Secondly, for games not on GP, youll have to spend $60/$70 and youll be stuck with it forever. Its better to either wait, or spend 15k more to get a series X with a disc drive. Atleast with the drive, you can enjoy games not on GP (via disc) and sell them later (after you are done with it)
Series L has failure written all over it , till Spender starts releasing actual big budget games on Gamepass
Series S is best value system after price increase of other systems. You can get it for 25k or so. And games look beautiful on it.

It's related to team quality.
Some years ago, studios used to say they have their A-team working on game. So it's a A game. Which used to mean best possible at that time.
Then eventually they started adding A's to emphasize that.

Finished Pentiment.
Great experience. It did some new unique things that coupled with fantastic writing made it very good.
It's a niche within a niche (historical text based rpg) and well worth playing if you like such games.

Half life alyx did win the VR game of the in 2020.
You can't expect a vr game, that too a steam exclusive not compatible with a widely sold consumer grade vr headset like ps vr to win the GoTy.
Also, like i said. Doom eternal was good. But better games released in 2020.
It did get nominated in the best action games category. And has won awards from other media houses.
Also, dafaq is the logic behind DE having a good soundtrack (that still plays in your head) so it should be tagged as a GoTy

Hot take-: I enjoyed Halo infinite's SP campaign much more than doom eternal.
2020 had better games, such as FF7 remake and trials of mana remake, even if we don't count Ghost of Tsushima (which in my opinion was much more deserving of Goty than tlou 2)
Again, personal opinion and all.
Doom Eternal it's music still plays in my head, after all this time of playing it.
Not saying it deserves most awards, that would be TLOU 2 cause its made on a template that wins awards.
But it and Half Life Alyx deserve some recognition. Cyberpunk winning more awards than these two is kinda wild and make me doubt credibility of GOTY awards.

I think you will burn out if you try to 100% any given area. They are filled with samey, repetitive puzzles.
Best, most elaborate puzzles are obviously in kept for main story. Just explore enough to upgrade your gear, then move to main quest.
But honestly, if you are not enjoying character chatter, I would suggest you drop it, cause I found it to be best part of the game.
Aphrodite talks like a POS who would make fun of basically anything you do. From your clothes to hairstyle to work-out you are doing. Likewise, all other gods had distinct personalities which I enjoyed.
Outside of that, game is good too but maybe I would rather play something like Assasins Creed Odeyssey.

HL Alyx was a VR only game. ofcourse itll get lesser reviews/awards.
This applies to every game ever made. Especially to Elden Ring and GOW R this year. Besides DE gameplay loop is nothing like 2016 version.
HL Alyx being VR title is just pointless excuse and reduce their credibility.

Its extremely difficult for an FPS to win a Goty unless it is groudbreaking. Should be as grounbreaking like HL2, Bioshock etc. We dont get such shooters these days.
