  1. Playing this. I just crash landed in what I think is Asgard(Edit : turned out to be helheim). Had to stop there. This ties my previous number 1 game so far. Anyways, I'm having this problem on the PS5 with GoW. The game keeps crashing when I put the PS5 in rest mode. The PS5 itself is fine but the game has crashed every time I tried putting it in rest mode. Anyone else have this problem? Is it something to worry about?

Skellige sucked for people wanted to do explore or 100%. The amount of cache were just too much. Not a fan of Ciri but fine.

Expansions were better than base game. Hearts of Stone was amazing.

I loved ciri and all the characters. Its really weird how nobody ever hated tw3 because geralt's a blunt kinda guy but a lot of ppl who don't hate geralt hate days gone cause deek is on the same lines. I liked the expansions and the main game just as much. Tw3 ranks like 7 or 8 on my list.

Yes same. I remember having lots of fun exploring Velen and Novigrad. Then Skellige came along and just looking at the amount of question marks on the map just exhausted me. Ended up not exploring that area much. I think part of the fault was that Velen+Novigrad itself was so huge so you kind of get tired there itself.

Hearths & Stone and Blood & Wine was brilliant and brought back the magic.

I actually find skelliga to be one of the better locations. Once you get into it u see how nice it is. I mostly skipped the q marks in the sea's till almost the end of the game. Still once I met up with yen on skelliga, which happened pretty soon, I was back in the game.

No comparison…..it was miles better & much more deep.

To be honest The Witcher 3 is quite comparable to Red Dead Redemption.

Though Rockstar north & the GTA series is still untouchable.

Its actually a perfect comparison. Both games have really good story and characters and pretty crappy most everything else.

Rdr2 story was also very blunt. It was just the character appeal. It felt like nothing was really hapenning most of the time. The antagonists were like ghosts in the conjuring. They just pop up and say boo, stick around a few seconds and gone. They next show up hours later. Then in the end they just eliminate them. Also very blunt. The alternate ending logic was subpar. The combat with guns is so repetitive. I never thought I would get bored just shooting.

Tw3 had comparative inferior visuals and the combat is clunky and unresponsive. Controls were all really really bad in rdr2 and some controls were bad in tw3. Tw3 combat eventually got repetitive by about the end of the game. Rdr2 I was bored out of my mind by chapter 3 - 4 ish.

Tw3 had good reason for having some of the problems and that is simply how old it is. Rdr2 has no excuses for their screw ups.

For me at least tw3 was way better than rdr2.

  4. I played this and both the expansions. Brilliant game. I didn't do any alchemy until like a quarter of the game. It was way more fun after I started.

The story was brilliant. 1 of the best I have ever played. The combat system wasn't good. It was clunky and often very irritating. If u just finished an AC game I would recommend waiting a while before starting this.

My only problem with the story is they stretched the search for ciri a bit too much. I mean there are 4 locations + the castle. You go throughout white orchard looking for yen. Then all three locations are covered in looking for ciri. By the time I was in skelliga I was pretty bored. Then yen showed up and I was back in the game. I like how ciri's journey upto the isle tied up in the end. About 60% of the game was finding ciri. It wasn't bad but a wee bit stretched. That and the combat is not its strong suite. The expansions were awesome. Pulling a heist in a fantasy game was thrilling. And blood and wine expansion was one of the best dlc's I ever played. All in all, 8.8/10 for me.

I'll def play the updated version again provided it has enough improvements. Any idea if its free?

Ya, in 2014. 7 years ago. It's like I said, back then this was a 10. Today its not as good because the current and more recent games are better.

Imo, TLOU wasn't a 10/10 game even in the year it launched in 2013.

I honestly agree with this. Back then the story, visuals and everything was awesome but the gunplay is seriously screwed. Even uncharted 1 which was release before TLOU had better gunplay. The story in UC2 was actually better.

The game def has pacing issues but I can sort of understand what the Dev's were going for with it. The game basically starts as a survival game and slowly becomes an full action title. It's also one of the few games where the shooting mechanics are directly tied with your characters skill points and levelling up  so as you start the game your character is absolutely terrible at gunplay but once you upgrade his skills even basic stuff like aiming becomes much much better.

The first 2 camps and their leaders/ characters are just filler and add absolutely nothing to the story. The game actually starts once you reach the third camp which takes around 4-5 hrs I guess. it's also a huge game, if I'm not wrong it's sony biggest AAA game (Lenght) by their smallest and inexperienced team so they bit a lot more than they could chew for eg the game also had a choice and consequence system which was removed just months before release.

Nailed it. Perfect description. Altho HZD was also just as big. So was FF7 R.

Idk man. If a game is so boring that you feel like dropping it then you should be able to drop it and say it's a bad game without forcing yourself to play more.

