    Not necessarily. Many are borrowing from investors. Heck, read that some hedge funds are now actively shorting the stock too. New shorts. Unprecedented times. WSB is possibly now one of the biggest HF on Earth, which is entirely decentralised and democratised.

    I'm not saying they would, but I'm also not saying it wouldn't. This is a monumental squeeze, and the ones owning big volume of stocks are the ones holding like anything. If the shorters have to cover, they have to buy, driving up the prices. I don't think 500+ is that difficult.

    The trade volume is pretty low. People are holding strongly, which means price will only go up if short positions are to be covered. Thinking of a low volume buy. 2-3 shares max.
