Karnataka has come out like the true Champion in the fight against Corona. Strong leadership, excellent enforcement of L&O and rigorous contacts tracing has paid off. I hope they keep the borders closed.

Actually, I have seen these items being sold for 1-2$ a day before “best before” dates. It kinda feeds into addiction among the low-income groups. initial pricing of the items account for wastage/discount-selling aa well, so companies don’t lose anything. i think India has very much shielded from this crap so far, but it won’t take long before it becomes a disaster. we need to start visual labelling food with trans-fat, sodium especially MSG, Olestra, very specifically..

What you mean by cold cuts? Like Salami, turkey slices, hams...and all? If that is what you mean then I have bad news for you. They are bad for heath in long run. I was avid Subway eater, BMT was my favorite. Hell, I used to have Subway 4-5 times a week. I also used to clean up bag of Venky's chiken nuggets in a week. Didn't know problems it comes with. This kind of meat has high sodium and that leads to hypertension and heart issues. Coupled with my smoking back in those times, It gave me bad insomnia and lot of issues which took two long years to resolve. Once in a while having them is fine...don't make them part of your diet. Americans are living examples that Cold cuts must be avoided.

It’s common understanding that going from 0 to 100 will be disastrous. it won’t happen, I don’t see inter-state transport, trains, airlines opening anytime soon. I’m sure even intra-district movement would be restricted.

Doubling rate is good metric to know state imposed measures have any impact at all. if that spread is increasing exponentially or tending to become linear. US had 125k cases on 28/3 250k cases on 2/4 —— ~25k per day 500k cases on 10/4 —- ~ 31k per day 1m cases on 27/4 —- ~29k per day So with rate of doubling increasing, even in linear terms they have brought the spread controlled.

Orange gargoyle is the worst thing than the ChineseVirus for America. 62k people are dead, no mourning, no regret.

This is everyday thing now, a police/health-worker group gets attacked somewhere.I think TV has stopped covering it now. Day before Pune, yesterday Howra, today Kanpur...We have so many cops infected and dead now, I have lost count.

Losing Irrfan feels very personal. Such a nice bloke and fine actor, he made me buy a lot of Syska LEDs.

Truly, one of the greatest. His eyes spoke the words he didn’t. Maqbool, Talvar, Paan Singh Tomar.....

@Banz happy anniversary

Despite that. They have already bent active cases curve

Kerala, TN, Karnataka, Telangana have bent the active cases curve. Andhra has flattened it, soon it will get bent. There is something special about South, people understand things better.

That’s correct. Anything above the baseline + 10-20% of baseline can be accounted for total Covid deaths. They should tell us the numbers.
