  1. Completed in just a day ? Seems short. Anyways, can't get wrong with Deathloop. It has annoying start, but ultimately quiet enjoyable. Pentiment is more of a niche title. Writing reminds me of good HBO shows. You are in a village talking to peasants, can't get any simpler than this. But writing is so natural and enjoyable. Feels like Dev's understand their setting very well and actually been there. I am talking to everyone I can find.

    Atomic Heart

Kinda curious how game will turn out. Gecko posted above the trailers were made as vertical slice and whole game will not be like this. It does look too good to be true IMHO.
  3. That too is a passion project. It however is more of a AAAA than an indie.
  4. If you know Obsidian, you will know type of games they excel at and always wanted to make. This is more of a passion project. This is what Josh Sawyer had to say in latest podcast. ""The old mentality of Publishers and Developers is generally focussed on larger investments with higher ROI (return on investment), and that's not the point in this environment, in this ecosystem." "(Game Pass) is the only way in which I conceive of (Pentiment) being viable." "For my own sake, making a game so different, I've completely shifted my thinking for (Pentiment). It is so unusual, so niche, it's for a small audience, and as long as that audience is into it, that's fine."
  5. There is a thing called pacing. If I am engaged in reading a book, I don't wanna do something else. That's how good writing is in Pentiment. Similarly if I am enjoying combat encounters, walking sections just take me out of experience.
  6. Jeez, maybe make a transportable SFF pc instead? Ridiculous pricing.
  7. Completed Act 1. I thought game was murder mystery but there is a lot more to it than that. I did mess up investigation and I am not sure I caught the culprit. But Dev's said that was intentional.
  8. Dude, am playing back to back games released by them. Currently playing Pentiment, I will reserve judgement till I finish it, but it's definitely going in wild direction. Pretty amazing so far.
  9. Cool. I need to check the game to see my background. Those names were confusing I am hearing time is a currency in the game and you spend it while investigating leads. Wouldn't be possible to investigate everything. Dev's also mentioned whether you caught culprit will be open to interpretation. Curious to see how that plays out.
  10. Agree, payback from story is higher in games compared to same level of story in shows/movies. Even a simple well made twist can work wonders in games.
  11. I am tempted to tell everyone I support Martin Luther and Church needs to modernise. Maybe in future playthrough.
  12. Never watching that. Come on bro
  13. I am fine with character development. I have issue with length of the section. As another mod said, let's not discuss this here. People are too sensetive even if there is no spoiler here. Don't have a PS5. You didn't knew that? Emotional stories /= good stories in my books. Good TV shows are far above and beyond these tactics of storytelling. People praise TLOU story as best in gaming. That has a family member die in your arms. Don't remember any good recent movie or show use that as pivot for entire plot. Last time I remember seeing something like that is in 1970s in Amitabh Bachchan movies. It's so old people have forgotten about it, and it's started to feel new again.
  14. Played Pentiment for 3 hrs. Writing in game is stellar. It's set in 16th century Europe and it captures culture and traditions beautifully. Also talking to every character I can find. Real role playing possibilities here, you can behave in any way you want. Works perfectly on Series S.
  15. You need a good connection with characters. Playing first part is a must imo. Recap won't do it justice.
  16. Makes no sense. FH5 won highest no of awards at show by a single game. https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/forza-horizon-5-it-takes-two-wins-awards-the-game-awards-2021 Bots are perhaps confusing it with Halo Infinite which was outside nomination window. But that won awards that matters, People's choice. So that's cool too.
  17. I didn't judged Stray. Pretty sure it's fine game for target audience. I am questioning why it should be nominated for GOTY? I haven't received any answer yet. In fact no one has mentioned why anyone should consider even playing it once, let alone be a GOTY candidate.
  18. Not my cup of tea. But that 64 doesn't stop me. Maybe some day if I am in mood I will give it a shot.
  19. I don't have anything against 60 meta games but I don't remember any I might've played recently.
  20. From the makers of Fallout New Vegas and Grounded. That alone makes it worth playing.
  21. I see videos of games before playing them. Stray doesn't make the cut. I don't tolerate OK, breezy games that you just play while being half asleep. If you think it's spectacular lemme know. I might be wrong about it. I played Plague Tale based on recommendation from here, it turned out worth playing.
