    :scratchchin:

it's not that bad as compared to previous situation. Now the dev doesnt need to host the assets and figure out ways to download them. On server side they do the same thing as for newer devices and for client side just package a google lib that does the rest.

  2. <_< nahi, shop hai shantz bhai

    im not dumb.

here is the example. dont go on design, u will get more designs in this range

    0.950(gold weight)*2810(present gold rate)=2669+500(for gems and making)= 3169/-

just around the range what he spent <_<

  3. Thanks. Can't rep as on tapatalk. So it seems instead of improving on dual core architecture, they jumped the gun and went to quads. So every review will now contain core efficiency benchmarks and what not. Also according to you, which is the best overall dual core mobile chipset?

I'm biased  but hey Anandtech concurs with me when I say Krait based 8960/S4 :P

Edit: BTW, abt nvidia moving to quad instead of betting on a better arch, they had to do it otherwise they would be nowhere because they don't design much on top of ARM cores and use them pretty much in situ and A15 is not coming out for sometime. and even with that, they were pathetically delayed (T3 phones were promised by them to come out much before christmas last year for actual buying and we have now started to just hear them being announced now. T3 tablets were supposed to be available in abundance by august last year and all we have till now is one)

  4. Seriously dude tell me. Some examples will help. I want to know advantages of dual core androids over single core. Battery life? Multitasking?

    both.

for dual core, android is able to take advantage of it like a PC..

    e.g.:

Garbage collector is now concurrent and can be scheduled on a separate core so it wont cause your apps to stutter every now and then when GC runs

MM apps can take advantage of running separate threads on separate cores

different apps can be scheduled on different cores

(Of course, all these decisions are taken by the OS at runtime on the basis of whether it will be faster or easier on battery to run a single core at a higher clock compared to running 2 cores at lower clocks)

These are top level generic examples. But the problem now is that this does not scale well yet on >2 cores. OS can only do so much and requires apps to use multiple cores efficiently to take advantage of greater than 2 cores. Hence, the companies who were really trying to get an advanced processor out instead of getting brownie points in showing more cores went for an architectural jump rather than scaling in hardware to more cores when the software can't take advantage of it.

  5. ^S3 is rumored to have Exynos 5. Pretty sure its worth waiting for rather than spending money on Note.

Nopes. It will have 4412. Quad core exynos.

Nothing. Even dual cores are doing nothing currently, only increasing e-penis of benchmark junkies. Still, its better to have latest piece of hardware by being patient.

You are sadly mistaken. I guess you don't read past the usual sensational blogs.

  6. lol what will quad cores do in next 1 year, just marketing gimmick. Note is still one of the best phones to get, ya but if you can wait just get it as it is latest technology.

BTW i think note is only one of the few phones whose price went up with time, 32300, 32500 and sells for 32700 now on flipkart.

exactly.. quad core is a marketing gimmick to lure in unsuspecting public when most of that power is not going to be utilized for quite some time and it lacks on other areas (gfx, memory channels, etc) which actually make it perform less than optimal. Except Nvidia, most others chose the better way (with samsung opting to go both ways with their cash and strength) but lot of OEMs know that people just want to hear, mai fone has them QUAD cores and so are flocking to t3 but you can already see that most of them are also bringing phones with S4 as well because they know that marketing can only last so long

  7. Wait for S3, HTC One X. Note is not worth it now as the quad cores are announced.

Not too sure about that. Exynos is still a good competitor to Tegra 3 in various aspects. If one likes note, there is no reason to wait for quad cores for it. If it is an S4 that you are waiting for, then its a different ball game.

  8. Ah yeah i remember it in the contextual menu. Is it possible to select a default folder where all these images go? I have a folder in dropbox where I store random cool images i find on the internet (yea the memes n sh*t :P)...from what i understand, if i select share to dropbox, it'll just upload to the parent directory in dropbox right?

W.r.t HTC, the 25GB deal is quite a good. I wonder what happens after 2 years though

if u select share to dropbox, it will ask you to select where you want to store it. the auto-uploads of photos/videos go to "Camera Uploads" folder.

After 2 years, you either pay up (I think should be around 50$ yearly) or you lose the space after some grace period.

  9. Is there a way to link a Dropbox Folder instead of individual files?

I wana link a particular folder to a site and allow others to view it, without registering in Dropbox. Like a file hosting site. Possible?

create a folder in public folder Right click on any folder and get its sharing link

  10. DB can be hacked?

Everything can be hacked. I wouldn't leave it to a vulnerability becoming known in future and then taking action reactively. More over, DB staff does have access to your account as well anyawys. I keep all sensitive things backed up on DB only after encryption.

  11. I am going to stick to dropbox. The ease of using dropbox makes it a winner. Let's face it - i am not even remotely going to use more than a gig. For heavier stuff, I use GMAIL for storage. I use dropbox for keeping my important docs (photocopies of licence, passport, bank passbook etc) which i may need anywhere, and some notes I take and want to work on my phone.

box may be good for corporations, but I am not my own company yet.

I sincerely hope that you are encrypting all this before storing in DB.

  12. Okay, the new HTC One series is offering 25GB of free dropbox storage. Also Dropbox is integrated into their Sense UI. So i guess it'll be easily to upload stuff to dropbox directly :wOOtjumpy: That is one reason alone to buy it. Dropbox is the best cross platform online storage.

It's pretty easy to upload to dropbox already. They provide auto uplods of photos/videos and anything else can be uploaded from the share menu directly. Also if you need still more custom auto-uploads, we can easily use tasker or dropsync.

  13. I know it is, the reason I was asking was because Shantz was kinda opposed to that ownhere guy's apk before and I wanted to know if navigation has been enabled officially in India.

yeah, i have been using the old brut.all mod so far for navigation. might switch to the new one now that lots of ppl on xda have used it.

  14. Thanks for the input guys! Gonna get the mapmyindia sygic!

Just one thought. It'd be much wiser to get a cheap 98 rs for 2 gb edge connection and use google navigation. Will cost much less than sygic as well and you can use edge for other uses too.

  15. I used sygic for some time in US a few weeks ago. It was pathetic to say the least. No where near google navigation at all and always found long routes or couldn't even find many addresses. The interface was a drag. No exit numbers shown. Even cheapo 50-100$ entry level GPSs that I got from my friends to use worked better. 20$ down the drain.