Its the games job to keep you engaged and if a game is failing at that then it's a mark against the game.

The initial parts of days gone are only boring because of the starting story. You reach lost lake pretty soon and the gameplay and stuff is still fun upto that point. If u feel enough like dropping it, u drop it. But 3 hours of days gone is less than 10%. Its like 3 - 4 %
It's a big game so 3 hours feels like a lot but u really cant ditch a game after 3 - 4% and say its bad. You should play at least 30 - 40% and then decide its bad. It's correct to feel free to drop it and decide that u dont like it but imo its wrong to say its bad because u haven't actually played it. This especially applies to days gone because after the first 2 - 3 hours its soooo good. Story is absolutely awesome.

Fellas, just installed this game. Just to check real quickly, is there anything that is missable post the completion of the main storyline? Side activities? Collectibles etc?

Yes. After u get that little box telling u that u finished the game, there is a series of main missions and stuff which ends in a secret ending. There are many historical location, hordes, collectibles nests etc. You probably will have done the hordes nero checkpoints and nests. Whats left will mostly be historical locations, collectibles, ripper sermons and regional herbology.
The historical locations are marked on the map and the hordes are also marked after you return to lost lake. There are a lot of side jobs. To check weather u completed them, open option and the last option should be reset jobs. If u dont see it or if it is greyed out that means u have jobs left to do. Bounties, extractions etc. The rest of the collectibles are to be found on ur own.

days gone is poo poo Ģặmể when compared to TLOU which is once in a generation type Ģặme…

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.. but only tiny number of people will share your opinion..

I severely doubt you completed the game and if u didn't u have no right to call it bad. U can't say if a game is good or bad if u haven't played at least half of it.

Once again I don't judge a game for 1 better thing if everything else is inferior. That's the scene with days gone vs TLOU. I play a popular game with awesome characters which I like and eh but playable gameplay and combat. Its not good but its not as bad as to make me want to ditch the game. Its just middling accompanied with a pretty decent story. That's TLOU for me.

Days gone has everything TLOU doesn't except days gone is lacking in characters. That means days gone is even technically better. Back in the day TLOU was the best they had because that's as good as combat, gameplay, visuals... used to get.

TLOU2 makes up for everything wrong with TLOU in this gen. Dunno about story tho. Don't tell me. I'm actually excited abt TLOU2. TLOU excitement died when I played it because of... uk. Gameplay mechanics are on par in TLOU2 against days gone. Still far as combat goes, days gone will be better as a zombie and combat game against TLOU2. Story will be decision maker for me and even otherwise TLOU2 will be a better game and days gone will be a better zombie game for me, most probably.

And I'm sure a hell of a lot more than a "tiny number of ppl" will share the same opinion.

days gone better than TLOU ?
please return your PS5… you are not worthy?

Heyy. TLOU2 is definitely better than days gone from what I know so far and that I'm saying even tho I haven't even played TLOU2 yet. Days gone is a wayy better zombie game tho. TLOU (playing now) has decent story and awesome characters. As for other elements its just not that gr8. The gameplay and stuff is just ur typical stuff. Days gone shines in gameplay, had pretty good characters and awesome story. By that logic, TLOU has only the characters that were better than days gone. It is utterly wrong to say that TLOU is better when everything in days gone except characters is better. TLOU2 from what I have seen has equally good gameplay mechanics and I don't know abt story in TLOU2. Days gone will still be more fun because eventho its a proper awesome serious story, the zombies mechanics and hordes make gameplay more enjoyable. The story is the thing to decide which was better. From what ik TLOU2 story is better so I say without playing TLOU2 is a better game. Days gone better zombie game.

I would rather replay days gone over tlou 2 even though tlou 2 is a far superior game is all respcts.

That helps my point. Altho days gone is on par with gameplay mechanics and way better zombie game. Dunno abt story tho.

I'd agree but I've started and gave up on it a few times so I'm not sure if I'm being fair. But if a game doesn't grab you in the first couple hours, should you bother?

Depends man. Usually a game just can't pick up that much. Days gone after like 4 hours tops improves so much u won't put it down. With days gone u should definitely bother. The gameplay and stuff is still awesome even in the beginning but the story gets a bit tedious.

There is a comparison between this game and TLOU2 default_shock3.gif

This abomination on Sony exclusives! How come this shitty game is even compared to any other game let alone this generation's awesome exclusives. One of the worst games this generation and arguably the worst ps4 exclusive ever.

