  1. Yea man, I got scared, seeing that temp & I didn't even boot into Windows yet. Anyways, I was just curious as to how much of temp is considered "safe" for the Core i7?

  2. Ok, the stock cpu coolers from Intel is just WORTHLESS. I was getting temps of 60 & climbing with no overclocking.

I could not find the Noctua :(. So I settled for a Thermalright Venomous X with two 120mm fans in push-pull config & now I'm getting temps around 50 -55 & with the cpu overclocked at 4.00 Ghz on full load (with LinX & Prime95).

The core voltage is 1.20, will fiddle with vcore & will try to bring it down to 1.1+ range.

  3. Sadly, India liquid cooling parts are not available, I am getting the Koolance kit from US.

However, Lynx India has some stock of liquid cooling kits, but they are not from well known brands & I have heard that Lynx India is a terrible online retailer.

  4. I'm gonna watercool it man, for that 800D is awesome. Also a drivebay fan does improve the air intake problem with the obsidian. It's just that I simply hate the look of the HAF-X, I am more into sleek looking cabinets.

I do get your point on the mobo front, but I have seen minor improvements in performance in many reviews over the P67 chipset.

  5. I am in the process of building a new gaming rig, have a question on the gfx card front :

    Here's the specs :

    BenQ 24" Display

    Core i7 2700K

    Asus z68 Pro Mobo

    8 GB DDR 3 RAM

    Corsair HX 850 PSU

    Corsair Obsidian 800D Cabinet

Now I am wondering if 2 X GTX 570 SLI will be better than a GTX 590 since it's cheaper to get the 570's also will the PSU be able to provide the juice for the cards, since I am planning to connect multiple HDDs.

  6. I had no choice man, my earlier setup was like this :

    dsc01480custom.jpg

Too much wire clutter, so had to move the TV & consoles to the drawing room. So I wall mounted the TV & the speakers. Didn't notice any difference.

Also In this pic my PC config :

    BenQ V2440W 24" Monitor

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

    6 GB Corsair XMS2 RAM

1.6 TB HDD (actually 3 hard disks for a total space of 1.6 TB)

MSI GeForce 8800 GT Gfx card

    MSI P35 Neo 2 Mobo

Asus D2X Xonar PCI XPress Sound Card

Cooler Master Real Power 450 Watts SMPS

  7. mm.. so it is really bass heavy? how have you wired the rear speakers?

@ joy.. what sort of weird blue gunk is there on the threy? :P

Yes dude, the sub is too powerful (especially) if u keep it in a small room.

My Z5500 is very old, bought it way back in 2005, that time they did not have sockets for speaker channels. So I just extended the wires with a run of a mill twisted pair cable.
