    I will tell you the same thing someone else told me when I was LCD hunting. We can stand here and offer you advice about brands endlessly but your best bet is to see it in action. There is NO substitute for it.

     

    Narrow it down to 3-4 TVs and take a few of your favorite DVDs over to the showroom that sells them. Ask them to put your DVD in the player thats hooked up to those TVs. All of those places will be happy to oblige when a sale of 60+k is involved. See which ones suits you best.

     

    yeap. and if ur gona watch a bit of standard tv as well then make sure u get them to connect a dth service so u can check that too.. cz some tvs display sd a lot poorer than others.

    plus.. get the remotes for each n fiddle the fkk out of them till u r satisfied :P

    So, I finally finished the game a few days back (lol) and I almost slapped myself for not completing it earlier. I loved every bit of it and Im really sad that it got over so soon. Man, Im gonna miss Niko in GTA V :D

     

    I cant wait for the disc release of the DLCs.

     

    soon..?? how much did u complete? took me quite a bit but i was completing the side missions as well.

    it should. cz.. it has like a gajillion controls according to tritton wh*re kwunt. (kunalkw) :D

     

    monitors and tvs are different - very very different. a tv is not just a large monitor - the pixels are much larger. a monitor on the other hand uses smaller pixels. hence 1080p shows a lot of difference once you hit the 42" mark on the tv.

     

    well.. that is true for different screen sizes, not just for tv or pc.

     

     

    More than anything viewing distance alters drastically between a PC monitor and a TV. Most people sit about 2-3 feet away from the PC. The distance is about 3 times as much on the TV. Therefore you are more likely to notice higher resolutions on a PC than on the TV.

     

    true. and now im qualified enough to say this :( , but if you move close to a tv of the same resolution but a larger size than a monitor ud see the loss in comparative quality. it's actually cz we need to read text on the monitor whereas tv is more towards motion picture.

    Bump! Any ideas? I really wanna move my PC collection from cardboard boxes to plastic cases.

     

    try palika.. i used to get all my ps2 games with boxes.. dunno if ul fond th quality acceptable tho.. but they were decent and very cheap..

    MMmmm i envy u guys

     

    my meal these days

     

    breakfast - 5egg whites(yukkk) and MRP shake

    mid day- lassi (pheewww)

    lunch- 1 chapati + boiled chicken stew(yukk)+ daal

    post lunch- protienbar

    dinner -brocolli,mushroom, chicken salad(yukkkkk) with whey shake

     

    n i envy u. wish i had the dedication for something like this. too much of a foodie :eyebrow:

     

    plus wish sm1 wud prepare smthn like this for me.. yno stew n boiled stuff cz i wna get serious agn.. any tips on how to get it going?

    So I checked out a few HT systems - first things first - I saw a Denon setup for 32k :eyebrow:

     

    Second - checked out ezone and am never going in there - ever - again. they don't know what to display and how to setup. so unless you've tested out a system somewhere never go there. and they have limited choice.

     

    and finally - Sony sound is not good. Both Philips and Onkyo had cheaper systems and better sound. So I've decided to build my HT system using components - and wait till I can afford some good speakers.

     

    setup or the receiver..?

     

    nice - saw a similar thing today - Denon 5.1 + receiver at 31k. It's at Reliance Digital if anyone's interested.

     

    denon 7.1 rcvr @ alfa for 23k. obv w/o bill but still..

     

    that rhymed.. :nerves:
