  1. the fanboy meltdown in this thread is quite amazing. don't think we've had so much fun in a specific thread in quite some time

No one is having a meltdown fyi.

    :slap:

  2. taking bets now... in this game, how many times do you think your character will be running towards the camera as the bridge/roof/corridor behind you disintegrates/explodes/catches fire in the background?

So that makes it a bad game? Why can't scripted linear games and open-world games co-exist? You can't say one type of game design is better than the other. Nope.

  3. What I really find disturbing about Uncharted is that the cutscenes show Drake as a happy-go-lucky Indiana Jones type adventurer. But outside of them he guns down thousands of no-name mercenaries, agents and PMC guys. Sure they're out to kill him but it's still a little jarring to see how much blood this "nice guy" has on his hands. The disconnect is somewhat similar to the RE games. Characters do insane stuff in cutscenes but in-game they cannot even move and shoot at the same time.

Don't get me wrong, I love Uncharted. But I wish it was less of a shooter. Kinda like Mirror's Edge. The enemies there were armed and out to kill you but you had the option to take them down non-lethally.

I agree. I would prefer that as well. It's just no fun shooting enemies in Uncharted most of the times. But I guess it's good for padding. I love the vertical combat though, they need to find a way to keep that in as well.

Also, Nemo is a cool guy. He was in DKK and stuff, so back off people! Let him have his fun.

  4. Way to go Spin for not caring about anyone's opinion. I see you getting butthurt over people not agreeing to your choices. That Skyrim wont get any GOTY, thanks to its ridiculous bugs. Even amateur developers have less bugs than that in their games. Heck even Ra.One the game might have less bugs than that. Fanboys like you can ignore bugs but not neutral people. Weren't you the one going apesh*t over bugs in SR3 thread? Why biased opinion here? Just because its RPG?

There's hardly any bugs in the PC version. Spin may have a strong opinion here, but I'll go with him this time. Skyrim is such a wonderfully crafted game, especially when you look at the sheer amount of things you can do here. There is never a dull moment mostly, and when the game gives you so much freedom, with vast areas to explore at such a graphical fidelity, you really have to question the other games out there.

I like Uncharted 3, though. I think the soundtrack is fantastic, and the multiplayer component is very solid as well, but when you meet (main story spoiler) Parthurnax in Skyrim, your mind will be blown away in so many ways, it's really hard to explain.

It's pretty much hooked me into its immersive world, so its my GOTY as well. Anyway, it depends. GOTY awards go to the most popular games, and I think Skyrim is pretty much mainstream now so it has a chance of winning.
