@arun360...i got the DSL from Moosa Games in Ritchie Street, Chennai. Except black they have almost all the other colours! got the R4DS from them also but they dont seem to have heard of the CycloDS which supports SDHC and the price on the net for CycloDS is expensive - US$ 50 before shipping!
@jk - thats the Asian/Chinese version which has english support...the Asian version sells out on PA as soon as they stock it!

ANnnnD the sexy new boy in my gaming arsenal...which has already stolen my sleep and has become my pride and joy...

How do you bargain in a hotel? Has anybody ever done that?you need to be shameless and ask what discount they are giving and try to pressurize them a bit...i go an extra length and try to screw them off by mentioning that hey my company deals with your chain of hotels, now why dont we talk about a discount and i will ensure that when my clients visit India/your city, they will book into your hotel only...if not in room rent, i try to get some chocolates/free stuff...

better book hotels in advance in bangalore...always difficult to get a place if you arrive suddenly...there are good service apartments...
The Ramnashree Brunton also is a good service apartment/hotel...bang on MG Road but stick to Ginger...awesome budget hotel...they have a big 32 inch(?) LCD in the rooms, good showers with an adjustable head, neat and clean and you can smoke and

in the room, no problem
cause of the recession, i believe you should be able to bargain a bit with most hotels...
and one thing Chennai has over bangalore is the free beach! three beaches actually...and some cool mallu eating joints!

you want to buy the Asian/Chinese version. It has english...the Japan version has no english support, all Japanese only.
Else you can wait for it to come to NA shores, should come by this year end hopefully...

^^Gaara...i thought tablets generally have a touch screen else how else can you use a stylus?
but for 30k or so, its an awesome device! thats a netbook or a laptop? ok it's a netbook with the twist of a tablet with stylus, no optical drives...but still cool price! not a gaming device but a cute lil 7" device...
wonder if i can get a bit more discount...

If you can get to Palika Bazaar in Delhi you can easily shave off 1500 Bucks off that price. 8600 seems a bit of a rip off to me. As far as games go, you are just up shits creek. Grey market will be your best buddy.
any particular shop which is reliable? maybe i can get one of my friend's to buy it for me and mail it here...maybe some grey market games also...

@Afty, @bulovski - thanks for taking the pains to answer my queries...i have decided to go for the DS Lite i like region free best!
Now i only need to located a dealer in Chennai, time to hit Ritchie Street soon. I have also seen the DS Lite Silver going for 8600 INR in ebay.in without any games. Is that a good price or a bit high? A singapore guy is selling for more 9600 INR but this guy has a slightly better rating.
regarding the games - where do i get the originals in India? and how do i detect fakes? i dont want any crappy quality fakes...though some of the games i have in mind, i will have to import from PA or somewhere else...

your friendly neighbourhood grey market should stock it...probably they may not have in stock readily so you may need to order...also keep in mind normal DS flashcarts like R4DS wont work and the DSi carts are still coming out...you can check this site to see which one you want http://www.flashcartreviews.com/
cost is around 12,000 as quoted in chennai
NOTE: LA has ordered the Supercard...thats ok type of cart and dont know if it works with the DSL. So check which cart you want to use.
