bubble, i asked you whether you made the files visible or not before using xopy? otherwise just /H switch to xcopy if you want to copy hidden files.
-
bubble, did you make the files unhidden?
-
^^ probably you've already checked but maybe the files\folders are hidden. Did you check you using "di /ah" or just use attrib command..
edit: oops, ghb beat me to it..

Well! I'm not aware about simulated multi-touch but from what i recall are from the following two links
http://gizmodo.com/5139087/multitouch-impl...id-unofficially
I'm aware about Windows Mobile 6.5 which isn't doing anything great but WinMo 7 is suppose to be built from scratch so i'm assuming a lot of changes.
http://phonearea.net/microsoft-building-wi...-7-from-scratch
also i find this article a bit funny but it could be true :
http://venturebeat.com/2009/02/09/apple-as...oogle-complied/
Sorry, I just confirmed again from some sources. G1 does have hardware support but HTC diamond doesn't.
Baaki there is a lot of code churn involved in WM7 indeed (won't go so far as to say written from scratch) but so far it looks pretty ugly and its an achievement if it even boots up..

So much for the "paapi pet ko khilane ke liye 2-3 line code likh leta hu"

The Cupcake update adds some good features but the prob with onscreen keyboard is the lack of multi-touch itself. It would be nice if devices started having it then it will be a good competition for Apple. Microsoft needs to hurry up and release the delayed Windows Mobile 7 but still I look at other devices like Palm Pre and then Apple iPhone, even though Pre will be a good competition for iPhone still there are things which Apple has done it right whether its the design, interface or the software.Edit - G1 Android is already multi-touch enabled but Google needs to implement it in Android although there are apps atleast *some* taking advantage of it. Its the same thing with HTC Diamond being multi-touch enabled but no support from the OS.
WM7 is going to be horribly delayed..even more than what their marketing team would like you to think about..And anyways, there is nothing very good about WM7 till now..I will say that most people will be disappointed when they see it.6.5 which will be out soon also bring just surface deep changes only.
G1\Diamond are not multi-touch enabled. The apps that are giving you that multi-touch option, they are using something I can only call "simulated multi-touch". The support needs to come from the hardware first before the OS can give it, and these phone do not have that hardware.
And yeah, iPhone has the best interface (though I don't like it very much) but they surely dont have the best hardware\software, especially in the area what a phone is meant to do (calls\data). It has pretty bad performance (I have a 90 page official report about it

Android is gonna suck. The prob is all these phones are not multi-touch enabled. Sure android is gonna be better than Symbian & WinMo at certain level but clearly a gen back. Check out Sammy's new Android based phone, the reviewer has himself said how bad the onscreen k/b is and doesn't work well with the finger.
Well, the android that is out currently is kind of "alpha". The newer versions that I have access to are quite good. And onscreen k/b is actually just a proof of concept as of now. It is getting better. Anyways, with hw kb you wont need it.
PS: Don't be too sure about multi-touch not coming to Android. It'll be there for sure quite soon. And yours truly will have some role to play in it

I personally hate Nokias after using Blackberry and Iphone. Nokia releases the same damn thing again n again n again. I'm pretty sure the N97 will be another big dud too. WinMo cannot comment but whatever I used of it I didnt like
Thanks for the replies DS.
4. Can we write our own apps and put on iPhone without jail breaking and without going through the app store? - I guess, if u know Unix and the Apple OS well you can port your own apps to the Iphone like how people put cracked apps on the Iphone. U being a software guy, will be able to do itBut can we do it without jail-breaking? I mean I used to write a lot of programs\scripts for my WM phones to scratch a lot of my small itches. Is that possible with iPhone without jail-breaking?
Well this is subjective. No doubt qwerty keypad is good, but touchscreen is something else. IMO, I feel the Blackberry Bold is a good buy if u ain getting an Iphone. That phone is simply amazing and is damn powerful. My brother in law bought it recently and its just too good. Infact an offer is going on eBay India with close to 5k bucks off.I meant phones which have qwerty keypads _and_ a touchscreen as well. So you get the best of both worlds. (I have a pretty old phone that has this combo, the first of this kind, HTC Wizard
)BTW, another "issue" (which might be a non-issue for many people) is that iPhone has a capacitive touch screen. While that means easy usage with fingers, it also means that you can't use a stylus, and any precise movements are not possible. So, if you like to take handwritten notes, etc then that you can't do with iPhone. But I guess everyone is moving towards capacitive now. So, after some time this is not going to be an option at all.

