    arsenal signed an experienced defender in squillaci last season too ;)

     

    dint seem to make any difference :P

    Mertsacker has been to 3 World Cup SFS plus he will be an Aerial threat in corners .Only worry is his lack of pace but since Arsenal generally get outmuscled rather than outpassed I reckon he will be a good signing.

    @ azaan, tbh keeping yossi and adding raul seems a better deal than spending an outrageous 40 mill on luka. add to that the cancer that will spread in spurs after the failed deal L-O-L !!

    +1 hes a far more better buy ,I actually rate meireles very highly .Modric is undoubtedly better but Meireles is better value for money in addition to his lesser wage demand
