  1. I almost purchased the base game (P5) a year back but somehow delayed it and then I had a lot of backlog to clear. But now P5R has peaked my interest and I think I might just bite the bullet. Going to go in fresh, have never played a single JRPG before. I hope I am pleasantly surprised because I am still a little skeptical.

Tried to search and only found the steel book version online. Was there ever a standard edition which was cheaper ?

The steel book is priced at around 3.2 k on Amazon which is not that bad considering it is a steel book but just checking if I am missing something ?

Very hard to find a preowned copy, was the physical copy not easily available in India ?

@adity @GameAnalyzer maybe you guys can help because I think you two have recently played the game.

  2. I enjoyed GoT a lot more than TLOU 2 and that's not to knock on TLOU 2. Great game in its own right. GoT is my GOTY pick for sure.
No doubt that both are brilliant games and a great farewell to the PS4. What an amazing time it is to be a gamer. Cheers!
  3. It is indeed better than TLOU 2. Very similar in its approach with Botw as well to the point sometimes I would look at a stack of smoke and want to get the binoluars thingy out to tag it but then remembered it's a different game.
The music in GoT is also really, really good. Does a really good job with the immersion.
I don't think it can top TLOU2, that game was another level maybe it's unfair to compare the two specially with TLOU2 being more linear.

However, I feel TLOU2 knocks it out of the park in every aspect if we compare simillar aspects like graphics (hands down the best graphics this gen), gameplay (the stealth was much better in TLOU2; I won't compare combat), detailing, cut scenes, music (imo TLOU2 music and songs were amazing), I also felt TLOU2 was way more immersive and engaging from start to end. I think the only thing one can nitpick is the story, hell I thought even the story was brilliant and brought out so many emotions of the gamer.

GoT is definitely one of the best open world games this gen but I don't think it's a better game than TLOU2 overall.
  4. To ensure a game to be frre even after its free month for ps plus is over. Is it enough to just put it in basket? Or do I have to download? I can't access my PS4 as of now. But I have the app and actually bought ps plus from their web using mobile only.
No you don't need to download the game. As long as you add it to the basket and do a checkout it will be available in your library. You can download it later as long as you are subscribed to PS+.

Out of curiosity. What polish you are talking about here regarding open world in HZD while comparing it with RDR2? ?

Not comparing HZD and RDR2, neither am I talking about the polish of the open world. In fact what I was getting at was the lack of polish in GoT in terms of certain sequences of grappling or fight sequences which are indoors - many times the environmental objects block the camera or the enemy. Also, many cut scenes have issues of texturing/lip sync etc. I didn't experience any of these issues in RDR2 or HZD.

Already looked next gen to me on PS4

Hands down the best graphics and visuals of this generation.

I think it will be able to take on some next gen games in this department easily.

  7. Done with the game. Tsushima liberated fully, all side quests done, mythic tales done.
I've already talked about how good the game is. Best thing is how well the progression is handled without the need for levels. Like as you go further into the game, enemies start getting better weapons and armor, new enemy types, existing enemies start using more combos and their attacks get harder to read.
Easily the best open world of this gen simply because of how pretty and zen it is. You are not chasing question marks like a madman. A golden bird could nudge in some direction and you could choose to just not follow it. If you do follow it, you could get anything, a shrine, a hot water spring, mythical tale, quests.
But tbh the very best part of the game is the combat and the sheer variety of possible builds. I just want a gauntlet mode type where I can just kill mongols all day. Really stoked for the MP update.
Solid 9/10 not 10/10 because it still fell into the open world trappings of tailing missions, track footsteps, etc and while the story was good, it wasn't mind blowing or anything.
100% agreed. Although I am just 12 hrs in so I won't give a verdict but easily one of the best open world games of this generation. Doesn't have the polish of RDR2 or Horizon but the art style and combat more than makes up for it.

After building a stupidly big backlog. Never ever buy a game thinking I'll get it now for cheap and play it few months down the line. Games keep dropping in price every 3 months. So only buy when you actually wanna play. At least until the 1k mark. Games may not drop below that.

Yeah I have started doing that now. My backlog kept on growing so eventually I just stopped buying games for playing at a later date.

But I am guilty of picking up one or two if the deal is too tempting :wallbash:

There is a sale round the year but some sales are better than others.

Basically those themed sales like Christmas sale, summer sale, etc. typically have better deals than those random under xx rupees sale or whatever.

Yup, the Christmas Sale has the best deals afaik.

Keep 'em coming. Good for us, bad for our wallets.

  10. Finished it yesterday. Still processing everything but I have to say this has to be one of the most immersive gaming experience I have had on the PS4.

This and GOW have to be the best games to come out on the PS4, I think we will have to wait for a long time before any game tops these two.
