Samsung Frame 2020 (55 Inch) Refresh Rate different for Indian version? I compared the 55 inch models from both Samsung's US and India. The US website says refresh rate is MR 240 (120 Hz) but the Indian site says MR 200 (100 Hz?) Pic - https://imgur.com/6DQe5Bg Can anyone tell if these both are the same or is Samsung selling downgraded TV in India?

Yup.. this is why I was skeptical about Toshiba. Some reviews on rtings for budget FALD TVs advised users to turn off local dimming for a better experience. I see that you recently bought Frame 2020. Would love to hear some thoughts about its HDR performance and other features.

My list is finally down to two TVs - Samsung Frame 2020 (55 inch) - http://dl.flipkart.com/dl/samsung-frame-138cm-55-inch-ultra-hd-4k-qled-smart-tv/p/itm699b9564b5ef6?pid=TVSFQQJ8GMWBTAFK&cmpid=product.share.pp Toshiba 55U7980 - https://www.amazon.in/dp/B08BXYTZCH/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_x_1zSHFbH7Y00JS The Samsung Frame has 120 Hz panel, but around 30k more than Toshiba. Toshiba only has 60 hz panel, but has full array LED with local dimming, peak brightness 700 nits (compared to 590 nits on Frame). Any suggestions/advice would be welcome.

Go with Samsung if you watch/play games on your TV in a dark room and sit a bit closer to TV. Being a VA panel it's always good with black levels and contrast. Sony has IPS panel, which has good viewing angles and colour reproduction but really sucks in dark rooms. It requires biased lighting of some kind to compensate for the poor black levels and the dreaded IPS glow in dark scenes in movies/games.

Correction : MS outclassed Sony in CPU cooling department, not the hardware. As far as the hardware goes, PS4 and PS4 Pro's design is still superior to all Xbox models. Replacing/upgrading the hard drive cleaning the internals is still so much easier, safer and convenient to do on PS4s. On the OG Xbox, Xbox One S and X, it's still pain in the a*s as you need to remove metal casings, ribbon cables, lifting the optical drive out of its place, just to access the hard drive. And you still need to remove the power cable, SATA cable to remove the HDD, and remove the hard drive itself from its bracket. A total of 35 screws, and 25 mins of careful delicate work. And doing this on any Xbox model requires you to remove warranty seals and you can't sell your console at stores like CeX if you remove warranty stickers. And Microsoft also does annoying things like this by selling you a rechargeable battery kit for the controller for $60, which is a total rip off. They should be including it with every controller.

PS5 - Official Teardown

It looks like the trademark issue of PS5 is true. You can search for the trademark created by a guy named Hitesh Aswani. (image - https://imgur.com/EGjg3IB) Website - https://ipindiaonline.gov.in/tmrpublicsearch/frmmain.aspx wordmark - PS5 Class - 28 Edit: Looks like this guy also applied for Xbox Series X in February 2020 (link - https://imgur.com/q1gAuWu) But Microsoft didn't have a problem. I think this won't be an issue.

PS5 preorders started in even in Pakistan, still no word about India. https://imgur.com/gallery/6OB7VCC

Thanks. They have the 50 inch in stock. I’ll wait for the 55”.

Great. Do you know where it's usually available? On Flipkart, they are only selling last year's model.

Just found out that Hisense acquired Toshiba, so essentially these are Hisense TVs. They have good reviews in America and UK.

Frame 2020 (55 inch) looks compelling. If the price drops to 70k, I will consider it.

Just had a look. Wow. Didn’t know Toshiba is offering FALD and 700 nit peak brightness for 50k. Will surely look deep into this model.

Looking to buy a TV for PS5/XSX. 120 hz is not a requirement. I just need good HDR. Budget 50-70k. Please suggest.

DualSense controller has an inbuilt mic, so I don’t need a headset with mic that works with PlayStation. I hope I can connect my XM3s with the DualSense and be able to use the mic on the controller. Oddly, the XM3’s mic isn’t detected on DS4.

Why are people crazy to buy the console at launch? Owning a new console is a mediocre experience in its first year of release due to the lack of content. Consoles peak in their last 2-3 years of lifecycle.

Samsung Q80T 49 inch is a good option under 1 lakh, you can get it for 80k. It doesn't have 120 hz panel on the 49" model but comes with FALD and shines at HDR content. VA panel ,so provides great contrast and black levels. If you want 120 hz panel in this price, go for LG SM9000.. available on flipkart for 85k. Only downside is, it has mediocre local dimming and it's an IPS panel, so not good for dark room viewing. No perfect black reproduction.
