  1. I have been harping about that since a long time... He has a lethal right foot and a decent left foot. Can score some goals. Can decently cross the ball. CANT defend for nuts. Isnt that what a winger does?

If only England and Liverpool had understood this long before...

The question you have to ask then is are you going to have him fight for positional dominance over Maxi and *gasp* ... Kuyt? I think Roy might cut his loses short. Glen doesn't have too much experience in a forward role, well not by a managers call at least but personally he probably thinks he is Messi reinvented. I say ...

    a. unload him now

    b. train him and then unload him for a better price should he get better in a more forward role

  2. +1 iPhone 4 camera is excellent.

I compared my pics with my brother's iPhone 4 and yeah that camera is better than both of my android phones [X10 and Galaxy S]. Although the cam on the X10 is pretty shite because its still not updated. I don't forsee any remarkable changes but from the blogs at Sony I am guessing that there will be.

  3. may be man shitty :P anyways don't think he would fetch a much higher price than what paid by Liverpool for him...his defensive deficiency is well publicized now...

Take the label of defender off the bottle and sell it as a winger ... problem solved ... your welcome Roy

  4. pool did wel in the first half... torres with 2 good finishes.... drogba came on n the 2nd half changed.... match of 2 halves... only chelsea cudnt score in their half :P

pool did well to leav out johnson... :giggle:

I am telling you now. Roy will ditch him and buy someone new. The cash income for it would be super. Now the only question is who wants Johnson with all his shennanigans

  5. Personally, I hope Liverpool use this to atleast start showing some willingness to jump back in the attack saddle because towards the end it looked like Chelsea were going to net one. If Reina hadn't stopped that Malouda header then things might have looked different. A little confidence goes a long long way. The biggest upset for me today was with Maxi. Kuyt should have netted one too because he really worked hard and I hope Roy gives Kelly a few more chances to get more exposure on that right side because if we can train him to be a better RB then toodle Glen and we might even fetch a nice price for him. Kelly needs to get his awareness up and cover the wings a little better.

  6.

Tears of joy ! I can't explain how happy I am ... I was literally jumping on my sofa and screaming when Torres scored the 2nd goal. Liverpool all the way :wOOtjumpy:. I love you Torres !!!

Do you know when he cut his hair short someone i know said that was Samsons mistake too lol and now when I think about it, the whole not scoring spell after the haircut but he knew where Cech was and he placed it well. Now all they need to do is focus on crowding players, get the tackles in and drive this result home. 45 more minutes of madness and Anfield and we can walk away with a win and a further move up the table.

  7. ^so gone r those days when Liverpool fans used to look forward to games with united / Chelsea? :P

I know its only the first half and they do have an attacking strength that can make comebacks but zomg ... I am just glad Torres has his shooting boots back on and why would I bother with the United/Chelsea matchups when we need to worry about moving up the ladder not being at the top? :P

P.S. Its nice to see us playing pressing football once again

  8. I don't really know what to expect today when we meet up with Chelski. I hope that Roy gets the right formation thinking hat on because we need this to either be a draw or a winner for us [unrealistic as it may sound to a Chelsea Fan-Boy] to start making moves up the ladder. I just want us to sit in the lower half of the top 8 and I'll consider this is a rescued season. If we do any better pat on the back for Roy because he really needs to get his act on soon before we start losing more games unnecessarily. The one game I am looking forward to towards the end of the season is the Blackpool one ... Revenge is due.

  9. Always wanted this thread........ I'm planning to buy THIS LCD very soon........ Probably next week itself...........

    Comments please..........

Thats a pretty sound purchase. Why don't you get something bigger though? I am sure post the Diwali sales you might be able to snag one for cheap. I have a 42 from LG and love it

  10. "Oh Steven Gerrard ... you are too good to be true" :majesty:

Great 2nd half performance by Liverpool. Good efforts by Jonjo Shelvy, Jay Spearing, Lucas, Glen Johnson and ofcourse Steven Gerrard. Btw, the tackle on NGog was really sick; very lucky that he didn't break his leg.

