem could be the pricing to make it entirely viable for a lot of regions. PC games are still cheaper than Console games in the same region.

Anything around 100$ or less for a year would be perfect. FIFA, BF and Anthem and everything else in between would just be a bonus (Games that I will install and never play  )

Well, Game Pass is $10 per month n origin access is around $7 per month. Premier access is even pricier. I fell we end up paying more than we have to. I know there is an option to cancel them anytime but still..

10$+15$ is 25$ a month. Still half price of a full game. Get on a monthly plan as and when you want to play a game.

For those who are sure that they will play a game for a long time should ideally buy the game outright and for those (like me) who are unsure and don't have a lit of time to game can opt for these subs and pay a fraction and still enjoy the game as and when they get the time to play.

@Joe Cool Premier subscription is yet to be announced for Xbox, hope they bring it over.

  3. Have they confirmed Japanese VO for the western release? Major deal breaker if I am forced to play this with English VO.

I hope they release it this year, don't have much going on in terms of SP later this year besides Spider Man and RDR2.

Around 12 more hours to go :wOOtjumpy:

Not sure how it works on consoles but on PC you can simply create a new account -> use the code -> switch back to the main account and continue playing.

There is no region or any kind of restriction.

Its the same on xbox, make a new account, redeem one month trial code, set that account aas home console on your xbox, switch to your main GT and play away.

Instead of using the above method, I opted to pick up the 6 month pass for 30 $, split two ways with my game sharing buddy and no more hassle of creating/switching accounts etc.

It does since they took forever to fix the game and Forzathon was bad.

At least this time it's coming to Game Pass day 1. Use trial or $2 monthly code and enjoy.

Which 2$ month code are you referring to? The One Month trial codes cannot be used on an account which has subscribed to game pass in the past.

Wonder if combat will be like Sekiro or something different.

The trailer looked very rough on the edges.

I guess this will be more of a SP experience for all and not a kick in the nuts like Nioh, Souls.

No way i am buying an Xbox until they improve the catalogue.

I was literally responding to your previous post "If somehow I buy Xbox"

If this will have a beta, I'll play that first. Didn't horizon 3 get boring after a while?

Most games get boring after a while. Play it enough and it will start to get boring. Isn't that how it is with every game.

It never got boring for me personally. Still fun to drive around with friends.

True system seller. Not halo not gears, this is the real deal i think.

Absolutely Spectacular. If somehow i get an Xbox, this will be the first game.

Crew2 is looking to mimic it i guess.

You will find plenty of deals for the X in the wild.

Or you could simply build yourself a PC and make use of the Xbox Game pass as this title will be part of Play Anywhere program.

My sony all in one died yesterday and thus need a new one. I am not looking to go DIY since I really don't have the time for R&D and like the integrated controls of tv and system, so mainly looking for another all one, can be soundbar design as well. Still I am open to suggestions for going some other way.

I don't need 4k pass through or HDCP since I use HDMI ARC as my tv supports full PCM Dolby/Dts through ARC.

I don't have a definite budget but looking for a price to performance one rather than high end.

Right now I am researching a bit on Yamaha YT-1840, Onkyo HTS 3800 or Sony RT40 for a bit of a lower range.

So please suggest any you have in mind.

Recommend the Onkyo HTIB. I recently upgraded mine from an Onkyo 3300 to an Onkyo HT-S9800THX. It is amazing and well worth the money.

I am in love with the sound fidelity and channel separation the unit offers and was a major-major upgrade for me personally.

Coming to what you have stated with regards HDCP 2.2 not being important, I personally feel that having HDCP 2.2 compliant devices across your entire setup is extremely important. You should ideally have all your devices connected to your receiver and then use the HDMI out on the receiver to connect with the TV.

This eradicates any possible HDMI handshake issues and will give you full power of the receiver's audio decoding capabilities which will far surpass anything that your TV can do. Something else to keep in mind is that ARC doesn't support object based sound formats like Dolby Atmos or DTS:X.

If you have a little more budget, suggest demoing the Onkyo 5800 or 7800. They both have the same speaker package with top firing Atmos enabled speakers. They only differ in terms of the receiver, the 7800 has two hdmi outs and more hdmi inputs and few more bells and whistles that the 5800 receiver lacks.

In my A/V setup, my PC, PS4 PRO, Xbox One X and Tata SKY HD box are all connected to the Onkyo 9800 receiver. The main HDMI out is connected to a Hisense m7000 65" 4K HDR TV and the sub HDMI out is connected to a 23" Dell Monitor (SP2309W).

Guys suggest a budget smart bulb that can be controlled with an phone app. Like lowering brightness and changing colors. Remember Budget one not the 5k or 8k ones.

Go for yeelight range of smart lighting solutions. Order from ebay.in or aliexpress. LINK

I personally use their RGB LED Strip and it is amazing.

I bought fire TV gen 3. You can sideload apps. I did it. And it is capable of playing any 4k files you can. And when it comes to usb support it accepts usb. But via OTG. Well why do you need usb when you can stream it from your pc to fire TV? Or just play directly from fire TV? Anyhow upto you. I would suggest Nvidia shield or fire TV. But firetv is cheapest.

My pc is a dinosaur, Athlon X 3. I won't be able to stream 4k content using plex etc.

Can you tell me more about the usb OTG. How large a HDD have you connected? All my HDDs are in NTFS format and 2/4tb. Is it USB 2.0 or 3.0.

Does Fire TV work with IR? Have a Harmony One remote which works on IR only.

I am currently trying to see if I can get someone to bring in the Nvidia Shield from the US. Fingers crossed

You do know Amazon fire TV also has android in it? You can install MX player and play any format you want.

