  1. is Robinho really coming back to City post the end of his loan to Santos? That team is a gold mine for anyone needing spares to replace broken components in their own teams lol

Haha. Very True. I am still wondering when they are going to put these players on sale... :scratchchin: Any mid table team will be able to strengthen their squad with these players. Robinho's situation is a bit tricky. He costed the club shitloads of money and now he has become a pricy liability.

  2. Good match. Chicha scored a really funny goal. I was LMAO. Anyways a goal is a goal and it will give him a lot of confidence as its a competitive goal to his credit.

Also, I am telling you guys. There is a reason Berba retired from international football. I have a feeling he is trying really hard to make himself counted amongst United's prolific goal scorers and I feel he has improved himself over the preseason period. You can see he looks a lot more energetic and sharp than he was last season. :good:

Did not see the whole match as I was out for a party. Anyways cant wait for the season to begin.

  3. Fantastic friendly match for United.

Final Score: Manchester United 7-1 against Airtricity XI.

Brilliant Goal by Micheal Owen. Chicharito scored with his first touch of the match... That man is on fire. :wOOtjumpy: Played a good passing game and won a penalty which Nani converted. Valencia capped his first appearence since his ankle injury with a man of the match performance. He provided many assists and scored a cool goal.

    Park - 2 goals

    Owen - 1 goal

    Chicharito - 1 goal

    Valencia - 1 goal

    Evans - 1 goal

    Nani - 1 goal (pen)

    :D

  4. ^^

Ok I am an Internet noob... :fear: The reason I asked that question was that was when I basically download documents and other stuff it takes its own sweet time. So wanted to know the funda behind steam downloads. :chair:

  5. in theory, you can download 900MB per hour on a 2 meg line. however, with the speeds we practically get (which are obviously lower and fluctuate), you can still download about 700-800MB. so that's 10 hours to download 7 gigs.

Man that changes everything... Steam deals FTW then... :happydance:

    Edit: Repped :)

  6. On an avg It takes 6 hours to download 7GB for me :) ...provided the speed remains above 80% my max speed.

And the last game which I bought off steam (but released here) was L4D1, I pre-purchased it but when it was available for pre-download I went out of station for 3 weeks...lol. Never pre purchased a game since then. (more like I "can't" pre purchase..in most cases since its hard for me to find someone with a credit card xD)

    And I<3 steam :happydance:

WTH. Steam optimizes the dl speeds or something? Tyler says with a 2 MBps connection he can dl a 7 gb game overnight... My broadband is running at the same speed. Never tried it but I never knew I could dl at that rate. :O

  7.

have fun there Sami.. i hear bernabau has some really cushy benches.

beech could have come here and played. now would be wasting at lest a season or 2 of his playing career sitting on his a*s.

My thoughts exactly... When the team has the likes of Xabi Alonso and Kaka in their ranks and were stupid enough to offload Sneijder, why would any midfielder wanna go to Madrid? I am a fan of Khedira's talents but EPL was a better place for him to shine (anywhere else except Madrid). Not a place of prima-donnas and a president with the level of patience matching a 2 year old. :ack:

PS: BTW Tom Cleverley is having an awesome preseason... :O Chicha scored again... :panic: This time against us... :P

  8. We won last night and of all people David N'gog saved the day ... :wOOtjumpy:

I am shocked to say the least lol

I am telling you I have a good feeling about Hodgson... Liverpool is going to benefit with this kind of a manager. He is a person who thinks logically and you wont see him destroying Liverpool with the so called ROTATION POLICY nonsense... :P

@Devilsown: Hehe. The terminology is from FM thats all. Otherwise the qualities are the same... :P

  9. you missed out Carrick. Accepted he had a pathetic last season, but he is a brilliant creative mid fielder when playing well. If you were to talk of players 'who can make those passes over the top or through balls for him' i would rate the following in order -

Scholes, Carrick, Berba, Anderson, Giggsy, Rooney and Fletch.

Carrick has to take the torch of running our midfield from Scholes this year. Scholes wont play a lot and we need that class in the midfield

    Agree and +1. :)

I have always been a stauch supporter of Carrick. Never felt he was pathetic last season. He was called upon to do defensive duties most of the time last season with the injuries happening to our defenders. Not his forte.