Yes there is a comparison. A lot of them actually. U can't have finished days gone if u came out with that review. Days gone was awesome. The only issues was a slight pacing problem in the first 3-4 hours and slightly inferior characters. TLOU2 is better than days gone. TLOU1 is not. Nobody can honestly name a 3rd problem with this game with real meaning since the glitches are out. And its not like the gameplay and story is like a its not flawed but its not good. Its awesome. TLOU2 is a better game but days gone is a more fun game. Also no amount of perfection in horse riding in a game can beat the bike in days gone. The world is beautiful, story is awesome, gameplay is brilliant. This is the most underrated game of the generation.

Rarely I see gamers who put Days Gone above TLOU2. I don't want to play TLOU2 in spite of it's success is because I don't want drag myself through an emotional story.

You will get days gone over TLOU2 logic from ppl who say if u care only about the story then read a book. I personally agree but wouldn't put days gone above TLOU2 most probably. I would in a zombie game list cause while its not a better game, it'd a more fun and better zombie game. Story will be better ig but days gone story gets a 9.5/10 for me.j Its almost definitely gonna be above TLOU. I rank games based on everything. I don't put a game that has perfect story and complete BS for everything else in top position like some others. TLOU mechanics weren't BS but 100% not better than days gone. That's why days gone is better than TLOU inspite of TLOU characters being better, cause nothing else is better in TLOU is. Has slight better stealth but there are hordes in days gone and stealth is stupid after placing traps against a horde. The only slightly inferior mechanics in days gone compared to tlou was the slight initial pacing issue which frankly even tlou has but that's only like for 1 hour instead of 3 - 4 and the little inferior characters.

  11. I installed Bloodborne from the PS+ collection 2 days ago. I just started it up today for testing. Man the game really puts an effort to screw u. I didn't know how the menus or the dream works so I received the weapons in dream after dying the first time to the werewolf. I didn't know I actually got the weapons cause I received them in a dream. Then I noticed them later after killing the first humanoid guy (wolf and guy fist kill.) I saw them. Clicked and selected use but it just gave me a glitch sound. So I just assumed that I needed to level up or something and I played on with fists. I killed the wolf in 5 tries and the human in 3. I killed a few more ahead in another 3 - 4 tries reached the bonfire where there are like 12 of them. There I obviously tried and died. After the first death at the bonfire I just opened the items menu cause I had some molotovs n stuff and just wanted to see what was what. I went through and  saw only my outfit so went to inventory from there and here I saw the weapons which as mention, I could not equip so I close the menu and move on. Fist killed another enemy or 2. Picked up another item and while going to inventory I accidentally (thank god) click on the weapons tab and select the Axe. Figured 2 weapons per hand and equip pistol in slot 3. I came out and no weapons (all games display weapons on the back). Fist killed another. I then accidentally click the right DPad button cause that's how it is in GoW (playing now) and finally had weapons. They should at least put an explanation for the menus and put the controls in the settings.....................

  12. GoW has no doubt, amazing combat. Playing it now. Loving it. But if u were to ask me for the best combat I would say horizon zero dawn without a second thought. It beats FF7 R combat also which was awesome (almost on par with GoW) but in FF7 R it didn't feel smooth because of all the menu's u have to use midcombat even with the shortcuts. The combat was awesome but doesn't compare. Yes, I agree HZD has only 2 mellee moves but the fact that there are 2 spears that is hers and the sylens lance, and like 10 diff types of ranged weapons, I would say its not a hack n slash close quarters but a ranged weapons type game.

  13. I'm playing TLOU P1 currently for the first time. I just don't see what the hype is about. I'm about midway through the game and so far its wildly unimpressive. The characters are 10/10 but the story so far is eh and the combat is fully stealth based which wouldn't be so bad but the mechanics are just OK. Even on ps5 and movement just feels older than even uncharted 1 and the response time is very low. Enemy scarcity usually adds a nice survival feel but they have overdone it so much that using guns is practically useless. The mellee combat is very basic. Just spam square. Little more guns action would be nice. I personally so far liked any uncharted game and definitely days gone more than TLOU. There were 2 emotional moments one of which was good and the other was eh cause they killed the character like 15 mins after introduction of the character. So far 8/10 seeing how old it is. The only way it will increase is if the story takes a perfect turn or sufficient combat is introduced. Even then I would give it 8.5 - 9/10 tops. Days gone gets a 9.5

It was way more enjoyable but at the same time had a serious story. I liked the characters too unlike many others.

Based on what I have seen of TLOU P2. I would say days gone offers equally good visuals, better combat, more enjoyable gameplay, but slightly inferior story and fairly inferior characters.

All in all, play days gone and TLOU P2 and to play TLOU P2 u have to play TLOU P1 so play all 3. I played days gone twice. Playing TLOU P1 now. Can't wait to finish and start the real deal that is TLOU P2. This is oc my opinion. Me knowing little of TLOU series, pay no mind if I'm wildly wrong which I could be.