+1. I was just shocked when I saw it. The whole midfield game changed when he came on. What a performance.

P.S. that poulsen mishap could have been covered by G.Johnson too because when Carra went up to get the ball glen just sat exactly where he was but your right when you say that Poulsen has been rubbish. Bring back the old guard after this. I just hope that Fernando got a little inspired for the weekend blitzer we have coming up ....

Oh and dear Roy please go buy F.Coentrao and bring him to pool because the guy will offer depth on the left

  11. Jesus, Bale was on fire tonight. He tip-toed around the defensive line like it wasn't even there. Inter didn't look threatening enough imo but I am sure Rafa will have a milk in the bottle or priest on a salt mound joke up his sleeve for the press lol

  12. Finally got some time to unbox my wedding present [1000D Canon] and took some pics in Bangkok with it. Will post it up here once I get a chance. Came with a kit lens which isn't so bad to be honest but I am looking for an upgrade to that preferably something with IS because I feel that I have shaky hands myself. Does anyone in here know any places in Bangalore that sell lenses besides the authorized dealers? I have been doing loads of reading but I think I'd rather take a gander at the lenses and prices locally first before stepping into importing [if it even needs to come to that]

  13. Now all Roy has to do is win the next game to bolster some faith [i just put on my flame-retardant suit btw]. I have not even had a chance to watch any games for the last week but what a good time to get my cable all hooked up because this weekend should either be a riot run for Chelsea or we might see something miraculous happen. I am hoping for the latter.

  14. Sometimes when they shift leagues they lose a lot of skill imo. I don't forsee De Rossi leaving Roma and kudos to the guy that mentioned Maldini. I liked the way he played and still think he was one of the best defenders of his time. Nesta could also be just as brilliant except he's not having as much luck these days.

I think Roy is being a little over ambitious with the amount he is going to spend but realistically who would you bring in? I'd like someone like Coentrao to come in so that we can actually push Johnson to the bench and fill that spot with someone else while F.C plays on the left side. He's young, has plenty of gusto going up, tracks back [bless him for that] and can easily fall in the 20 mil bucket with change to spare. I'd even say get a better CDM because I am sorry but Poulsen has been horrendous since his arrival and hasn't shown any distributive qualities that we are so much in dire need for. Joe Cole is erratic at best and when he's at his peak then he is a pleasure to watch but he does a lot of unnecessary show-boating at times and that needs to be controlled. No top class player is going to want to come to a team battling relegation right now so I say spend on growing prospects. I can never remember that young dutch player from Utrecht but I say get him because we all know how good dutch forwards get as they start getting into their mid twenties and that might be just what we need up front with Torres as a replacement.

  15. that formation setting really affords lapses in skill as well because at all times the player has the option of going in either direction unless the other team finds a way to press him in a line breaking the triangle then the player has to have massive amounts of skill. England suffered at the WC because of this very issue [not barring their lack of want and enthusiasm]. Saying that Messi suffers at the world stage because of the same problem is probably not the right analogy because you do have wingers who can afford him leg room for passing as well. The real question is when will the Argentine National team understand that loading a front line is not always the right way to hit opponents. They have stellar attacking midfield prowess and they failed to capitalize on it with a german team that showed more discipline and an arc running formation at the WC which once again afforded the spread in either direction. Its not a regular W-W form but it also works and so do diagonals as we saw in the Euro that Spain won. I remember watching Spain distribute the ball from the back of the line in an almost rugby styled fashion as they moved the ball diagonally across the pitch without moving the ball back whilst making openings by floating wide or simply forcing the marker to run to the person with the ball.

    Interesting article nonetheless.

  16. I put Jose close with Van Gaal too. He bought victory to Inter after what seemed like an eternity only to leave but the game plan he deployed shut down a lot of good teams. Its not attractive football but it gets the job done and with efficiency too.

  17. Ballon D'or Shortlist is out. Delighted with the no.of English players.

Its Van Gaal for me and Bayern he did a good number with them and bought the game back to the way it was. As for the player I don't know really perhaps Robben, Forlan or Wesley but thats just me
