  1. I have tons of friends from EE who had their specialization in VLSI. Most of them joined Qualcomm, Intel, LSI, Broadcom (a few in Nvidia, TI). You should have absolutely no trouble landing a good job. If you need me to refer you to MS or any of the companies above, let me know.

That would most certainly be helpful, I'll hit you up around a month from now if I don't have any interviews by then. Thanks in advance. :)

    4-5 months to go.

I made the mistake of putting some management courses (extra ones, GT makes us take 4 courses a semester as against 3) on my resume and some clowns who interviewed me for internships thought I was interested in Management and not Tech though I made it clear. Now cleaned up the resume and only have my tech stuff in there.

  2. Well ALL the SC/ST folks I know in medicine (with the exception of 1) are pretty well to do. One of them is a dead-beat bastard who doesn't deserve to be in any course, let alone medicine. Barely passed but by virtue of his SC/ST status he's in a decent college where he's already a few break batches down.

So while a few of the reserved category seats do indeed help the poor and needy, there's plenty of these misused. I'm not sure of the exact situation AFTER my batch because I haven't cared much, but upto my bunch this was very much the case.

  3. distrusting toi is natural :fap:

but its quite a observational fact no of bds graduates are damn too high (like us stupid engg)

u might know more ppl in ur circle that are dentists than dr i.e if u r already not a mbbs student in which case u wud only know fellow DRs rest wud be oblivious to ur existence :P

anyways dont want to be dug into this discussion im looking for a govt job not interested in rest of career options :)

    :bandit:

  4. Why do you keep quoting images is a simple straight fwd question.

I think u took it in the chiding sense and hence the replies followed. I wasnt rude or chiding when i asked that question :)

Uh, I don't. Keep => Repeated instances. Like I said, nice joke thought it should be on the next page hence quoted.

  5. That is just a figment of your imagination that i ll be bothered time n again.

You asked what the problem i noticed while u posted the whole damn post and i replied back. If you havent noticed a few members go easy with the tag format and at the same time post their views, then its easy to understand how the basic internet posting ethics gave u a miss.

Anyhow, a simple reply from your side would have been good enough instead of gloating about your thinking. Chill maar re.

Much the same a simple "Please don't quote images" would have been sufficient instead of a chiding Why do you keep quoting images. Peace.

  6. im sorry u dont seem to have a lot of clue abt what i am saying

recent study (read in TOI) showed that a disproportionate amount of dentist are graduating

in states like maha and karnataka there are way too many colleges than what is required

dentistry is a highly skilled job but so is engineering and other jobs

dentist arent exactly general medicine practitioners which our country needs in a large number

No opinion on this debate but as for that bold part :threatenlumber: just Don't hehe

  7. lucky you :( ...

If you actually go to a 70mm non-digital print screening of the IMAX you wouldn't have seen it, but the more common digital IMAX (some say LieMAX) theaters with large screens showed both these (like the one I went to). Man of Steel caused a bit of a stir here, but the Yanks sitting near me were like "Meh, the queen's secret service yeah right..." when they saw Skyfall's trailer. :furious:

  8. bds itself is a bs course

there is already huge no of dentist

real doctors on other hand are less than what are required

colleges are hard to set up so good private college dont open(shoddy ones do for money)

govt is lethargic in creating more institues

and ppl here shud grow up though there are few cases of blatant misuse of reservation most sc/st student i came across came from humble background and fee wavier they got was helpful

If there are any dentists on this forum, then :

  9. Really pissing off... Spent the whole night yesterday trying to remember all the apps and sites i'd logged into in my phone and changed the passwords for all.

And S3 people, anyone running custom roms? Which one?

    And how's this one?

Right after this happened, I've been making sure AndroidLost on my device is up to date and trying to test how everything is working. If your google account is still associated with that phone, maybe just maybe you can push androidlost on it. Then send the enable data command and try the gps command. It should return a more or less accurate location.

  10. That's the reason I chose Medicine over Engineering .. :P

    MicroSoft all the way B)

    You are highly mistaken

I stay in a Tier 3 city .. Almost every literate patient asks my dad regarding the treatments , side effects , effectiveness of surgery

Those days are gone when patient treated the doc as the God

+1 it's true for everywhere, right from big cities to small villages, though in the villages that lack of respect only shows up rarely when some patient dies and they start blaming the doctor for it :P

  11. Instead of spending so much if the guy just puts in more and studies he will end up in a good government medical college

The fees of my government college is 50,000 per year .. I stay in a separate rented room of 5k per month

While on the other hand those people who waste their life by bunking classes and f**king girls are surely going to end up paying hell of money

I have friends who payed 40 lakhs just as a donation plus fees extra which is 7 lakhs per year just for MBBS degree

Only God will save them for PG , Super specialization

Hence the qualifier "(if you're unable to get in the college of your choice by merit alone) "

Job satisfaction is the most in Medicine

    About the donations part ..

It could be avoided quite easily except in Super specializations

    My parents are doctors ..

I grew up seeing them work more than 12 hours a day ..

My mom reduced her OPD timings just 2 years back .

My dad still works more than 12 hours a day .. He has a separate room in hospital where he takes a nap in the afternoon and does his breakfast and lunch

That was the reason I had actually dropped Biology and went for Engineering (IIT JEE preparations :fear: )

I even had Scooter maintenance as vocational subject in 11th ..

Just 2 months before my 11th finals I switched over to Biology :P

I don't know about quite easily, even a small small dip in your score can finish you off if you're a forward-caste candidate.

And if your plans are engineering in IIT (especially if you're gonna be doing comp sci / electronics ), I'm expecting you'll be singing a Linux/Unix tune years from now ;)
