You can always download untouched ISO's from torrent/link sites and re-install your OS.
(that's what I did when I had to re-install my OS..
Download, install, enter key when asked, done.)
With windows yes, but does a Mac OS / OS update ask you for a CD-Key?

Anyone have any opinions about the SkullCandy Hesh 2.0 headphones? They came out after Skullcandy acquired Astro and had some Bose guy help with stuff.
Only reason I'm considering them is cos I get an employee discount of 50%. I'm considering them for both music and general use with the PC (I don't need a separate microphone).

It was clear data... not clear cache. That did the trick.

Heard there's some way to force it (probably anecdotal but yea). Apparently it involves force stopping some specific Google services or something and then checking for a system update.
edit - from some forum comment. Might as well try it - Go to settings> apps>all> find Google services framework then force close and clear cache. After that go to about phone in settings and check for update. It should say something like last checked for update November 1970. Can take a few tries before it says 4.2 is available.
thanks. I already tried earlier and it didn't work. Will give it a few more attempts tonight.
EDIT: Whether I try it through the settings menu or Titanium backup, the cache for that app just won't clear even after FC'ing it. It remembers perfectly when I last checked for an update. :|

Strangely enough I still haven't gotten the OTA notification for 4.2.2. :|
And I'm kinda lazy here cos I have plenty to do on weekends apart from flashing my phone.

I hate this Origin bullshit. More than that, I hate the way BF3 sniffs out that you're online and then annoys the f**k out of you if you want to try and play even the single player campaign. It takes you that landing page on the web saying "Hey install this shitty plugin". Nowadays I just block internet access and run it offline, but still I hate the whole need-to-be-online-to-play assumption.
