    ^^ congrats shantz, isn't bamboo capture used for character modelling and stuff like that ? What do u plan to use it for ?

    thanks.. bamboo is used by lot of artists for different 2D/3D stuff.. My sis loves sketching so I thought of giving her this..

    if im not wrong google is trying to make the settings/menu button redundant and soon you wont find it in future android devices

    Settings button he is talking abt here is the on-screen icon that takes you to the settings options. It can be found in ICS in the notification bar.

    Dude!!! I want one of those :(

     

    The lack of availability outside of the US is a really shitty piece of marketing by ASUS.

    I guess they are running out of capacity. Availability is very low even within the US. Over last 3-4 weeks, no major retailer had it and others were/are selling it for huge markups (like anywhere between 200-400 $ above the retail price)..

    Jailbreak it :) SBSettings is the thing u need. Similar to Android. One of the oldest JB tweaks.

     

    FYI, Jetpack Joyride has a pause button at the top right :P Most games have it on the top right or left.

     

    I am still telling u if YOU are going to use it, u better JB it right now or return it. This is coming from someone who uses his iPad everyday as an evening computer.

    yeah I tried jailbreaking but absinthe keeps telling me to run as admin even though I am admin.. came to know that it is some domain related issue (since I only have my office laptop right now)...

    Will check out the pause button, thanks.. probably couldnt locate it last night in all the stuff that was going on on-screen..

    I have played it, its total drool worthy. I was surprised how you picked ipad2 over this @ the first place.

     

    For me its a shoot out between prime and ipad3

    yeah.. the main reason was the issues that I was seeing everywhere for prime plus it is pretty much out of stock everywhere or being sold for huge mark ups..Other android tabs looked meh in terms of hw as well as without ICS, they arent really worth anything..

     

    Some stores got stock a couple of days ago though so thought of taking the plunge (still not on sale and had to make them get it out of the back and sell it to me 3 days earlier than it is supposed to actually go on sale)

    yeah, u r right, even i faced some irritation with settings with ipad after using android, where i can just flick the menu button at the bottom to reveal settings tab for every app....here you don't have that option....also by reflex i always search for the back button at the bottom of the ipad when i want to go to the previous screen....after using android phones lol :D

    lol.true.. same thing kept happening to me over the past couple of days again and again.. By instinct my hand automatically goes at the bottom and then I realize nothing happened and then grudgingly take my hand all-the-way to the upper left corner and go back to previous screen.. and some apps dont even allow that.. e.g. I was playing this jetpack game or something and then I wanted to pause it.. But dont know how..there is no on screen button. I just have to press the home button to go back to main screen to pause it.. Also, if I wanted to cancel the current game and start over or change some setting for the game, no dice. I had to finish the game to go back to starting menu..

    long ways ? Can you please elaborate .... just curious :bigyellowgrin:

    e.g. if I have to change some setting (turn on/turn off types), i need to stop the current app, go to settings menu, change, then come back to app..or if I have to share some things through other apps, there is no inter-app thingy you can do. You have to save the image, go to other app then do it..I also dislike the lack of menu functionality..iOS apps expose so less on screen and you have either very less control or you need to keep going to settings screen to configure or change something.

    They might not sound like much (especially to folks who are doing it this way from the beginning). They didnt seem like much to me as well earlier before buying but when it came to actually using, it frustrated me a lot..

    But again, like I said, it could be just initial issues and I might come to live with it. That's why I havent returned the iPad as well yet. Will use both tabs over the next 5-6 days and then will return the one that I dislike most.

    So you don't like the iPad then?

    well, its kinda mixed.. otherwise i'd have returned it by now..

    Apps are great but the OS itself is making me go nuts.. its so unwieldy and everything has to be done in such long ways..For newbies, non techies it might be good as it is a step-by-step intuitive kinda thing but it is not meant for people like us (who get frustrated if they have to click a mouse instead of using keyboard shortcuts).. Im still keeping it though in case it grows on me..

     

    EDIT: plus there were a couple of other reasons that made me consider prime again:

    1. release of chrome for android

    2. a new hw build of prime is out and also some new updates released today, so i hope this might fix the issues somewhat.. I dont need GPS (which is anyways not there on ipad also) but I need good wi-fi.

    after the initial excitement of themes and apps and all that experimenting is over....not sure what to do with my SII now....now I use it for only taking photos, music, making calls and browsing (when I'm in the loo) ! So much of hooplah and all that research into buying that perfect phone....and to think of it, I even got a contract with UL data plan and stuff :-/

     

    What a sham , could've got a video game for PS3 every month in the amount i pay for the plan :doh:

    hahaha..true man.. thats why i am in no hurry to replace my nexus one..
