  1. So, after updating, the build number is the same as the rest, so I'm not sure what caused the issue in the official roll-out. RP1A.200720.009
  2. So, the workaround is to enroll for the beta, and you get the download notification right away. I'm doing that now. 1.40 GB update. Just hoping it doesn't brick my phone or something. This is weird, though. Can't think of any reason why the normal update wouldn't be available just in India. Even the Google OTA images page had downloads which day "Except for IN."
  3. A part of the article I really liked: Xbox isn't playing the game. It's setting its own rules and breaking from the well-established conventions. Microsoft is threatening to launch a console without any real exclusives of any kind, it's telling its audience it can just play on PC or xCloud, and its main focus is a subscription service that you can already access on the current console and even PC. Compare that to PlayStation 5, with its simple positioning, impressive software launch line-up, and huge PS4 player base to upgrade, and the results seem inevitable. I refer you back to our 'console war is over' article, where I predicted Xbox will continue to dominate in subscriptions, Nintendo will keep growing its character IP (and the latest Super Mario Direct only furthered that), but it is PS5 that will likely be the next generation's best-selling platform. Everybody wins. I think there's a high chance his 'prediction' might happen. MS (it seems) just wants you to be in their ecosystem, regardless of the device you have.
  4. This. But then, MS India had to mess up the XSS Indian pricing. ? Pretty sure even Sony India will have a similar conversion rate (or whatever) and mess up the Indian pricing. ?
  5. Placeholder price, maybe? ? That is a lot, though. A little more money can get you the Series S. It's nuts.
  6. Uh oh... In Apple's September 8 court filing, the tech company is now seeking damages from Epic over breach of contract. "Although Epic portrays itself as a modern corporate Robin Hood, in reality it is a multi-billion dollar enterprise that simply wants to pay nothing for the tremendous value it derives from the App store," the company stated in the filing. In addition to wanting Epic's external payment system permanently stopped and removed, Apple wants all earnings and profits generated as a result of Epic making it possible for players to bypass the App store's payment system. Apple also claimed that it has been "injured in its business and has suffered damages, loss of goodwill and product image, and other harm."
  7. Nintendo, their marketing and timing are in a class of their own. Sales rank of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition have moved up 1,543% on Amazon US.
  8. Sorta what I was talking about: https://venturebeat.com/2020/09/08/xbox-series-s-is-the-right-next-gen-console-for-2020/
  9. Checked for an update just now and it's still not here on the Pixel 2 XL. BTW, it seems it's a pretty decent update with some really good QoL changes/additions. I guess, it should be here in a day or so.
  10. So, here's a thought. If someone has a 1080p/1440p TV/monitor already, with a good internet connection, wouldn't it make sense to just get the Series S instead of the Series X? The only clear advantages that the Series X has over the Series S is an internal 1TB storage and support for next-gen only games at 4K 120FPS. But is that so beneficial that it justifies the higher price-tag? I mean just how much of a visible difference will 4K have over 1440p?
  11. It's pretty vague at this point. I know holiday shopping in the US starts soon, like around mid-to-end of October, I think. So, maybe a US release around that time and for the rest of the world, it'll be December 2020, I guess.
  12. I had played a lot of THPS4 on my PSOne. Then, a few of the PS2 games, including Project 8 (I think it was called). Don't think I played any TH game on the PS3. Had got THPS5 on my PS4 and that game is so buggy, it's not even funny. The gameplay is so bad, I couldn't even finish any level apart from the first one. Basically, the series has been on a decline since the glory days of the early PSOne games. So, I'm glad they went back and remastered the games that put them on the map to begin with. Hope they build on this properly for future games.
  13. Doubling down on Backwards Compatibility, I guess. Well, who'll blame them. Jokes apart, it's really cool, though.
  14. That was one candid interview by Messi. I hope it doesn't lead to the club charging him for (kinda) bad-mouthing the president, the management (to a certain extent), and whatnot.
  15. A very interesting read: https://www.cnet.com/features/the-secret-avengers-video-game-the-world-never-got-to-play/ TLDR version: THQ Brisbane was working on an Avenger's game from 2009 and they were targetting a release in 2011 to match the release of the first Avenger's movie. - First-person co-op Avenger's game. - Thor, Captain America, Hulk, and Iron-Man would be the playable characters. - Marvel weren't ready to reduce the licensing fees. - The developers thought Captain America was kinda boring and wanted to given him a gun since his shield was just like a frisbee and couldn't do much. Marvel refused. - In the final six months before release, due to multiple factors, THQ decided to cancel the game and shut down the entire studio, laying off the entire staff in the process.
  16. I hope so. Already did. For most of the reasons @adity has mentioned, I just can't seem to play it at a stretch. The inventory management seems daunting for someone like me who has grown-up playing on consoles where the inventory is generally not so complex. Too much going on at any given point of time. Doesn't mean I've given up on the game. I'll just take my sweet time with it. The quests are second-to-none, though. Love them.
  17. The free-upgrade news is awesome. Time to forget I even started playing the base PS4 version and will play it directly on the PS5, whenever I end up buying it. But, I hope they allow owners of just the base game for a free upgrade, too. The image implies that owners of The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will get the next-gen upgrade.