Also heard many people say Carrick will be sold but always knew SAF is not a fool to do that. People blaming him for Olic's goal in CL are dimwits. As a midfielder he did well to track all the way back but could not outmuscle him off the ball. Not his mistake as his primary duty did not involve covering and indulging in a dogfight with Olic. I feel he is a more of a deep lying playmaker who can put in some tackles rather than an out and out defensive midfielder.

Anyways when people like Xavi and other stalwarts say that England lost out of the WC because Carrick was not in the starting 11, it speaks volumes about the guys talent. :)

  10. I was kinda hoping to see Anderson at the WC but sadly I think his injuries let him down. Nevermind the fact that Nani missed out too but your right, you'll do have a set of good youngsters but is it enough to win the title?

Depends how the stalwarts perform. If the Rooneys, Berbatovs and the Nanis plunder a few goals in then title is definitely achievable. That would mean the youngsters will have less burden to share. If not then its gonna be another one of those FA CUP/CARLING CUP seasons. :(

  11. I would say Get rid of Berbatov and Get Back Tevez lol

    and Yea a Defender

I prefer a lazy striker (albeit full of class) rather than a player who migrated to our greatest rivals. <_< And just like Somebody (no pun intended :P) even I have high hopes on Berbatov and believe this could be his season. :fear:

    40. Torres

    41. Balotelli

    42.Milner

    Try reducing this :panic:

From that list, I would like to see Ireland coming to Old Trafford. Good talented midfielder. And either Shay Given or Joe Hart(preferably) to shore up our GK area in the future. :P

  13.

PS - when is the city garage sale starting

I am loving this situation in Manchester City. It seems they are pursuing targets without any sort of order or planning. I am not even sure that they paid any heed to this rule before they pursued their targets.

Mancini is almost on the verge of signing Balotelli and he has proclaimed his interest in pursuing Torres. Its an EPIC pawnage for Tevez who apparently went there to "win big things". :ha:

Sweet Revenge will be sweet.

  14.

I knew about this rule thanks to Football Manager 10... :P Its a serious pain in the a*s and one of the prime reasons United have not dipped into the transfer market this season.

Apparently SAF is going to exclude Hargreaves and Anderson from the squad because of their injury problems. Welbeck will be sent on loan to accommodate Chicharito. I am happy with the United youth squad policy and will be exciting to watch them in action.

  15. ^^ L4D2

Ok... Will buy L4D2 next. Seen afty play that game a lot of time... Played L4D on XBL and it was a fun experience... :)

OT: Someone in the forum told me Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is the best splinter cell game... True? False? :fear:

  16. agree - SAF may not sign any more players, but am praying too that atleast someone likes Ozil comes in...United desperately needs a goalscoring midfielder - an Ozil can develop as one...Fletcher is excellent but he doesn't score as many goals - he will complement Ozil in a defensive midfield role very well...

Would hate to see Park being played again in a United shirt - don't think he is United class...except a couple of games I think he didn't do much last season - doesn't have pace, or flair, and gives away possession too much...don't think a player should be in the team just bcoz of 'industry' - thats too much of a defensive attitude by SAF...I think SAF realized this by the end of the season and Park hardly played any role in last 7-8 matches...

Well I have always been a fan of Park. His versatility is amazing. He can play in wide areas as well as center of the midfield. Agreed he is no Scholes or Giggs but as a team United do need services of such players who dont complain about the lack of opportunities and continue doing their job as expected... Same way I like John O Shea as well... These players are not what you call world class and every season I hear rubbish in orkut Manutd community where one fanboy or the other wants to sell them but when required to do a job they give their 100%. And thats what i like. :)

  17. Well Oezil won't be 12 mil, not if Real have entered the fray anyway. And Fergie won't push too much in that case.

I am hoping for is that we get Rafael Van Der Vaart on the cheap if Oezil does make his way to Real. :fear:

I doubt if Madrid will be interested in Ozil. They have already signed Angel Di Maria who is a left sided player and also have the likes of Kaka and Xabi Alonso in midfield which is hard to replace. I have heard that since Ozil is in his final year of contract and wont be signing an extension Werder Bremen are willing to listen to any offers coming their way. They prefer selling him for some money rather than losing him on a free transfer... :)

The only competition that we may face for the signing of Ozil is from Chelsea and maybe Arsenal (if they enter the race). City can go to hell with their millions and a squad size which currently stands at a margin much higher than the limit... :P
