  1. err, no. i was trying to throw you a bone there :furious:

Parminder Nagra was the link to Gotham Knight.

    Ergo, DRAW \m/

Yep - Cassandra - although a great storyline, I thought they would actually play up the role of Shiva who taught Bruce about Pain rather than Cassandra. And Cassandra(!), Indian accented woman in Varanasi with European name - researchers screwed up there.

  2. Saw Gotham Knight.a good 75 minutes spent.i'm really looking forward to the dark knight.

but still batman returns remains my fav. super hero flick.

    returns or begins?

Returns somehow failed to impress like its predecessor - it became a bit too campy. Batman had the right amount of darkness with a dash of the comic book thrown in.

  3. There is a McDonalds there? I couldn't find any and had to eat from one of the other local eatries. But then, the place is too damned big so it could have been nestled anywhere.

I spent most of my time looking for an english bookstore. All I could find were German magazines. All english magazines were horribly overpriced.

Terminal B - on the top floor. Big McD - but it's hidden away. All the Relay book stores (there are 3 or 4 in the airport) store english books - but horribly overpriced. Best place to go through Playboy and Penthouse, they are not hidden away or covered like in the US .

And it's a bloody large place - but when there's a 7 hour layover, not much to do but explore. Also, security's horrible now - there's a checkpost at every terminal. Imagine going through two body probes for a burger.

Enough OT now - else MT will come with a banhammer soon.

  4. Aren't things overpriced at Frankfurt airport? I bought a bloody alarm clock for EUR 15 which would have not cost me INR 200 here.

they are horribly overpriced. only place where mcdonald's is actually not cheap. even i was surprised at the cost of the Wii. 249 Euro is not bad - considering that it's nearly impossible to get it in the US at the $250 price.

  5. Nice.

Now go secretly kick yourself for not getting the iPhone.

He knows me so well. And I am not buying the iphone coz my wife has called dibs on it. No way can I afford two.

Actually felt like kicking self in Frankfurt Airport - two Wii Sports PAL bundles on sale for E249 (decent price - it even came with the European adapter). I felt like crying because I didn't have any money after the ipod touch, and this after going all over the tristate area trying to find a Wii.

bulvoski - how much for the itouch?? legally bought in Ind?"

Bought in Boston - Apple Store. Cost me $295 with taxes - I got a discount because of a corporate tie up with Apple.

  6. finished reaper man by pratchett today

starting 'stranger in a strange world' by heinlein

reaper man - there's such a change in death from his early appearances. this sort of marks the point where terry moves away from the mythical world and makes it more steam/fantasy/punk.

stranger in a strange land - ahhh - up right there with 2001 and Foundation as the best SF novels. Sort of the holy trinity of SF.

  7. I am soooo late to the party - blame it on age. But I did see all the videos. All that is sweet and holy have commingled to present D3 - sigggggggghhhhhh. Dreams are going to come true.

    Let's go through the checklist:

    Hordes of enemies - check

    Random items - check

    Skill trees - check

    Isometric view - check

    Dungeon Crawls - check

Yup - sounds like the king of clickfests is back. Better stock up on mice, medicine for carpal tunnel syndrome and shall plan a sabbatical as soon as the release date is announced.

I love some of the new stuff:

Health globes from enemies, Reactive environments, Witch doctor looks uber sick, and the bosses look impressive. If you haven't seen the trailer check out the boss at the end - fiendishly big.

    So the new list is:

    D3 > FO3 > SC2 > FF IV DS

  8. I saw 21, Fool's Gold and Gotham Knight.

21 - Ummm ok. Nothing amazing about it. I preferred the documentary in History Channel. The twist is so predictable it's more like a bend.

Fool's Gold - The only reason to watch is Kate Hudson. I've been in love with her from Almost Famous and the love story continues. Otherwise this is a complete not-see movie. I blame Lufthansa and the drunk next to me for forcing me to watch the movie.

Gotham Knight - This is so totally awesome, a far better teaser for Dark Knight. My favourite is "Working through the Pain". And the first one also rocks.

  9. Coming here after a long time - blame it on expensive hotel internet rates.

I finally managed to locate a copy of The World Ends With You for the DS - oh man oh man - SE has turned out something absolutely fun-tastic here.

    Image:The_World_Ends_With_You.jpg

Between Guitar Hero and WEWY, I might not have time to play Indian Jones (yeah right!).

Anyways - to all the ones above, awesome buys.

@MT - or anyone else - now that I am in the US for a few more days only - can someone tell me how to buy an iphone, unlock it, and get it to India and work? Thanks in advance.
