  1. arsenal losing to city . sigh . Can noone beat city except chelsea :wallbash:

I can't remember who said it but the key to beating City is breaking that defense line and they were right. Some of the defensive tackles, even when they were left flat-footed, were good. They'll lose a few more games come the second half of the season but right now they are almost unbeatable and they really have nothing else to worry about considering their CL campaign is dusted.

  2. Last night was a display of "We have it in the bag and can score more, but lets just try and make it hard on ourselves and see what happens". I do not know why he made those substitutions without thinking about the consequences and he had so much time left on the clock. Pure bad decision by the manager yesterday and whats worse is that he removed all his midfield attack options and put in defensive options. I just don't get it.

@United making the CL: I don't think it will happen because the Swiss do not want ejection from all competitions, which is a bit unfair if you ask me.

P.S. Anyone watch the Sevilla/Real game last night?

  3. Every sentence you wrote here is absolutely wrong :slap:El-Nino will shine very soon,he has got the backing and time now that he wanted. And how many times has he played with Mata, tell me.As soon as he comes on,Mata is Substituted and Malouda comes on(who learnt everything in football but forgot to learn how to pass).

Whenever Mata has played with Torres Full time,Torres has done pretty well except the Arsenal game where Torres could have scored 2 if that Stupid Selfish Sturridge would have passed :furious:

Torres doesnt need any creative injection,he just needs his runs to be spotted and the pass made to him.Rest he will take care of.

The Return of El-Nino is Here People :gunsmilie:

I wanted to a multi line quote but this will do for now.

    A. You might want to go back and re-read what I wrote.

    B. Stop blaming the other players and start recognizing the problem if not coming to terms with it. While he was at Liverpool the passing wasn't the only thing that made him good it was him playing so close to the defenders that did. I don't see that with him at Chelsea and moreover I see him tracking more than attacking.

    C. It's good to be blind till someone tries and hand you a pair of glasses

I don't see him shining for Chelsea the way he did for Liverpool and while that may not be apparent to you its becoming increasingly apparent to other Chelsea supporters because he isn't able to regain his creative touch. I watched him play for Liverpool and said that he was a far-front striker who shouldn't have to track back too consistently in a game otherwise he loses all his steam and then loses the ball as well, granted he has done some long runs but those are far too few. The next time you watch him play and see him score a goal just take a mental note of where he is when he gets the ball and where he is when he lets the ball lose on the net and maybe then you'll see what I am talking about. AVB is going to unload him in the summer and that is getting more inevitable by the day.

  4. Porto vs Shitty will be a good watch .. Is Falcao still at Porto ?

I think Ajax are the favorites against United. :fear:

No Falcao, he went to Athletico and I think Ajax will put up a fight but who knows how that will all turn out. Super draws imo. I am also keen to see Bayer L play Barca.

  5. Yep Spurs didn't crash out they just got 'swung' out by a goal and a Russian team. As for El-Nino scoring, its not happening anytime soon. Something went horribly wrong for him last year and since then he has never fully recovered. He was in poor form at Liverpool towards his ending days as well and is going to need some creative injection to make things click again. What's even more funnier is that Mata has an excellent eye for passing but its not really helping Fernando.

  6. Torres = 50 Mil cash surplus

Andy = Not knowing what to do with 50 Mil so spend it on something that showed potential if not consistently

And now for the best news of the f'ing day. Apparently, we are scouting David Villa for strike options in the front. Why oh why? I don't think it is a smart purchase in the least. If people look at the acquisitions before the start of this season i'd go as far to say that Jose was the best purchase we made followed very closely by Bellamy because he works so well with Maxi and Suarez and is completely interchangeable with Kuyt. Bringing Villa in might give us a year or two of strike opportunities from a player that has a wicked outside-box shot and can still run some defenders around themselves but that's about it. He has won enough trophies to keep himself content till his retirement but the question of his usefulness long-term will always be a negative for me.

  7. If you ask me, Kenny should ditch this whole 'we need an Englishman' crusade and go hunting in the Bundesliga or Eredevise. Chances are you'll get someone experienced enough to learn and adapt while affording growth time as well. Whatever the case, getting a rock-solid CAM is not a purchase and fit move ever, it takes a year at the least to get the player settled and to learn the attack strategy of his team-mates plus the attack movement of the entire team.

  8. If United are not lifting the league trophy coming May, I doesn't bother me much if Arsenal/Chelsea/Spurs win it. Shitty and Pool :nono:

Realistically impossible and if I was Kenny I'd tell the players to stop dreaming about it as well. Focus on getting back to European football. We can worry about the domestic league once we get our feet to compete in Europe back again. That only draws more players to the fold and god knows we need someone to fill that CAM position sooner than later.

  9. Was Jones playing Midfield yesterday? I heard it from a friend, didn't get to watch any of the games but that City win looked quite good. Five different players scoring. Now that is special.

Also, does it seem like this is the patch that will define Pardew's position in the league table?

  10. Just read about United. How in the world did they lose to Crystal Palace? I am not taking anything away from Palace but I figured this would have been a walk in the park for SAF.

Either way, we will have to play a more dynamic game to win the next tie and with Lucas out someone else has to step up to the plate and cover the slot. I just hope we can get Steven back at some point to strengthen that place because I don't see Charlie lasting too long without getting carded. Maybe move Jay in there and play Glen inside and bring Kelly back to the first team?

  11. Good to see you praising Lucas :)

I think he wins balls which is why I want him on the pitch. As an all-round and team-pushing CDM he isn't anywhere close to what I expect to see covering the back four yet but who else would you put there? Don't get me wrong, he has come a long ways from his initial time on the pitch but there is so much more room to improve and change his long-ball gameplay.

    who's worse?

    torres or carroll

One can use his body really well but hasn't figured it out yet and the other knows what to do when he gets the ball but hardly ever gets it lol. You can decide who falls into what category.

Good to hear Coates was good

    How was Hendo?

Hendo has moments of brilliance but he also loses the ball quite a bit and is highly prone to pressure. I found Coates more rock-solid than Hendo last night.

  12. Coates actually turned in a good performance and I was surprised at how well he adapted. Kelly will only get better but I think he needs to pick his pace up a bit to find first team action. The only downside to that game is that Lucas walked off with an injury but hopefully it doesn't stick because we need him in the center to keep winning balls. Charlie can be good but not when he has to shoulder defensive responsibilities and isn't allowed to roam.

I don't feel bad for Torres on the club choice front but I do feel bad for him regarding how the fans are treating him. Its Owen all over again and its funny because the KOP have actually stopped lambasting him for his choice. He made it, he is living with it and that should really be the end of it.
