The Xbox Series X|S thread
0verlord replied to Heaven Angel's topic in News, Rumours and Discussions
I played a lot of Dirt 4 over the last 10 days. It's leaving Gamepass today. I think it's an amazing game - 8.75/10 - tight, technical and a lot of fun. I had FH4 installed before Dirt 4 and I played more Dirt 4 than FH4. Dirt 5 should be pretty good as well. Will start in 1-2 days once download finishes. -
will check tomorrow. Trying to finish Dirt 4 as it is leaving Gamepass today

There’s an interesting question. On Gamepass app, you can schedule download to start once game is available on Gamepass. On *Xbox* app, you can download immediately but it’ll say you will have to buy before playing but it’ll allow you to preload. What would happen if you preload this way? For example, if you preload this way and run it before it’s available on Gamepass, it’ll ask you to buy it. But if you wait till it’s available on Gamepass, will you suddenly be able to play? Will Xbox tell the game that it can be played now that it’s on Gamepass. -

I have added Dirt 5 *ahem* Mitti 5, to download on day 1 through the Gamepass app. I think that after this step, it’ll automatically start downloading the moment Dirt 5 is available on Gamepass and not pre-load to let you play the moment it is available on Gamepass. It also says Dirt 5 is coming 2/26/2021 UTC - what’s UTC? -

Doesn’t this setting cause ghosting effect? Specially while aiming. Technically yes but I am not finding it noticeable while playing this game
-
Yes, everyone and their grandma have assumed that it’ll be called GoWR based on this dialogue alone Ragnarok is the ending event. It might be the plot of the 3rd concluding game of the new series

I have an older OLED. It’s in Picture settings > picture mode settings > picture options > Trumotion > user > turn de-judder to 10

God of War Director Teases That 'Ragnarok' Might Not Be the PS5 Sequel's Title - this thread is likely to be renamed https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/god-of-war-ps5-ragnarok-tease/

Finished QB - very good game 8.5/10 Started Control Ultimate Edition on XSX yesterday. Opening credits are sick!! I am doing a little trick to get ~60fps with ray-tracing. I have a LG OLED which has a de-judder setting which converts 30fps into almost 60fps by making it much smoother. So, my settings are - Graphics mode with ray-tracing, film grain ON - I like the "film" look, motion blur ON - helps with motion smoothing, LG de-judder at 10. A very smooth experience with ray-tracing enabled.

just start the game with the same save slot, your achieved ending will be listed for the save slot. For some help on how to get different endings - https://nierautomata.wiki.fextralife.com/Endings+Guide I don't think there are any spoilers in the above link but you can read how to get 1st 2-3 endings - the major ones. Once you get your 1st ending, you can go on the endings achievement spree.

Excellent. The live episodes are also good. The only irritating thing is having to read long optional in-game emails to get the back story.

really need a revised controller - triggers losing tension, stick drifts...

This comes in at a good time! I am just finishing up Quantum Break, will start Control UE next week on XSX

Achievement Hunters Thread (PC and Xbox)

what are the easiest achievements on gamepass games today? I want to top the gamerscore table this month -
it is the battle between androids (representing humans) and machines (representing aliens) to take back the earth. Humans were driven to the moon by aliens/machines and they are trying to reclaim earth by sending androids. 2b is an android. there are telephone booth like things called access points throughout the world where you save. The more you explore the world the more access point save locations you will encounter - they are placed strategically throughout the world. when you go near access point, press B then save screen opens. For the first save point, you have to start the game and play for some time without dying - you have to defeat few areas and few bosses before you get your 1st save point. Saving is available from the menu screen in any location when the "Saving Possible" icon appears in the upper-right corner of the screen.

xyab buttons also make a lot of noise compared to DS4. But I love the assurance of d-pad clicks and RB/LB clicks and smoothness of RT/LT -
New Super Lucky's Tale (120fps) and Sniper Elite 4 (60fps) on Gamepass - got FPS Boost feature, check them out

Indies I've played due to gamepass - many Indies I've played on PS2, PS3, PS4 Pro - none - money spent only for AAA PS exclusives

The article says that the analyst estimates that 50+ Million subscribers is a very good number for profitability and sustainability. Currently, it stands at around 18 Million. From the consoles, XSS is an affordable offering to drive the subscription numbers over the next 5-7 years. We can also consider PC and Android Gamepass subscriptions. Xbox head of marketing says that they are targeting 3 Billion gamers across the world. Achieving 50+ Million subscribers out of a potential target market market of 3 Billion gamers is feasible I would say.

“For Game Pass Microsoft's costs are predominantly up front - like, say, the "over $100 million" Jim Ryan mentioned for developing a triple-A game, or the $7.5 billion Microsoft spent on acquiring developer-publisher titan ZeniMax Media - as opposed to being incurred each time another player subscribes. Those enormous sums then also shrink a little when put next to the amount of revenue Microsoft could actually earn from its subscribers. Some very rough napkin maths: if 18m people are on the cheapest, PC or console-only $9.99 a month plan, that works out at just under $180m a month, or $2.15bn a year, if they all stuck around.” @hsk_colossus @adity I think you guys were debating on the above point a few months ago
