I liked it, but it could have been better.
I remember seeing the original as a child, when it first came out in theatres.
I'm glad they brought back the original cast from the first movie, including not just Jeff Bridges, but Bruce Boxleitner who played Tron in the original. Here, he mainly just had a cameo playing his real-world alter ego Alan.
We only see tantalizing glimpses of Tron in this sequel. Then at the end, we see Tron wake up and sacrifice himself, and finally hints of him possibly later receiving some sort of resurrection or redemption.
I wanted to see more of Tron himself, since he was the plucky superhero of the grid whom the movies were named after. In the original movie, he's a brave kickass fighter, and at least we got to see glimpses of that in the sequel, but nowhere nearly enough.

Re: Metro2033, I gotta tell you - the most overrated and overdone game idea is putting on fake Russian accents and wandering around some dreary wasteland/sewer/factory/base while loudly clickety-clack-click-clicking all the different pieces on your assault rifle and waiting to be shredded.
"Hey Yuri, I really wish I was back on the farm in Plesztabiloskovol!"
"Yeah, you said it, Ivan! I can smell mama's borscht!"

I just had to say that Vanquish is bloody awesome!
It is truly a well-made shooter, with superb gameplay mechanics as well as excellent art style and design choices. Even though it's just single-player, it has raised the bar on how shooters should be made. I'm glad the ending had a hook for a sequel, because I'm really looking forward to the next installment.
People have been saying for some time now that Japanese game publishers are in decline, with none of them having produced a Halo, GTA, Modern Warfare, or Mass Effect.
The Japanese were said to be at a disadvantage in the new era of Hollywood-style cinematic games.
Vanquish has now proven them wrong, and marks a fantastic move into the genre by Sega and Platinum Games. This is a cinematic shooter game, anime-ishtyle.

The amount of onscreen action is completely over the top.
I love the suped-up power armor, the Virtual On style boosting, and the awesome bullet time. The implementation of a cover system like Gears of War's is smart, while commandeering enemy vehicles is fun too. All these things give this game oodles of replayability to me, allowing you to re-play all the various levels to try out the most efficient ways of defeating the enemies and getting past the toughest spots.
This is a very fun game, and I recommend at least downloading the free demo from XBL or PSN, just to try it out. If you like shooters, then I guarantee you will be hooked!

Saw GI JOE: Rise of Cobra over the weekend, and liked it. It was a summer action-packed extravaganza. Screw the critics - they never like any comicbook movies anyway.
Here's a lively and irreverent movie review of the summer action blockbuster "GI JOE: Rise of Cobra"

That's what Bay does most, but not necessarily best.

The last thing I saw was Paprika, and it was a pretty amazing movie.
How does that movie My Summer Vacation look? That's Miyazaki too, isn't it? Is it any good, or just boring crap?

Just came back from watching Transformers 2. Hated it, just like I hated the first one.
Just a lot of sound and fury. Big CG fireworks show, with screeching metal sounds, and no coherent plot.
Megan Fox shows lots of T&A.
Meanwhile, watch the preview trailer for 2012:

Haha, this is really worth reading. He really lets them have it.

New Space Battleship Yamato movie is coming:
The CG style looks nicer in this. It's much softer, and closer to cel-painted art. It seems to integrate much better with the hand-drawn artwork.
