Started the game a few hours ago. Began with RT mode. It looked cool, but I wasn't wowed. After a few battles, switched to 60FPS mode and then couldn't go back. Going from 60 to 30FPS is so jarring, in that case even RT is not worth it. The game also looks really great even without the RT effects. Cubemaps/SSR still hold well.
Regarding haptic feedback on R2, is anyone else bothered by it. I had to turn down the intensity to like 15%. The granular vibrations(like feeling the individual steps) is nice though.
If Control ray-tracing is not satisfactory on consoles, I don't have any hope for this gen hardware. 60fps is the only option and saving grace for all future games unless you have 1080p + RT + 60fps option is given by devs - which is very low res.
But still, with God of War on PS4 Pro, I played on 4K 30 fps mode throughout coz it's too good looking, only switched to 60fps mode after dying many times. I kind of value graphical fidelity over fps. Will check with Control and if my opinion changes.

My friend plays on iPad regularly. Graphics are pretty decent but not same as PC/Consoles. Last gen console is bit slow with loading but PS5 I heard is very solid.
I checked, it’s not available on XSX, what a shame

iPad or PS4 Pro for me, don’t have a PC

Many a controllers and TVs have been shattered by Ninja Gaiden rage. Be careful not to lose the money in bank in an attempt to save the money on the table
I made progress! Quitting the game took me back to save statue and I bought health items and defeated the boss in 1st try!
I am playing on normal difficulty (acolyte), so should be complete the game within the deadline. #MaximumGamingValuePer₹

Should I play Genshin Impact on iPad? Is there graphics parity with consoles/PC?

This monke game has me excited. 2023 is the release date says.. Should be on new gen Consoles and PC.
This looks like a combination of God of War and Sekiro but has it’s own unique personality. Devs come off as very talented. Their website is also very fascinating. -

Halp! I am trying to complete Ninja gaiden 2 by 15th feb as it’s leaving Gamepass.
I am at the end of chapter 4 but I don’t have health items at all and boss is too hard without health items.
Should I leave the game? I feel like I’ll be leaving money on the table. For me, the game is good but not must play. I only started playing because it’s leaving Gamepass I would have never started it otherwise. There are other games I really want to play already which I already installed and started also.
But if I don’t complete now, I’ll never play it ever. What to do????

50-60fps then SX is fine
PS5 does locked 60fps because it's a lower resolution. XSX can manage a higher resolution with 60fps in ~99% areas. PS5 can't do that in 99% areas so devs dropped the resolution for a locked 60fps - that clearly tells you that XSX has more horsepower

So tested it out last night. While playing the PS5, I switched off the mains connection of the UPS and the switchover was perfect. Didn't see how long it would last, though there's enoughy warning built in with audible cues for low battery.
The fan that switches on when on UPS power brings out a smell from the unit that I just cannot explain. Smells weird. Doesn't last long though since either the light comes back or I turn off the PS5 and the UPS.
Overall a decent buy at 6k.Can you try this and tell what happens - with mains on, start a graphics heavy game and go to a dense area where processing load is as high as possible and then switch off the mains to check the response of the UPS. My current UPS does fine in menus but crashes in-game with heavy load

turned off the Film Grain
while playing TLOU 2, I also initially turned off film grain and it looked great but I had also looked at this trailer and couldn't figure out why it didn't looks as good. Then I turned film grain on - that did the trick. I think it's pretty good for cinematic effect - I think many blu-ray movies have that effect. Also, it masks areas which are not graphically very polished.
Try film grain for sometime, I think you may come to love it

SX doesn't have a single game that unanimously runs better than PS5

another clear example of XSX kicking PS5's butt -
PS5 runs at a lower resolution and can't manage graphical effects like volumetric fog etc. compared to XSX
7 hours ago, CarbonCore said:See for yourself, runs at lower FPS on SX in certain levels. PS5 is pretty much locked 60fps everywhere. There hasn't been a clear winner like PS4 vs Xbone or Pro vs 1X.
hahaha, my dear @CarbonCore I highly recommend that you should see this video from start to end for clarifying your misconceptions

Well, @0verlord is on a crusade to prove XSX superiority
naah, I feel stupid. I have nothing to gain from it considering that I'll also be buying PS5 but a few years later when PS exclusive library is large enough.
So, what's the point of my crusade?? I think - none really. Best thing I can do is play (Gamepass) games and limit my discussions to that.

While PS5 APIs will be stuck in time.
Yes, but PS5’s 10TF GPU spec is stuck in time - software or APIs may improve but hardware has been finalised and that’s the limiting factor
30 minutes ago, CarbonCore said:SX will never have games specifically made for it from ground up
I want games made from scratch for all new consoles and not patched games - that should do the job, imo. A game engine’s target should be ps5/XSX/XSS gen hardware during the game development. The only problem with XSS is lack of memory which may preclude it from having ray-tracing features. For all the rest, XSS should be able to match ps5/XSX at a lower resolution. There’s no lowest common denominator as such. -

actual gameplay
My only actual question is does the higher CU count on XSX give it an advantage for future games which will be produced from scratch for ps5 and XSX.
Old games like Control were patched up but there will be a much different performance story with new games produced from scratch for ps5 and XSX in the future.
For example, for the 1st year of console launch XSX is struggling against ps5 as tools, APIs are not mature enough, maany games are only those which have been patched for new consoles.
After, the 1st year, the next 5-6 years could be a completely different story - new games made from scratch solely meant for new consoles, tools and APIs reaching maturity etc.

Remedy went extra mile to optimize PS5 version
That’s not the case. NXG says that PS5 has special hardware which enables it to stream data faster - this is usually the CPU’s task as done in PCs and XSX. That extra fast streaming hardware does away with data loading stutters found on PCs and XSX. Further, ray tracing APIs are lighter and better on PS5 - again this is likely to go away as directx APIs mature for XSX. -

Fire effects are terrific. Even new AAA games struggle with low quality fire.
Music - gorgeous, a unique vibe
Somehow, I am more hyped for this game than GoW Ragnarok