And for YouTube support you always can use YouTube Vance....ad-free version of YouTube. It's only for Android though

The Gen 3 Amazon Fire TV runs on Fire OS 6, which is based on Android API level 25. I am not sure if you need to sideload apps like the previous iterations or you can install apps directly.

But i do I think that you may want to check on what "any format" files this is capable of playing. It's 4k@60HZ with HDR is limited.

It can do Hardware accelerated up to 3840x2160p (4K) @ 60fps, 35 Mbps, Color space 8-bit and 10-bit rateinput with HDR10 support.

However 4K UHD remuxes often have bitrates of over 50 Mbps.It also lacks a USB port so forget attaching an external hdd.

It does work best as a streaming device and but not so much as a media playback device.

Did this. Tempted to pickup Detroit now with the added incentive of 20% off

Used the code from a similar challenge last month for God of War and Yakuza 6.

Am hoping that next week sales has a few interesting games, can add them all to cart and apply this discount. It will be perfect :D

Older generation coz the current is too expensive?

I guess, like you suggested.... will have to keep waiting for some time if I want to make ideal HTPC or call it quits and settle for the Nvidia Shield.

When i last made a 1080p capable HTPC, it wasn't this hard emoji20.png

You can also go for Amazon Fire TV gen 3 pendant design route. It supports 4k and can stream everything. Nvidia Shield is more powerful though. It has Better processing power.

Can't since it doesn't play 4K MKV rips and has sketchy YouTube support  :fear1:

Why going for older generation hardware?

Also, with that limited I/O for close to ~30.000, yeah! I will suggest waiting.

Plex supports 4K HDR stream over a local network.

Netflix 4K content is pretty garbage.

Netflix content in 4K HDR is limited and the compression on it is pretty brutal :( and for Plex to stream 4K HDR over local network I will have to beef up my PC.

If you can hold off on the purchase, newer AMD motherboards will be arriving with updated HDMI standard ports.

So e-retail or offline retail? Which city, town?

I can hold off for a few months for sure. Rates for PC components is getting really crazy right now.

I live in Gurgaon and will most likely buy from Nehru Place if that is cheaper than online.

Alternatively, I could even go the Intel NUC route which all things considered makes most sense. Will have to dispose off my Internals HDD or create a separate NAS out of the HDDs and run that in parallel to the NUC. Maybe this ?

    MSi  B350M PRO-VDH

Thanks for the reply however the board you suggested only has HDMI 1.4.

One of my main criteria with this build is to have HDMI 2.0 a/b support as this is needed to playback content @ 4K 60HZ with HDR.

    Any other motherboard alternatives?

The other route that i can take is go with a Nvidia Pascal card but that will inflate my budget and increase overall TDP which I am not really keen on.

I will have to pickup the components from India, somewhere in India and I am ok to compromise on some of the mounting options if need be to get the right chasis.

I honestly dont know if you want to build an HTPC with broadband speeds going up and more options to stream coming in every day.

I have an HTPC right now and I am selling it because it is just straight up lying unused since I just stream everything off the Chromecast right now. Honestly dont think its worth it.

Depends on what one is streaming, I am making the HTPC primarily to play remux files of UHD which are 4K with HDR. The only capable streaming device that can play these files while also doing prime and netflix 4k is the Nvidia Shield. Plus you can't torrent on a chromecast :P

  18. Need your inputs guys for building a HTPC. My basic requirements are listed below

    • Main Objective: Should be able to play 4K videos with HDR at 60HZ and bitstream dolby atmos audio
    • Secondary Objective: Should be quiet with low TDP. This will run 24hrs a day and will double up as plex server
    • Motherboard: Budget board of Mini or Micro ATX.
    • CPU: Intel or AMD, either is fine. Low TDP at a reasonable cost.
    • GPU: Onboard GPU or fan less Graphic Card if need be
    • Ram: Minimal ram to support 4k playback and normal PC usage
    • Case: Should be small and ideally with enough room to add at least 3x3.5" HDD and 2x2.5" SSD. No Optical Drives needed
    • PSU: Enough to power the components while keeping a lower noise and power footprint. There will be no upgrades done so headroom is not required
    • Other Specs: HDMI out on Motherboard/GPU should meet HDMI 2.0a/b specifications
    • Budget: 30K (You can exclude I/O peripherals, Speakers etc.)

Do keep in mind that this won't be used for gaming at all as I already have a Xbox One X and a PS4 PRO for gaming.

This build is purely for consuming media of the 4k variety and for running 24x7 as a plex server and for running a torrent client.

Alternatively, I have been exploring the possibility of getting an Intel NUC or just get the best streaming device available right now i.e Nvidia Shield. But both don't fit some of my requirements listed above.

    @ALPHA17 Any thoughts?

Sanchez is a fkin ball waster!!!

That's what he did when he was with us at Arsenal as well. When things don't go his or the team's way, he stops passing and takes on impossible dribbles and looses the ball.

  20. Finally finished the game over the weekend, spent too much time roaming and doing side quests and in hindsight, should have played it in on a higher difficulty :(

What an amazing game, worth getting a Pro for playing this alone. Now bring on Spidey

  21. I am still interested to see how this turns out. Am sort of glad that this got pushed back to next year. Enough SP games this year to keep us busy in any case.

Comparisons with TLOU is justified at least based on the game play demo that they first showed last year. Even the color palette seems similar.

Will put this down under 'Buy when on sale' category for now.

    60fps on Xbox?

Close to 60FPS and it looks phenomenal.

I think I will play it on 4k mode with locked 30fps. So much eye candy

I still have blood and wine to finish. Perfect time for the patch to come out just before the Christmas and New Year long weekends
