PlayStation vs Xbox vs Nintendo thread

to counter balance these views, here's my experience - BB was my very 1st Fromsoft game and 1st one is always the hardest. When I started BB, I played only 1 game at a time and I finished the base game and the DLC straight in one shot, playing daily - must have taken me around 60-90 hours. A very enjoyable and memorable challenge. Will return to it when I get the PS5 - I missed the chalice dungeons and the bosses. The hardest boss for me was Ludwig from the DLC. -
So go or no go on RE8? The setting is absolutely beautiful - that's my lure for the game I just started RE7 in anticipation of RE8 RE8 is in my cart right now!!! What should I do!!!???

don’t insult a next gen console by playing a last gen game Only Demons Souls or Returnal qualify ( or SM MM)

BB is tame. Try DLC or Chalice Dungeons -

I never shot a thing while jumping/dashing. I only use jump/dash mainly to get to a tactically superior position and then unload the maximum possible dps. I use meathook significantly to damage combos with blood punch and granades what bindings do you use? Maybe I could improve my own playstyle -

Completed Gears of War 4 9/10 overall Brilliant audio visual presentation. Right up there with the titans of the industry. Tight gameplay. Finally started Doom Eternal The Ancient Gods DLC Part 1 with XSX controller on Nightmare difficulty. Now this is called a tough game. If you take a pause or hesitate even for a split second, you die. Still managed to clear 1 tough area after starting cold after more than a month. -
After more than a month of postponing and completing 3 games, I fired this up again. Starting with The Ancient Gods DLC Part 1 on XSX with Xbox controller on Nightmare difficulty. (base game completed on Nightmare) Managed to clear 1 tough area after coming in cold. Good warm up for muscle memory and getting a feel of all weapons/mods/items. This game is pure instinct. No thinking. If you pause for a split second to look around or think, you die. Sheer awesomeness.

they actually do implement a different resolution without tampering the actual code. Take any game that does 4k30. With fps boost it’ll do 1080p60 what I want them to do is just convert 4k30 to 4k60 which is simple than what’s mentioned above because this only involves doubling framerate while keeping resolution intact and my demands should be heeded by MS because I am one of the earliest buyers/adopters of XSX on the planet. I booted my unit up on 12th Nov 2020 and worldwide launch was on 10th. -

unlikely to be a bug/issue. It is a deliberate choice on the part of MS fps boost team. There’s already a DF take on fps boost implementation of Fallout 4, 76 etc -

can XSX do double rendering for games meant for X1 and X1X considering the hardware leap? Remember those DF videos covering unlocked games and “transformative” experience? -

Can XSX run Gears 4 and FH3 at 4K@60? Yes! Because we have seen it do 4k@60 Gears 5 and FH4. Should fps boost do this? Yes! Can fps boost do this? Nope ? -

Gears 4 runs Visual mode on X1X at 4K@30fps. I am playing it on XSX at the same spec Today, after the announcement which mentioned Gears 4, I expected XSX to run Gears 4 at 4k@60. That didn’t happen. I will have to finish the game at 30fps on XSX Btw, FH3 a gem, still runs at 30fps on XSX. These are rare good 1st party titles. Get them to run at 60fps. -

but what about improved XSX hardware? It’s miles better than X1X and X1. XSX should do twice what oldies were doing very easily - why trade off resolution? -

I played full game at 4k. Looks too good on a big TV. Didn’t mind sacrificing 60fps people spent big bucks to get the disc for the 60fps. Now people like me who got digital for ₹78 get redemption with this 60fps boost I think fps boost is excellent for games from earlier part of last decade - people who didn’t manage to play them -

because I checked it. It looks the same as performance mode before fps boost - blurry and mushy I owna 65 inch LG OLED and sit 6 feet from the TV and I can easily see the MASSIVE downgrade of image quality after fps boost. if you untick the fps boost toggle, you get the 2 “pre-fps boost” modes back, so it’s easy to check side by side -

after fps boost, there’s no performance mode in settings. It runs at 1080p 60 - no other option -

Typo before boost, performance mode was 1080p@60fps -

It’s still 1080p@60fps on XSX after fps boost -

Here’s how Microsoft MASSIVELY f**ked up Game - Gears of War 4 Before fps boost - There are 2 graphics options 1) Performance mode 1080p@60fps 2) Visuals mode 4k@30fps This mode uses ultra quality textures, higher quality ambient occlusion, better shadow detail and improved texture filtering. All in all, this is a massive boost compared to the 1080p presentation. The game is a massive 117GB and all that data goes to this mode. After fps boost - After ticking the fps boost toggle, I noticed that there’s no graphics option in settings. Only one mode exists. So I booted up the game and the image looked like a replica of Performance mode before the fps boost. So, after fps boost, you get 1080p@60fps but without ultra quality textures, higher quality ambient occlusion, better shadow detail and improved texture filtering. It looks like utter crap as if vaseline is applied to the image - just dull. I own a 65 inch LG OLED and sit 6 feet from the TV and I can easily see the MASSIVE downgrade of image quality after fps boost. No use of fps boost. For fps boost, MS just lowers the resolution and graphics effects in order to hit 60fps with stability in many games There may be only a handful of games which don’t compromise other aspects while hitting 60fps.
