  1. Happened to me as well.

Before the update, my PS5 was using the 5 ghz band on my WiFi.
After the update, it was using the 2.4 ghz band.

You can fix it by renaming your 5 Ghz band and reconnecting your PS5 again to the network.

I have it connected via ethernet so that can't be it i guess, but will try anyways, thanks

  2. ^^ For the guy in the video, the crashes occurred only when formatting the HDD with PS4 games. At least that means this is a firmware bug. Maybe wait for a few weeks for the next patch if the crashes aren't too severe else start looking for replacement options.

Yeah i have stopped using the hdd all together until we receive the next firmware update.

The last update was on feb 3rd I think, it’s been 2 months without any updates from sony which is kinda odd and disappointing

  3. Have you tried the usual stuff? Safe mode database rebuilding, resetting to factory defaults etc? Even if the issues persist after doing those things, it could still be a software problem. Better to wait for new firmware updates. We are still under warranty so it's fine. We haven't got a new update in a month so I don't know what the hell is Sony doing.
I did try database rebuilding and reset system settings after the first few crashes and didn't use hdd for a month or so had zero issues whatsoever then plugged in my hdd and played for about 12 hours for 2 days just test and everything was fine
The next day i was just on the menu and the screen went black followed by report error (ce-108262-9)
    So no luck.

My issues are similar to this-

he reported that it got more frequently and he had to send his console to sony to get a replacement which fixed his issues

  4. Guys while using external hdd games freeze crash with the error( ce-108255-1) even while playing ps5 games and sometimes on homescreen i get error(ce-108262-9)

These problems completely disappear on removing the HDD, i have tried multiple hdd on both the back ports and these issues remain.
This seems like a software issue which should be resolved with an update but i have not heard many people having this issue even some of my friends use hdd without problems

So could it be a hardware problem?

  5. Could it be that the console just updated itself to a new firmware while in rest mode? And that basically messed up the drivers for the network hardware? But if that's the case, many more such cases should have come up.
There's been no new system update available in recent time, try reset to default system settings

  6. Nice. I'll buy the PS VR 2 for sure if it has less wires and an easier setup. The first one felt like a beta product.
They did confirm it connects directly to ps5 with a single cable, and it has been found that the type c port supports external display so it will be via that almost certainly.

The article mentions that the headset will track the controllers so inside out tracking meaning none of that external camera bs

This sort of turned out to be the external hdd,
I removed it and did a database rebuild then everything runs perfectly since with 0 crashes or errors.

It generally causes a game crash(CE-108255-1) followed by these system error (CE-108262-9) when hdd was plugged in.
Happened 3 times in total tho when my hdd was connected.

Yikes man. Looks like the system software could be corrupted.

The below steps I've done several times during ps4 gen for self and friends. In those days it was invariably a failing hdd. Which once replaced needs these steps for reinstalling the OS or if one upgrades the internal hdd to a bigger one.

Just know this is a nuclear option. The internal ssd will be wiped clean.

Spiderman has a known issue to crash so its not hardware related..

Repair HDD is mainly if power went off or you turned off the power switch before it shut down properly.. Avoid rest mode for now and use it.. nothing to worry

I turned off the console properly and waited for the console lights to turn off before shutting down the ups, so that’s somewhat unlikely that power interruption was the issue

  10. Guys so i was playing Spiderman remastered yesterday and the game crashed saying an error occured, this was my first game crash on ps5 but i had heard about rt mode causing it on some consoles and so i went and changed it to performance mode from performance rt.

I played for few hours without issues but when i went to the home menu to close the game, the "closing game or app screen" took unusually long It generally closes in 1-2 secs but it lasted for about 40 secs this time and it kinda freaked me out.

I tried astro to check the issue and on booting it the "please wait" pop up came up and stayed for about a min before the game started. And closing it had the same issue 40 secs wait then i went ahead and turned off the ps5 which usually takes 3-5 secs but the white blinking light lasted a good 2 mins yesterday.

When i booted it up today morning, a "Repairing console storage " screen appeared for a few secs followed by rebuilding database After that the console worked normally for the few mins i tested with miles and astro.

I deleted Spiderman remastered and removed my external HDD, I should note i have not used rest mode at all since i had heard about the issues it has caused to some users. I have used the ps5 without any issues whatsoever since i got it on feb 9 till this.

Is this something i should be more worried about? Have u guys faced this issue before?
