  1. Good News : Had awesome fun in Thailand for 8 days.

Bad News: Found out that mouse has chewed off the wiring in my car and the ABS has stopped working. The car is brand new :(

Another mouse managed to reach 10th floor and chewed off my rooms AC wiring as well as DTH cable

Worst news: Misplaced my Ray ban glasses, took me a long time to search for that series but i lost it in matter of few minutes :(

Mice to sunil.. tera mujhse hai pehle ka nata koi... :P

  2. No, there is a GSM version out as well. It should be under Rs. 30k. You do sacrifice future updates, and it doesn't have the latest software, but it's the phone to get if your highest priority is battery life.

or just get the solar charger app with any other android phone

  3. ^^ yeah, they are legal but might not be profitable (couldn't find any numbers apart from a vague guesstimate from 3 years back). But I see that they are trying to get tie ups with companies like facebook, google, htc, etc apart from ads for their revenue stream. They are in pretty early stages but I think that ultimately they will have to make it a freemium model to thrive.

  4. If u add strangers to ur circles, then the live feeds will be from unknown people only. <_<

It can also happen if ur friends "Share" stuffs from other people whom u are not acquainted with. Like Retweet on twitter.

or if you see the "What's hot" stream which is more like the public timeline on twitter but automatically curated for most shared/liked stuff.

Google should've kept Circles and Gtalk seperate. Gtalk is a very personal list of friends. Friends in Circles != gtalk friends. They could've made a seperate Google + Chat with only people in your G+ account like facebook. That's fine. U know there is a boundary.

But then Google nowadays is so hell bent on shoving Google+ down our throats, i'm hardly surprised by all this. So far, thank god atleast search is fine.

What are you talking about? I don't see any people from my circles in my gtalk list. I see them only in my chat list within google+ (which also includes my regular gtalk contacts for convenience). So, gtalk is included in google+ but not vice versa.

  5. Well, under Settings I only have Display Options, which gives me two settings - "Sort list by" and "View Contacts Names as".

Edit : And it is now People app, not Contacts.

^^ are you using galaxy S2 ? I'm talking only about galaxy S2....I'll post a pic once I'm at home....

That's probably because Samsung made a watered down ICS port for S2 so they are keeping quite a bit of things from GB.

For ICS, I found at some of my work devices that if you open people app then all contacts are there and if you open through dialer then only those with phone numbers are shown. So, probably thats why they made the omission of this option.

  6. ^^ thanks, will try them.

Before I upgraded to ICS, I had my contacts sync'd from my contacts list on gtalk and facebook. That is ok. But now, it has added every other person to whom I contacted in my lifetime using gmail  I've all those headhunters and customer care contacts in my phone now !

Probably Samsung chose bad defaults for groups to display. The addition of contacts whom you talked to using gmail is a gmail feature, not android. Anyways, another option that I generally tick is to show only contacts with phone numbers.

  7. Alright, with ICS, my contacts is even more cluttered than ever. It even added all those persons to whom I've sent an email over the whole time I've had a gmail account. My contacts currently has all users from facebook+ gmail + google+ and skype ! So, one user is listed four, five times.... :furious:

Can someone please tell me how to resolve this mess :( I cannot manually remove so many ppl, is there an easy way to organize contacts ? Any app ?

That's not an ICS thing. It has been there since beginning of Android. This has more to do with gmail than Android. You can select on your phone which "group" of contacts should it show. Uncheck "Other Contacts" and you should be fine.

    For duplicate contacts:

    1. If they are from different sources like fb, gmail, g+ etc then you can deselect the source which you don't want. In GB though, it used to merge the contacts for me automatically (i.e. if contact appears in my gmail as well as FB, it shows single entry only). Not sure about ICS.

    2. If the duplicates are within gmail, then go to gmail on web, go to contacts and then click on find duplicates and merge.

  8. Unlikely that there will be any android phone as good as ip5 when it launches. Apple has got that.

I'm hoping that it will get a quad core processor, a 4' screen with minimal change in form factor from 4s. Throw in proprietary external SD support for multimedia and customizable UI, and its all good.

    Not happening.

  9. MUST WATCH! Spare 30 minutes and watch it.