if u really wanna buy then i would suggest go for the iphone as its much cheaper compared to omnia i guess and has better review..iphone till date is the best phone out there..good msging good media experience..my iphone has fallen about 30 times even on road and from my balcony ..but when it fell 32nd time the screen broke..the screen got cracked from the top but still works only there that crack..so falling 32nd time seems strong to me ..it just looks delicte..scope for future improvement is definately there in the iphone as uc an see from the numebr of updates coming..
sound quality is not good during calls
thats what i feel..
but I WOULD SUGGEST WAIT TILL JUNE N97 WOULD COME OUT..
You dropped your phone 32 times
What do you do with it? Play volleyball\volleyphone or something?
What features are missing in iPhone ? The new software update 3.0 is giving all the new feature also new iPhone will be released or announced in first week of June. Wait for it.I have been an iPhone naysayer till now but with the 3.0 update it seems to iron out a lot of my qualms. The only concerns that remain:
1. No removable battery
2. Will it finally support multi-tasking?
3. Third party servicing if needed?
4. Can we write our own apps and put on iPhone without jail breaking and without going through the app store?
Edit: And yeah, you can never get a better msging feeling with iPhone as compared to any other phone which has a hardware qwerty keyboard.. Look for such options as well. I think G2 is about to come out (Android based) and some Raphael successors from HTC (WM based) will be released soon as well..

thr is gonna be one more season of lost after the current season, yes? in that case will get the whole lot on blu-ray n watch the whole thing once n for all.... just can't keep up with timings on a weekly basis

yes there will be another season..i think they said last year or the year before in some interview that lost will finally come to an end in 2010..

Finished first 4 episodes of Heroes : Season 1. This show really seems to be very good. Can't wait to see how things ... unfold!Completed Season 1 last night. Was pretty awesome,
Was expecting more from the last episode though. Was pretty weak, I guess my bar of awesomeness has been set quite high after watching the end of Dexter season 1
Will start season 2 as soon as I get some free space on my HDD.
Heroes went from "wow" in first season to "hmmm" in the 2nd season to "meh" in most episodes of current season..watch it at your own risk

Lost is still going great, though current season is a bit too slow and not that fun..but ben always keeps things interesting

Just saw an ad about South Park premiering on VH1 this may 11th
. But I'm quite sceptical how much time it'll be able to live in a country where even Shin Chan was taken off by the moral police..Your comments? (and your reactions to this cool development

^^, just see what is the ip of ur ps3 (go to settings->network->network information or something)
run "cmd" in your laptop and type "ping <ipaddress>", press enter..
-
Yes of course as i said earlier i can use my laptop as a media server when i connect both with ethernt cable( to the router).....
......its just that when i connect my Laptop via wi-fi that i can not!!
just out of curiosity has any one connected done this ....i.e. connect two devices one of which is wired to the router(netgear) and another that is wirelessly connected .......i am getting a feeling the problem is netgear router!!
Yup, if you are indeed getting both IPs in the same subnet, then your netgear router is the culprit. They have had many such issues in the past of problems between wired and wireless networks. Have you checked out negear website and forums for known issues/firmware updates/workarounds?
BTW, have you tried pinging your PS3's IP address from your laptop? Does that work? And why are you using a wired connection for the PS3 anyways?

Okay , today i had some probs. with my net so called up my ISP . they told me to change my ppoe password and username. He also gave me the ip address and all that. ^^ Opening the ports on D-link should be enough or better still, just enable UPnP on both.
-
third party Divx also must be available for Winmo!

5. battery life is less than Xperia (thats what the guy told me.. im still not sure of it)
Yes, extensive 3rd party codec support is available for WM. Just try using TCPMP (free) or Core Player (paid). They will play most formats.
About the battery, I havent compared the phones myself but I'd give the benefit of doubt to Xperia as HTC is a much bigger player with Qualcomm's 7k series of processors and have been using them for quite some time now so they have a better idea of how to acheive the max out of it. But yeah, Xperia has much better resolution which would suck more juice out of the battery.
BTW, if you are looking for long battery life, stay tuned because soon (as in late 2009-early 2010) you will see some new chips that take the talk-time game to a whole new level, with battery life with even 3G surpassing that of current gen's 2G phones itself

So I just migrated from 256 to a 512 plan on MTNL. Only problem is the bastards have actually forgotten to increase my speed. Did anyone go through this? How long will it take them?
In Delhi BTW.
This is quite common place with MTNL/BSNL. There is no set limit on the time. One day they will just wake up and change your plan in reality. It might happen in 2-3 days or maybe 2-3 months. Just follow up with them every week (or every day if you can afford to go to their office so frequently)
