  1. here is my interpretation of the plot , i dunno if its correct or not , but i am sticking with this

thomas zane had come to the bright falls in the 70's there he fell in love with his muse , but the dark presence took her and unlike alice she died ,Zane realized that whatever he was writing was coming true so he brought her back to life , but it was only a shade of her former self and was engulfed with dark presence so he had to kill her , he also realized that the dark presece was trying to free it self and he realized that he had to stop it , so he decided to write himself out of the story and in his place he wrote a young man named Alan Wake.

Alan Wake is first manipulated by Thomas Zanes writing and ends up being in Bright Falls due to his writers block. From then onwards its solely Alans own story and history repeats itself and Alice is missing , which he later learns is engulfed by the dark presence . he also later realizes that the dark presence is trying to free itself again and unleash all over the world and acknowledges he has to stop it . He also realizes that just bringing Alice back to life wont cut it there is a balance that needs to be maintained ,for every good there has to b a bad .so he frees Alice(good) at the expense of himself surrendering to the dark presence(evil) . But at the same time he had secretly created Mr. Scratchy who lives on and interacts on his behalf. and he writes Bright Falls as a peaceful dreamy town . Rose is like Weaver now , Nightingale is as mysterious as ever.

Towards the end AW again gets consumed by the dark presence, which forced him to write "its not a lake but an ocean". So that the dark presence can get power again, since whatever he types, get's real.

the story seems decent at first but once u delve into it and do more reading and discussion u realize how awesome it is.

    my interpretation is that
