  1. Finished the game - loved it.

Story - very immersive, hooked till the end.

Graphics - superb, especially lighting and materials. Reminds me of the Last of Us Part 2 and Bloodborne. Some levels are just amazing. Very mysterious atmosphere - excellent. But polishing in some places can be increased.

Audio - voice acting - excellent, and breathing sounds - unique

    Score - 8.75/10

There will likely be a sequel - looking forward to it!

  2. APC Back-UPS BX1100C-IN 1100VA / 660W has this issue, what do you think? I need it only for XSX, so 660W should be sufficient I think

Everything works fine with this UPS when it's running. The problem starts when you turn it off.
The moment you turn off the UPS and press the off switch in your room the fans start. Wait what? Shouldn't the fans stop?
Well that's where the flaw is. When you turn off the room switch the ups thinks that there has been a power outage and it starts, for 5 minutes and then it realises false alarm and turns off.

This is clearly a design flaw and if you go through the other reviews you can see everyone else is asking if this is normal. No it isn't. It's not supposed to start when it's powered off.
Good thing? APC knows it, they just don't care.
Will it reduce the UPS's life? Yep it will that's why they've kept the 1 year warranty.

    Exactly.

We know what the GPU performance difference is in paper.

Not sure how more frames help in photo mode though :D While the gameplay itself is pretty much identical, with few stutters on XSX (apparently a glitch (as always)).

Remedy capped the fps to 30fps on both so there’s no way to compare while playing but in photomode, that fps cap goes away and it acts as a performance benchmarking tool with ray-tracing enabled.

The point is - very good benchmarking tool for relevant power comparison between XSX and PS5

XSX kicking PS5's butt again!! Control with ray-tracing turned ON and un-capped fps in photo mode (in Quality mode and same exact settings) -

Scene 1 - XSX does 3% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 2 - XSX does 11% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 3 - XSX does 14% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Scene 4 - XSX does 20% better than PS5 in terms of fps

Outlier scenes - XSX does 36%(!!) better than PS5 in terms of fps

Out of 21 comparison scenes, on average XSX did 16% better than PS5 in terms of fps.

12 TFs of raw power - benchmarked on parity conditions with ray-tracing.

    RDR2 >>>>>>>>>>>>> RDR1

I feel that RDR 1 is pretty awesome because as as RDR 2 was ending, I just wanted to experience John’s journey in RDR 1 more than anything else. RDR 1 and John are just too classic

  9. Hi, I have an XSX and I have been using a Champion UPS 800VA or 480Watts. It just can’t support the xbox when full gaming load is active - xbox just shuts down when there’s a power outage while gaming. I read that XSX pulls upto 300-350 Watts of power and the UPS should ideally support upto 480 Watts. What’s happening? Should I get a higher wattage UPS? Please suggest a good UPS

    @Shantz
Most other games that support split-screen displays two different instances of the same location. In The Medium, the real and the spirit worlds look completely different and use their own sets of graphical assets, such as models or textures. This is much more demanding in terms of memory, storage, and the rendering cost.
Additionally, such effects as motion blur or ambient occlusion need to be calculated and rendered twice. All in all, the game requires a significant amount of VRAM and fast storage, much faster than what was used in the previous generation of hardware. Although it might look similar in screenshots or trailers, technically speaking the game’s dual reality simply works differently and is much more demanding power-wise than “ordinary” split-screen.

  12. Ninja Gaiden 2 leaving gamepass on 15th Feb - play immediately, it's a 7-8GB game

Any review from those who already played?

Performance -  The 2004 entry was a state of the art achievement on Xbox with a non-wavering 60fps frame-rate and gorgeous worlds to explore. In 2008, however, Ninja Gaiden 2 exhibited severe performance and screen-tearing issues alongside one of the lowest rendering resolutions on Xbox 360 - which is where the X-enhanced Xbox One X version comes into play. The original runs at just 1120x585 but on Microsoft's enhanced console, the resolution sees a 9x boost to 3360x1755. Thankfully, while the original resolution was very low, 2x MSAA was also utilised and applies to Xbox One X too, embellishing image quality still further.

Curiously, the game's visual style is well suited to higher resolutions. Rather than pushing then next-gen effects and post-processing, Ninja Gaiden 2 evolves the simple and clean style Team Ninja had become known for. As a result, at 1755p, the game is now a sight to behold. Texture filtering is massively improved, aliasing is nearly erased and character models are super clean. It just looks excellent in a way that the original on Xbox 360 does not. While it's not cutting edge, I feel the visual style works well enough that this could exist as a native Xbox One title. Of course, users of the standard Xbox One and the S model don't get these additional back-compat refinements, but there is still a good bump to performance and the complete elimination of screen-tearing.

ony shipped 4.5 million PS5 consoles last year, roughly in line with what analysts were expecting. It's expected to have sold 17.8 million units to date by the end of 2021, according to research firm Omdia, and 63.9 million by 2024. Microsoft's next-gen console sales, meanwhile, are expected reach 12.1 million units this year and 41.8 million by 2024.

I suggest you try an IEM with low impedance, plug straight into the controller, no amp/dac.

On a serious note, does your AMP/DAC setup sound really good? I have a DT770 Pro but don’t use it with controllers because of low power. I only plug in my IEMs.

With headphones on medium volume ?

Sound design is very good, sound of breathing is a very good touch for immersive-ness. Feels as if she’s beside me

Dual world idea is terrific - a novel experience

Graphics - very good, specifically lighting and materials remind me of the Last of Us Part 2
