That's kinda the point of the game. It doesn't forces you to level up. You can just drive around the map, go off-roading or do whatever you want.

Should I just play the random races coming up in the world map? why are the seasons so short? like 5 days only

 

Start playing the races around the map but it's the weekly Festival playlist that you should be looking to complete. It might look intimidating at first glance but can be easily finished. Forza is fun when played online, so try to participate in Horizon Arcade events or try online racing.
