Can't seem to install the latest nVidia drivers. I have an 8800GTX. At the end of the installation process, it says that nothing was changed.
Anyone else faced any such issue?
You have to boot in safe mode, Use driver cleaner and remove all the traces of old driver.
http://www.drivercleaner.net/ Then reinstall the new driver again. Ya it happens on Vista usually.

there is an option to upscale dvds - but what about saved vids in an external hdd? and does it upscale or stretch?
and finally - how do i know what resolution the games are running at?
It stretches the vids stored in hdd. atm only dvd and ps2 games. I think your lcd should display what res its running at, you can know from the size of the text that if its 576p or 720p.

Use 720p for games and 1080i for movies. 720p > 1080i. progressive vs interlaced. You should keep the settings at 720p.

what is upscaled by the PS3? I am using HDMI cable with 26" TV - the TV supports 576i, 720p, 1080i as per the PS3 tests. I have set the mode at 1080i in the PS3.
Games I assume will play at 1080i. What about videos encoded at lower resolutions? Are they upscaled or are they just stretched to fit the screen?
PS3 has an awesome upscaler, enable it in the settings. Ya u need hdmi put in a dvd and it will upscale it to the maximum available resolution

because it cant be changed later so you can access the US PSN store.I choose india when i got a ps3 and well
