  1. Watched Robin Hood (the new flick).

No matter what the reviews said, I enjoyed the film. Maybe it's because I know a bit more about the different legends behind the Robin Hood story than just "robin hood = outlaw who robbed from the rich and gave to the poor".

This is more like what Batman Begins was to the movies that came before it. An origin story, how he came to be an outlaw thanks to ungrateful King John, than a tale of his exploits after he became an outlaw.

    Now I need a director's cut.

  2. @gaurav & afty

    please don't kill the thread.

Don't worry i won't. You can see how quickly I cut down my gif size, it's not like I want war on a jokes thread :P seeing as in how I'm usually all for putting jokes on a jokes thread and subsequently commenting on how good/bad jokes on said jokes thread are.

  3. Of course you didnt think before picking. Forget about "every contingency" you didnt think at all.

I have no idea what you are babbling about quoting images. On the rare occasion that does happen whoever does it gets called out by at least half a dozen people, since it is against rules. And my first post was polite as could be to someone who has been around here for a while and (I would imagine) would know better. But you came up with the usual childish whining about "but everyone does it" when infact the I struggle to think of anyone who is using an avatar more than 1/3 the size of yours.

And as far as the backbone thing is concerned.... well LOL.

EDIT: Don't struggle too much btw. Find one just below your last post. Sorry about being pedantic, but 1mB+ , so there you go.

I admitted I made a mistake and I'd set it right, what more do you want now? :scratchchin:

There's a difference between showing backbone and throwing a fit for anything and everything :P

  4. Seriously? By the same logic since you have a 2MB GIF its cool for someone else to have a 4 MB Gif? Where exactly would you draw the line? At 2MB? Just because you happen to have it?

1 MB is annoying enough already 2 MB is just flat out stupid. Even if its cached and I dont log out, switch browser or move to a different PC, it slows the page the down the first time I load it. If I happen to be downloading something or watching a video online it just kills it until the GIF is loaded.

And god forbid if I try to use IVG on a 256K connection from work or somewhere else. It would take me one full minute just to load your Avatar. You really think that thats OK? Or that your Avatar is that special, that people should wait for 1 minute for it?

Have some consideration for others FFS.

Boy you sure do throw a hissy fit. It's not like this is a war room for me to think of every contingency possible and then decide on an image to pick for an avatar.

Did you read the last line?

I don't see you making much of an issue out of people quoting huge images in most threads or others with large animated gifs. Perhaps you should show some backbone then and fend for us poor folk who browse on a slow connection instead of picking on someone who follows pretty much every rule on IVG all the time. A simple "please reduce the gif size" would have sufficed. yeah, i made a mistake by not checking size first and thinking that IVG would only load a smaller sized image and not make everyone download the whole 2mb 3xx x 3xx pic.

As for "inconsiderate about other people", maybe you should check the picture size after your last comment. I have changed it to a smaller gif.

  5. Not cute enough to not piss me off about your 2 MB GIF.

Seriously dude. I expect that from newcomers not old regulars.

Hmm i didn't calculate. But really.. people have 1mb gifs and quote pics all around and a 2mb gif really that bad enough to piss u off? Besides you cache it the first time you open a thread with my post in it, then you're set.

Anyway I'll reduce work on reducing the size soon

  6. You just have one shot at that. If you miss the QTE, it destroys the part of the arm which fires missiles and sends you back to the battle area.

Thanks. Repped. Will try again tomorrow.

  7. You need to hit the right arm, as that's the one which constantly launches missiles.

I did keep doing it after I missed the quicktime event, but it didn't happen again, I just blew the arm off.

  8. You need to rotate the right analog stick in this sequence; clockwise, anti-clockwise and clockwise again. Once this is successfully execute this, Sam will grab hold of the last missile and thrust it back into the Argus's arm.

OK, but how do I trigger that running-up the arm sequence.

  9. Just finished the demo.... damn, fast paced is an understatement. Thoroughly enjoyed the level.

How do you trigger that sequence where the robot goes for you and your character runs up the arms and the robot fires a missile at you? I did it once but I have no idea how to do it again. And the one time that I did do it, I was looking elsewhere when the game was telling me to twirl the analog stick. So I got shot out of the air and didn't see whatever should have followed!

  10.

I dont know how surround sound on PC works though. Do i need to install a special sound card on my motherboard on a custom built PC to get surroun sound support? Also how do i get digital optical output on PC?

What motherboard do you have? Onboard audio from Realtek perhaps?

  11. Well yeaa tried that.. Waited for bout 5mins, it was still searching. :nerves:

Also how do you set it so that it uses the mobile internet and not wifi? I have the Vodafone settings and stuff setup but I think the browser and the rest of the apps are trying to connect via wifi.

    Forgive my noobiness :fear:

Would this be related to your issue in any way? --> http://mobilenews.mybloogs.com/2010/08/17/samsung-galaxy-s-gps-gate-two-problems-not-one-and-what-to-do-about-it/

    Or maybe this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJmLLIfcWCY

    Or this?

    From http://www.samsunggalaxysforum.com/samsung-galaxy-s-how-to/gps-working-perfectly!!/msg2221/?PHPSESSID=a966f3f1f03acd30f90ef58e56f620b1#msg2221

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. Most of the sites that had the fix have been shut down. I have the steps, just follow it and it should work perfectly like mine does. If you want more info before trying it, just google search Samsung galaxy s gps fix. There should be quite a few sites that talk about it. It will take some searching but you should be able to find more detailed directions.

I found that this fix from xda-developers worked dramatically well on my Galaxy S. Seems it is simply a settings issue as www.spirent-lcs.com doesn't exist:

    * Step 1 -- Open menu > settings > Location & Security. Uncheck the box next to "Use Wireless Networks"

    * Step 2 -- Open the dialer (the phone button) and enter the following: *#*#1472365#*#* . Then press "send" to open the Vibrant's LbsTestMode menu.

    * Step 3 -- In the LBSTestMode menu, press “Application Settings” and change “Operation Mode” to “MS Based.”

    * Step 4 -- In the LBSTestMode menu, find “SUPL/CP Settings” and change the SERVER & PORT to supl.google.com and port 7276 (DO NOT use www. in front of supl !)

    * Step 5 -- Reboot your phone.

    * Step 6 -- Open menu > settings > Location & Security. Check the box next to "Use Wireless Networks"

If you want to reverse these changes, the original specs are:

    Operation Mode: Standalone

    SERVER: www.spirent-lcs.com

    PORT: 7275

One of the comments on that vid:

All this app does is run in the background talking to the GPS satellites. When you switch to Google Maps, your device already has a satellite fix so Google Maps will jump to your position quickly. Dial *#*#1472365#*#* and choose "Get position Test" then press the back button. Note the GPS icon up at the top stays there. Now go back to Get position test, press back to the main menu LbsTestMode, the GPS icon at the top is gone.