Arrived early morning today. Set it up in vertical position and inserted the disc which wasn't recognised by Ps5 and wouldn't even eject.  Thought to myslef ke L lag gaye and then I wondered if I entered it in the wrong position( which I did).  Googled it and there is an official guide for it by sony on how to eject it manually which makes me believe a lot a people are doing the same mistake because it exactly opposite of what you do on PS4 or any other device tbh.

Anxious few moments later, MM is installing.

Also, haptics on controller are amazing and used along with the controllers speaker is a legit game-changer for non competitive games.

Congratulations. I got mine too yesterday. I didn't encounter the disc issue. And now that I think of it, I not only kept it horizontally and also havent inserted a disc yet. I remember seeing a lot of ppl making the same mistske over the net. Far as ik, u should not have any problems whatsoever. Enjoy. Haptics and adaptive triggers are truely amazing.

  15. When it comes to days gone vs the last of us, its simple really. Combat in days gone is better, stealth in tlou series is slightly better. Story in tlou series is better (Days gone story is awesome but tlou story is better by a small margin) Characters and chatacter development in tlou series are better (days gone characters and character development also gr8 but in tlou its better by a fair margin)

Days gone has the best zombie mechanism I have ever seen and in that regard tlou is meh in comparison

The only problems with days gone was the initial 3 - 5 hours pacing (still very enjoyable but story parts were a little tedious) and deacon as a character was apparently "blunt." I personally had no problem, liked the character even but thought it might be worth a mention...........

    By all this -

TLOU is a better game (story and stealth is slightly better and characters are much better so slightly better initial pacing.)

Days Gone is a wayyy better zombie game with awesome combat and good stealth and characters. All in all everyone should definitely experience both games.

The climbing is not broken but it's scripted, handholding stuff like uncharted. The sequel has free climbing like AC or infamous.

Well yea its scripted but only into some storyline areas. Well OK yea, not broken, thats not the right word.

Yea I know abt the free climbing. Read it somewhere accidentally. Hope its not as buggy as ac odyssey climbing. Kas just randomly stops climbing at random.

    19 minutes ago, dante77 said:

Climbing sucks. Thankfully we don't get to climb too much.

Not sure about the machine jumping thing.

My biggest gripe with this game was its lackluster RPG mechanics and customization.

Let's just forget Melee in this game even exist lol.

The jump is only for snapmaws and requires tedious timing. The snapmaw is almost flat on ground so the jump height is enough to dodge if well timed. The ropecaster is a fascinating feature. Try it once. Single rope not full tie down and move away. Mellee is very basic use. The heavy attack works out well and overriding. That's as far as its effective use goes. In the second game u can climb anything so to escape the corner spot or if u r backup against a wall, u can just turn and climb up.

  17. 24 minutes ago, dylanjosh said:

    I do have some criticisms:

The climbing feels very restrictive in that you can only climb on developer-assigned-spots. I was playing Assassin's Creed before this and it feels very jarring when I see ledges that Aloy should have no problem holding on to but she won't because it's not marked as a climbable spot.

Machines will often jump on you, which is fine with smaller machines which you can dodge or run from. But bigger machines like the crocodiles, sawtooth, ravager can end stun locking you. Especially if you've been backed into a wall. Is there any strategy to counter this when it happens? This happened in a cauldron and it was frustrating.

My rideable machine keeps getting reset when I fast travel or start a quest.

The climbing mechanic is broken. No arguments on that. As for the machine jumping. It takes a bit of time and practice to figure that out. For most machines - shoot the leg. They will trip and fall. Either use the jump slow time or the concentration for that. If u hit the leg. It will trip and fall. If a machine is on low health it will hold one leg up in the air and support on 3 legs. Make sure to hit a supporting leg. If its a snapmaw ur only option are dodge. If that doesn't work then depending on how far off it jumps from, a simple jump could work. If u have the time lay a tripwire in front the the snapmaw before it jumps. If all else fails just hit it with 1 topecaster wire while close to it. It will not fully pin it. It can move a little here and there and do ranged attacks but it can't jump at you for some time when it will try to break loose the rope. Try it. Go close. 1 rope. Move far away. It will do ranged attacks and maybe tailswipe if u go close but it can't move from its place or jump at u for sometime. Ur last option is to put a bomb from ur sling. It will give u a 2 - 3 second stagger period but not mid jump.

    I would disagree with that

it is quite unique i’ll give it that but it gets tad bit boring doing same stealth +bow & arrow + traps confrontations over & over.

GoW is the king when it comes to actual combat this Gen.

Horizon is one of a kind for sure though & I hope they add more melee combat mechanics to make it more varied.

Could use a mellee or 2 more and setting traps is like a 30 sec job because of tripwire and proximity bomb placement range. The combat is near perfect with the exception of 2 - 3 more mellee move requirement. How is basic hack and slash combos by that logic
