My calculations average time to 1st victory - 15 hours assuming 1 victory in 4 runs of average 30 minutes - total 18 hours for 9 runs total game time - 33 hours

Go to club> achievements and stats or compare with any other player or check your exophase

During your playthrough, have you played in this manner - 1) no hesitation - seamlessly pressing the right buttons on the fly like attack, deflect, dodge, jump, mikiri counter - all without stopping? Facing the enemy head-on at all times 2) Or were you running around avoiding boss attacks and sneaking in your attacks only during certain manageable attacks? usually, I think new players go for the 2nd style but they may transition to 1st style or stay with the 2nd style till the end because 1st style needs perfect timing and hand-eye coordinate without any hesitation - a pro player

How many have beaten last boss and then left the game? I beat the last boss and thought I’ll now do the next run on weekend but didn’t do it. Played some other game after beating the game, there aren’t new bosses or significantly different and new experiences to keep playing daily

Videos shows the difference gif is actually incorrectly made. They should have compared to the next screen. They wrongly conpared to the previous screen, a mode which doesn’t need to exist on ps5 means ps5 can run ps4 pro resolution mode in 60fps, why would it bother with PS4 pro fps mode
-
well, the comparison here is between the wrong modes PS5 runs backcompat of PS4 Pro resolution mode with higher particles density. Meanwhile the gif that you are looking at is PS4 Pro fps mode with lower quality than resolution mode

There’s a dedicated data decompressor in the PS5 I/O complex which is designed keeping in mind Kraken compression data with proper Kraken format compressed data, the 5.5gbps PS5 SSD transforms into a 22gbps this is assets and textures data - details in the world which can be streamed on-the-fly when you are moving the character because the architecture supports massive on-the-fly data streaming, world design capability for a developer with PS5 will surpass any other platform
-
PS5 has powerful CPU, GPU and RAM combo. It’s sufficient. Meanwhile, others don’t have data streaming capabilities (which ps5 has) which is necessary for ultra detailed worlds - that’s the key ingredient
-
1) gpu and TFs don’t matter. PS5 already gives enough resolution and fps 2) here’s what makes the difference - The data streaming capabilities will make the game worlds ultra detailed. Details need data and data streaming Today, average PC has hdd and ratchet and clank rift apart can’t run on those PCs becoz super fast data streaming on PS5 and that data streaming pipeline not yet fully utilised!!! We are only at the beginning. Imagine the data that will be streamed when peak PS5 exclusives come out and how detailed the world will be that’s the difference pcie 3 is saturated at 3.5gbps and pcie 4 at 7gbps - that’s pc for you meanwhile on ps5, the data streaming output capacity is upto 22gbps!!! with proper kraken data. Imagine the worlds and the details that can be designed on this hardware which pc SSD can give 22gbps of data throughput capability? Impossible at average PC level
-
rubbish don’t speak about me again. I have spent hours reading about this matter and watched “The Road to PS5” architecture video many times what do you know? I’ve not heard any technical argument from you countering what I am saying
-
You only have to read about how PS5’s SSD, I/O Complex and Kraken Compression all work together. You would easily be on the same page as me
-
it would be delusional if I had no backing. And I have solid backing Also, when I say pc, I mean “average” gaming pc meanwhile, you are thinking about rtx 3090 builds which less than 1%, or something, pc gamers would have. Rest would have average builds and PS5 is significantly more powerful than average gaming PCs also, there’s no match for PS5 SSD + I/O complex combo and the game design capabilities that it provides developers 3090 pc build has brute force for fps and resolution but it likely doesn’t have the data streaming capabilities of PS5 architecture (at least not unless you spend 1000s of $) - that’s the secret magic ingredient for other-worldly PS5 exclusives it all adds up

imagine you are 2-3 years into this generation and think about an average playstation console and an average pc important to note that I am talking about “average” machines on each front an average gaming pc would be nowhere near an average gaming Playstation, the PS5 (with its custom architecture, it’s simply monstrous) average PC, for ps5 generation, will be the lower common denominator for example, a 3rd party ssd has to has to be of higher spec than internal ps5 ssd just to cope up with the architecture and currently, ps5 exclusives are not even near the kraken data quality which will be there when ps5 exclusives are at their peak that’s why
-
yes, but it is wise to not respond and nip the situation in the bud You can easily say “meh, doesn’t matter to me” and move on to another constructive discussion topic you can give meaningful and helpful analysis to help and educate fellow gamers in an objective manner. It’s a choice whether to ignore bs and focus on value addition or keep going after “eye for an eye” back and forth
-
seems implausible with PS5 exclusives when you compare average PS5 hardware with average PC hardware
-
don’t derail this thread with personal remarks, or any other thread for that matter why don’t divert your focus on posting informative stuff which is helpful for everyone?
-
finally some more footage!
-
now this is some quality summary analysis. It gives fellow gamers confidence about their purchase since this case is very ambiguous in terms of value proposition and it's not a small sum of money this kind of analysis is informative and adds value to the gaming community on this forum others who have spent some time to understand the update may post any other points that may have been missed - they shall receive my thanks in return (not console wars or trolling)
-
PS5 SSD + I/O Complex flexing it muscles, f**k yeah! Meanwhile, other mortals trembling
-
I am not looking for a simple 'yes, worth it' or 'no, not worth it' I asked for substantiation of opinion by an analysis and weighing of pros vs cons
