Don’t know. The free upgrade is still not concrete per the amazon US and PS app. If you look at GOTG PS4 in amazon US, you will see the free upgrade clearly mentioned.

Even if you don’t preorder, these bonuses (mostly skins and items) won’t disappear. Just that they will be paid DLC. In 99% cases they are useless. In physical preorders, there are steel books and tshirts offered but those are rare.

Yes some of the things I prefer about Japanese manga/anime to American comics/cartoons are that in the former there are no multiple universes and political undertones. One complete story from start to finish before the author work on another story. Different dramas like Mechs/shonen and obscure ones like Dr.stone and Attack on Titan etc The American comic industry are mostly about superheroes and multiple universes which majority of us know about 5% of them. Thanks to the Marvel movies, we got to know more of them like the Eternals.

IMO, most of them are upgrades due to hardware front. There is nothing from the software front. Those are provided free from some 3rd parties publishers.
