    Ah well, atleast they can pass it off saying even the other tablets out there (including the iPad) are LCDs.

    2.What does rooting means in this context is it like "JailBreaking" i.e you cannot use most softwares without rooting whats the sole purpose of rooting ? - Rooting lets u install apps like market enabler. And it basically gives u root access (super user or admin or whatever u call it) .     3.Have heard from many that phone lags a lot,whats the basic reason for it hardware/software , can it be fixed with 2.2 update ? - There is a small software fix for that. It's not a hardware issue.

     

    4.Whats with Touchwiz 3.0 people say its very laggy and hence people root the phone to get rid of TouchWiz 3.0 (not too sure on this) - You can get rid of it by flashing your phone with a custom ROM.

    It also picked up my USB stick content. WITH SUBTITLES. That sold me on the spot.. :|

     

    And Phillips players look slick!

     

    Bloody wonderful. Subtitles in a separate file that you can enable while playing avi's on the PS3..

    Oh, I thought it was only phones that came under that rule, atleast that's what it said on the rules page last time I say "mobile phones are not allowed"

    I can understand if this was some phone obtained from the grey. But considering android phones are being mass marketed in India that is quite stupid.

    You need to root to buy apps? :ko:

     

    I think Google's policy is to restrict app markets to certain regions - pretty stupid policy if you ask me. So to bypass that you gotta fake your phone's region. Consequently, you need root access + this app (market enabler) to do that.

    Congratz on your first iDevice gaurav :cheers:

     

     

    First iOS device DS :D First iDevice was an iPod Mini and then an iPod Nano 1st gen. :) Long looooooooooong ago.

     

    Anyway I haven't even touched the seal on the package. I'll put it on TP here in the morning when I'm a bit less sleepy. So I'll have to wait a few months till I accrue enough cash to get another more recent touch.

     

    All those apps, just a broken seal and a few touchscreen taps away... must resist.. !!!!

    Thank you, umm well.. that was a winning too. These are actually things I've won over the last 6 months that I got only now. I won't be keeping half of it cos I could kinda use the cash.

    gaurav u got the old Touch?????? Now?? :doh:

     

    I can't go tell someone NOT to give me something I won now can I? I mean... that'd be stupid.. :D

     

    It'll be up on TP soon. Well the package is sealed unopened with warranty till June 2011. And Rs. 9750 is the lowest Buy it now price on ebay for this model.

    So maybe I'll just sell it for 8500-9500 and use the money later when I have enough to get a new one.
