I guess the only draw with Prometheus was that a lot of ppl went in with heaps of expectations of it being linked to 'Alien'. However, as someone said correctly, if you go in to view it as a standalone movie, you probably wont be disappointed. Scott has already said that he is trying to create a new universe with strands of DNA from Alien movies. He has also said that if he does a sequel, it will tangentialize further from Alien movies. So don't expect much answers from the sequel as well
If we go in with that view, then it's even worse. The movie had awesome visuals but the story was just retarded and the pacing was off.. there was no real suspense... all the problems achilles outlined above too. If you link it to the Alien universe then it aleast has the saving grace that you see a bit more about the race that supposedly served as the creator / precursor to humans in that universe.

From going through a ton of these die-hard Alien fan forums and such all I can surmise is that Prometheus seems more a movie to rake in the moolah from action-loving viewers than to please the fans. That's how it appears to me, rather than rewriting canon or providing an explanation really. It doesn't explain some very basic questions asked in the movie and hate how they literally left all those things out as if there was a "Prometheus Part-2" right around the corner.

That isnt the xeno we know and love(hate), its a protoxeno. They dont appear till we go to the other moon. Now that it has Engineer(as well as Human) DNA. it will evolve when the Sulaco arrives (but it doesnt explain the appearance of the face huggers, the eggs etc etc). I also think LV-426 houses another installation.
The Pod wasnt meant for the crew, it was the special passenger. The engineer ingests the black goo to start life on the planet. or something
The engineer, in the beginning, disintegrates himself willingly to let the planet be seeded with his DNA. Hence resulting in human beings. Atleast that's the most reasonable explanation I could think up.
I don't think it explains the beginning of the Aliens at all. It is far far down the line from where the aliens actually began. This is considering that the Aliens appear in the 'current' section of the timeline as well, not just in the future this movie shows. Unless:
1. This is a reboot
2. The AVP films and a good bunch of the comics / other literature in the continuity are no longer considered to be part of canon.

Good game otherwise.
Finished it last night. Just what I was thinking about the ending too. Yeah, the game was pretty good, but it felt like it ended all of a sudden, whereas every other cutscene was really long

Watched Prometheus in 3D today. it was alright. Awesome effects, however the story was a letdown. It was so deliberately setting up to build hype for a possible sequel while leaving out clarifying for major plot points.
Them running in a straight line along the rolling space ship's path was just retarded. However, the way they treated half the people as disposable idiots who had no reason for even being there in the first place was fail. More so, the origin of the alien race. No explanation of what that dark liquid really was. No explanation for where the Engineers come from. The Yautja were using Xenomorphs to seed planets and create hunting opportunities well before the time period shown in this movie. However, this flick tries to show that the specific variation of the Xenomorph that we've seen all the time is a result of a facehugger giving an engineer the treatment. Not even the reason for the Engineers trying to kill humans off was described. It's fine if they bring out a sequel to this and explain that sh*t but as a standalone it was an OK movie, not brilliant or anything.
Maybe I was expecting a bit much here though, especially that the origins of the Alien would be explained well
Spiderman's trailer popping up everywhere is kinda making me want to watch that too. Was thinking about skipping it and 'acquiring it' later but I'm bored on weekends (found this after being at work for 8+ hours each weekday the past 2 weeks) and I need an excuse to get out of the house

As long as you have a Visa or Master card, i dont think it should be a problem for you. I have used my UK CC for making purchases in India, Dont know about Flipkart in particular
That's what I usually do too since mine's a VISA (and then Myntra keeps bugging me asking for passport copy and sh*t), but then on Flipkart they have fields for the billing address asking for City, State and Zipcode with no country option which don't let me progress.

Thank you for offering to help, much appreciated. But what I was asking was whether there was any workaround like an online card you can create in India linked to any bank account that you can attach to paypal or something and then use for such purchases.

All in all, the GNex is a very good phone, but it will never get the kind of marketing that Sammy would do for any of their own branded phones.
Yeah, I wish it had SD card storage too but then I still have around 6gb remaining despite having a bunch of games, photos and videos. I guess it depends on what kind of network you're on too, indirectly. With high speed wifi always around, I just keep everything on Google music and stream it off that. Camera snaps are all synced to dropbox.

If one is planning to play some graphic-intensive games, 16 GB is too less IMO. ME takes about 500 MB and so do a lot of other games. NOVA 3 takes up 2 GBs -- which is ridiculous! :|
Agreed, of late I've noticed individual games taking way too much space. The 500mb ones are kinda OK though, but MC3 and Real Racing 2 take up much much more. And yes, Nova 3's 2gb wouldn't sit too well with me. I don't do much serious gaming with my phone so until that happens I guess I'm good. Of course there's always Titanium Backup Pro to move stuff off the phone and back on when you don't need it if you're low on memory.

Anybody know a workaround to using Flipkart.com without having an Indian credit card? (In the US currently, have paypal and Visa and such). i.e. a workaround that doesn't involve making your folks back home buy for you.

I don't see the point why people buy such costly phones almost day 1.. Which app in market is worthy of such raw power? I have galaxy sl and I can pretty much run any app smoothly.. And this thing costed me 18k.. Oh yes I have Ics installed too.. IMO this should be the right time buy S2.. I guess S2 price should drop in near future..

Unless one needs a HUGE amount of space on the phone (I really think 16gb is more than enough), I'd say just go with a Galaxy Nexus and enjoy getting upgrades really fast without a cluttered up manufacturer-mangled version of ICS on the phone.

By the time the movie finished I had grown a beard, my chest hair was thick enough to make ropes out of and all the water in my fridge has turned to beer. Also I am afraid to check but I might have grown an extra pair down there.
Heck yeah, watched it a few days ago and the real sh*t starts when they run out of ammo.

They did actually show a handheld plasma/laser/ray kinda weapon that gets used a few times (ineffectively). The fire was better
